ITT : Games that were considered good until some soyboy gets so buttfrustrated about it he starts spamming threads

Which e-celeb are you even talking about? Dungeon Siege got decent sales for its time

pft I bet you didn't even set your mana to be negative so you could drink mana potions indefinitely

pic unrelated.
I was playing this series before E-celebs was a thing.

only thing of value it had was coop. MP is dead now. You do the math

That autist that wants EA to stop killing games.

That's not narrowing it down at all

That autist that spends 2/3 of his every video sperging out about some unrelated subject.

Totalbiscuit?

UUUUUHH...Jim Sterling?

Ulillillia?

OP can't be talking about Ross. He liked Dungeon Siege and it's expansion a lot, but there were no instructions to worship the game in the video. I didn't even leave with a mild inclination to play the game.

Yeah, the only things I thought he really liked was the Journey feeling & combat. He picked apart quite a few problems like the moving platforms.

>Old PC Game
>Soyboys

I thought Soyboys was a nintendo specific insult? I can't even keep up with you fucks and you fad words anymore.

Also Ross never told anyone to think anyothing of it, he said his own thoughts and pointed out negatives along with positives and has little to no real influence on anyone's opinions.

His videos can be entertaining at times though.

I still can't believe they made a movie about this game. They don't even have a name for the protagonist, they just call him farmer

Great game though, multiplayer was magical. Also fuck anyone who used the little imp that picked up all the items you know who you are

Soyboys is the new "cuck". For the moment.

Automation: The Game. It was cool to watch a big group run around, killling even larger groups. I always got bored about halfway through, though. There just wasn't enough to keep me interested in the long run.

And then Ultima 5: Lazarus was released and everything changed. Man, what a great fan remake.

Soyboys are just neckbeards who are slightly more social and much more feminine. It's not exclusive to Nintendo. They just seem to gravitate towards Nintendo.

There's no way that Dungeon Siege didn't have a dedicated Euro autist following. It's one of those kinds of games.

Anyway people don't take Ross's taste in videogames as fact, at all. He's all about FMVs and cinematic bombastic tones over actual mechanics. And that's fine, bit like LGR where you're watching solely for that archaic taste.

The only time Ross's opinions ever made me mad was when he tore Deus Ex Human Revolution to shreds over every little detail when the game is actually pretty fun.

>Game is worse in every way compared to the first game
>B-B-B-BUT IT'S FUN

>a dedicated Euro autist following
It's not a complex game.

>Game is worse in every way compared to the first game
>so let's spend 20 minutes making fun of in-game fashion

I don't remember any long-winded complaints about the combat that he had.
It was a writing/worldbuilding-focused series of reviews. The only reason he covered it, because he figured nobody else was going to concentrate on the aspects he was going to.

It's no where near as bad as Invisible War and he practically went easy on that game

Name signs that a thread is completely worthless.

>has "soyboy" in its OP

I wouldn't say that calling it a braindead, consolized failure of a game with terrible levels and cartoonish writing is going particularly easy on it.

was considered as good in its time
until people looked bakc and recognised how much of a linear no-effort-required trash it was
then eceleb picked it up
now the dronefans do the drone thing and drone in
also anyone who is not saging this thread is a fag

Ross is a literal retard
At one point in a certain RPG review he took a level 1 weapon to fight level 20-30 mooks to prove his point of "this game is so absurdly hard even basic mooks take 15 min to kill". Removed comments that called him out on it.
He complained about constant loading times in a game that has load-on-the-fly option, shows an option screen where every setting that makes loading longer tuned to max with load-on-the-fly disabled
He complained about a simple magic system that is literally "arrange runes in a described order, get spell in your spellbook for future hotbaring" as being too complex. In same game complained about "impossible luck based boss battle you could not have prepared for because requires barehand fighting that you never had to use before" where the game explicitly gave him 2 spells (Might and Fist Mastery) 10 minutes prior, and he even showed said spells when he was ranting on about magic.

fuck this guy

Oh was that the ARPG one with the awful voice acting? I can't believe it, I kinda wanted to play the free version too

I remember that back then many of my friends loved both titles, one even said about the movie "Despite everything he did wrong, I must admit that Boll at least made a better story than the game".

