Why doesn't Sony shut shit like pic related down? It directly eats into dev profit.
Emulatipn should be illegal

emulation is illegal. Emulators are not. It's just software that can be used to render 3d shapes.
see: bleem
Sony re-releases all worthwhile PS3 games on PSN, ready for the newer consoles as intended.
>a player paying no money for a game is not eating into dev profits

Where are Yakuza 3, 4 and 5?
>worthwhile
lmao because they TRIED you fucking pleb
and they failed so fucking hard it completely legitimized emulators in the process

on ps now, like he said?
>emulation is illegal
Prove it, Nintendo shill. It's perfectly legal for me to rip copies of games I own and play them on an emulator.
The devs can't sue if you own the game, but Nintendo still can if you don't own the console.
Anti emulation/piracy threads are stupid. You know what? I do out it of gain, but now I'm just gonna do it to make people mad as fuck. Absolutely at no loss to me.
>streaming your vidya
You don't own games, they don't deserve to own your money.
>durrrrr you need to own a console to own a DVD-ROM drive, or a cartridge reader
Show me the precedent, otherwise you're just talking out of your ass.
I mean you don't own games at all, haven't for the last ~10 years because patches are such a requirement for just about every new release. IF you're playing a game without at the VERY least a day 1 patch, you're usually playing a horribly buggy inferior mess. Imagine ffxv without all the patches. Or bloodborne when it still had 3-4 minute load times.
fact of the matter is, it's plainly against the law. No one chooses to enforce it, but that doesn't mean it's legal.
>come up with the most lazy and obvious bait you can think of
>still get replies
This is why Sup Forums > Sup Forums
>fact of the matter is, it's plainly against the law
CITE THE LAW, NINTENDO SHILL
At least you download patches on your own console/PC, so they won't be able to manually disable it to force you to buy the game again
what do you expect from a board that both reddit and the rightwing reddit (Sup Forums) treat as a "funposting" dumpster
Devs already got paid for making the game. The publishers are the ones making money.
YOU LITERALLY CAN'T BECAUSE ALL YOU HAVE IS NINTENDO'S LITTLE CRYBABY SHIT PAGE ABOUT HOW EMULATION IS ILLEGAL (NO LEGAL REFERENCES) AND IT MAKES THEM SAD
If it's not you yourself replying, it's always someone else, which pisses me off. People here aren't smart anymore.
>buy Nintendo game (Super Metroid in particular)
>decide to have it on the go, so I put it on an emulator on my PSP since I don't want to rebuy it on the 3DS or Switch
>"NOOO FILTHY GAIJIN YOU'RE LITERALLY DESTROYING OUR PROFITS! YOU'RE GONNA GET SUED REEEEEE"
>Emulatipn should be illegal
It isn't though.
Eat shit.
Would like to see the written law as well desu.
My impression was always that emulators were fine but roms were not. I think this was shown somewhat here:
>itlaw.wikia.com
I don’t think there is a law specifically talking about emulation or roms but rather about piracy in general. Would be nice to see this.
>every person on earth who doesn't buy a game is eating into dev profits
should sue them all desu senpai
No, but they should sue every person who plays without paying for it.
They already tried kiddo, didn't go so well.
>game
thats an emulator buddy
not a game
learn what the fuck youre talking about before you talk retard
Sony has tried twice to shut down emulators before, failed spectacularly. Sony is better off letting them develop a ps3 emulator, then buying it off of them for the ps5.
>Sony paying for piracy
>Nintendo putting roms on the eShop
Emulation isn't piracy, the xbone is using emulation to play 360 games, ps3 used emulation to play ps1 games. Sony would likely want to purchase the emulation software so that it can't be distributed no more and they can use the code in the future.
Not the point, afaik one of the developers of either Bleem or Connectix VGS works or has worked for Sony developing backwards compatibility for their next consoles.
>sony trying to take down emulation
>dev profit
pffffffft
Devs are contract workers, they don't make profit, and sony has fucked up so badly with emulation they're the reason it's not only legal but monitizable.
>directly eats into dev profit
anti-piracy faggots actually believe that $60 get taken away from the devs bank account every time someone pirates a copy of their game
also emulators are not illegal, you should only use games you own for emulation, and the emulator's code is not owned by sony, microsoft or nintendo, so what's illegal about that? It's illegal because you can use pirated games on it?
You can also use pirated games on console and pc, should we also ban those?
Heck, there's even arguments to be made for games you don't own, but aren't available for resale anymore. Would you say it's wrong to emulate a game like Skies of Arcadia, which doesn't even have the courtesy of a re-release ANYWHERE past 2005?
>Would you say it's wrong to emulate a game like Skies of Arcadia, which doesn't even have the courtesy of a re-release ANYWHERE past 2005?
Morally wrong or legally?
It is legally wrong in most countries, provided you don’t own the game. I think the time period after it becomes legal is something like 75 years.
It used to be 10-20 years, until a certain (((mouse))) decided that he wants to extend copyright law infinitely, and as such I can't view that law seriously anymore.
>Not even citing switch/3ds emulation
Weak b8 saged
Adding onto that, give me one reason why I should follow a law that can be changed if you have big enough pockets.
