I remember being absolutely mesmerized by this. The Nintendo DS was the very first video game system that I bought with my own working money (I was 14 when it launched).

I mowed lawns and taped flyers to doors for cash. Stored all my cash in a shoebox in my closet, and pre-ordered at GameStop as soon as I could pay it off in full.

Dual screens are an amazing gimmick and I really hope they make another DS-type, fuck the Switch. Wii U had the right idea with the gamepad, wasn't perfect but had way more gameplay innovations than the Switch's "muh console handheld hybrid" nonsense.

Why does Nintendo have to give every system a gimmick?

Because consoles can't have beefy hardware by definition. They will always be behind. The Xbone and PS4 are basically outdated PCs. Consoles have to have some other function to really serve a purpose.

Why would someone regret buying the GOAT handheld?

I bought it and I hated the "two screens" gimmick with unparalleled passion.
Finally I'd get portable n64 games and there was a bullshit second screen making the machine more fragile and expensive for shitty minigames and minimaps.

Also Another Code: Two Memories was UNCOMPLETABLE for me because the two-screens puzzle was just bugged.

1 screen with touch would've been ok. Wario Ware was cool and so was the Prince of Persia battles game. Metroid Hunters also controlled well. It was uncomfortable but precise.
