How would you fix the Fallout franchise?
How would you fix the Fallout franchise?
Go back to isometric.
Would ba amazing if they presented fallout 5 as another fps but then they go to the menu, select isometric and boom, you swap to isometric.
Let it die.
>Go back to isometric
That's a brainlet solution. Isometric doesn't make Fallout what it is. Setting, writing, lore does.
Give it to Obsidian for quest and story, but Bethesda for graphics and gameplay. implement easier enb integration because Bethesda's and Obsidian's lighting is both shit
New Vegas is better than fallout 3 and 4 but the biggest problem i have with it is weapon and armor balance.
You just don't feel like you're making progress when you get weapons like plasma caster which is supposed to be the best plasma gun in the game.
Power armor also does not feel super strong in this game.
I really liked how in fallout 1 and 2 you start as a super weak character and as you progress and get better equipment you turn into face melting death incarnate.
It's just not the same in new vegas, you're either kill everyone on normal difficulty either you have trouble killing a single raider on hard and very hard.
They would have to bring back the people that worked on NV, otherwise I don't think current Obsidian would do well.
Just needs Avellone and that's it. Doesn't even have to be Obsidian, Bethesda should just hire him for next Fallout,
Let it's bloody, broke corpse rest in peace
Adding micro transactions for skill points
Dump the character creation, instead have a preset character, preferably a woman.
If it's a Bethesda game, don't have a main story. They should just make a world to explore and get immersed in. They fucking suck at writing. Bring back mechanics that have been dumbed down.
This, but make sure Obsidian knows that they are not funny at all. All of New Vegas was great except for Old World Blues. That DLC was Bioware tier trash.
I already got you, asspie. No take backsies.
shit
>playing fallout 2 for the first time blind
>finished 1 last night and was pretty fun
>"Hey go into these toxic caves and save this guy. But here's some boots that'll stop the goo."
>go to cave
>fight geckos
>wear boots
>"the boots melted"
>"the other pair of boots melted"
>radiated
>no doctor in first or second town
>learn that quest is time sensitive
>die
Is the whole game going to be like this?
Not really, there will be few more moments like that just few.
I've never played a Fallout game, and I don't like post apocalyptic settings, so here's my gameplan.
>Make a new Quake game (With single player this time)
>Include a Fallout character in multiplayer so that normies will buy it.
make FO4 but bigger in scope. more crazy areas like the glowing sea, more weapons, more armor, more quests, more choices, more side activities like settlements. this is clearly what bethesda does well and i'd much rather have a good open world FPS with RPG lite mechanics than a shitty RPG like 3 or NV
speaking of NV, obsidian aren't good writers, game designers, and they can't make a fun open world. preferably, don't have them involved at all.
making a modern take on isometric FO with a less dogshit UI and combat system would be nice but impossible for a AAA publisher.
Id make it a role playing game.
This. Bethesda has made it very clear, two times, that they don't know what the fuck they're doing with the series. Even after obsidian showed them how it's done after they fucked up the first time.
There's nothing left to save and there's no way they'll let go of their vice-like grip on the series again.
turn it into a strategy game
>but Bethesda for graphics and gameplay
WWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
I wouldn't forget that Tactics exists for starters