I also remember that this is the only game series where Obsidian managed to make a worse entry than the previous ones and not a "It's buggy but under all those technical issues lies a masterpiece" like KOTOR 2 and New Vegas, they made a legitimate horrible game no one liked.

I really enjoyed Dungeon Siege.

Dungeon Siege 3 is a fun game with a good story. The only bad thing about it is camera. People hated it because it's not a screensaver but a more "action-y" ARPG. And the camera sucks. It's pretty, plays smoothly and has actual waifus. However, fuck the camera.

underrated post

>tfw was an autist and solo'd through the game because I had to get all the xp and didn't like that xp was shared in the party.
Maybe I should do a murderhobo run where everyone is invited.

the game was made in Poland on shoestring budget and so the english dub was made by Polacks as well.

>1 guy
>5 pack mules
Patrician way to play

I never played it myself, but every time I read/watch/listening about DS3, I never hear anything good about it and only how painfully horrible it is. That's not even the typical Sup Forums bullshit (ME3, 15 minutes of it is bad, the very minor thing with the small fetch quests you get if you walk past an NPC is also not good, Sup Forums like: HURR! WORST GAME EV0R GAS THE KIKES RACE WAR NOW!), I also see this in very fair review and forums.

But I would like if you give me an example of a favor review, I wanted to try the series for a long time and I'm pretty forgiven if games have some good elements that are just overshadowed from bad ones.

Whats DS gotta do with e celebs?

>reviews
Just watch the first 15 minutes on youtube or something. It's not a great game - it's average at best, though it has good graphics for its time (Obsidian's own Onyx engine, developed for Aliens RPG IIRC). As I said, I hated the camera and never went far. What gets me is that OG DS wasn't a good game either - it was average at best too. And yet people treat DS3 as a mutilation of a cult classic when it's just a disappointing and forgettable game in a series of disappointing and forgettable games.

I used to sit on the main menu just to listen to this, even when we were having LAN parties those suckers had to wait until I had my fix.

A couple of years ago I ran through DS1, Legends of Aranna and DS2 with a few pals.

DS1 had the best feeling of adventure imo, I played it so much that I can run through the whole game in my head. I liked Aranna a lot especially the beginning and the first hub city but the spider caves just after it will always be bullshit. DS2's attempt to be cinematic worked to an extent and I like the grand scale of the game but I hate the jungle part with all the fucking pygmies so much and while the special abilities are neato I never liked how important they were. Almost every boss was just building up your special so you could blast them with it ASAP and then kite and chug until you can land another super. The giant desert zone was terrible too.

The Boll movie was a travesty but I ate it up anyway.
I wonder how many people actually know the game's story? Beyond getting your farm ganked by goblins and you murdering you way through land and kingdom and kill a demon at the end.

>Camera
Worst offender for me was the time it took to use menus. You had to sit through FOUR (4) four fucking menu animations to change equipment or view the loot you just picked up. IIRC it took /at least/ 6 seconds and then you couldn't even exit from menu to game, oh no, you had to sit through all of them in reverse too. 15 second minimum to look at your gear is fucking unacceptable

I didn't mean it as a bait, he put in DS 1 and 2 hundreds of hours, but he said that the pure storytelling was better in the Boll movie despite that the Boll movie was boring and dumb as fuck.

are these games open world games?

asking for a friend

It's a massive map without loading screens, but it's just you walking through a tunnel for hours upon hours.

Don't worry I'm just talking to you. I've cleared the game near a dozen times and I simply can't remember the story. You pick up your pitchfork and kill your way to town and everyone says shit's fucked and spiderpeople come from the crypts so you go down there and kill everything, find their tunnels at the end and keep killing your way forward and that's pretty much it but with different locales as the game goes on. You reach a new place and it's in immediate danger from some bullshit that leads you to the next hub. And for some reason you can activate teleporters.

>He only bought 5 pack mules
Fucking pleb

Attached: 1517149799500.jpg (420x400, 32K)

He said the same thing and since the Boll movie has some emotional attachment and characterization (even if it's a dull, bland 08/15 one) he said on that base, it's a better story than the game it was based on.

Are these games any good?

hey i like pewdiepie

Why do you keep posting this thread every day?

Dungeon Siege, Neverwinter Nights and Icewind Dale were my fucking jam. Fuck off with that bullshit.
