I actually don't think he'll ever be included. People seem to come up with all sorts of reasons why certain non-nintendo characters should make it in but the only non-ninty IP characters that have made the cut have either been exclusive to Nintendo (and pushed/funded heavily by Nintendo i.e. Bayonetta) or are absolute gaming icons: cloud, pacman, megaman, ryu, snake.
It's the same for Wonder Red, he'd make a great addition, but he's never gonna be in for the same reason Travis won't ever be in.
