Tekken 7 50% off

Worth getting? Never played a Tekken before but the aesthetics and gameplay look really unique and pretty appealing.

Its a good fighting game, but takes a lot of dedication if you actually want to get good. Character roster is great, all characters are viable in a sense.

If you've never played a Tekken game before and gotten into it. You're not going to like this game at all. Plain and simple.

Tekken is absolutely NOT for everyone. You gotta be into it and takes time to get good. Goes double if you're new. but it's a great fighting game prob best fighting game this gen, for sure

It’s a pretty good fighting game, but takes an autistic level of frame advantage and disadvantage analyzation to play at a proficient level. If you’re wanting to be competitive you have to spend a shit ton of time practicing comparatively to other fighters.

Whilst this is all true, Tekken can be enjoyed really nicely on a casual level if you have a couple of friends at a similar level.

I'd even say it's almost comparable to the split between people who play Smash Bros for fun and those who play Melee competitively.

Wrong

t. 300 hours in T7 despite never playing a fighting game before

>Implying that 300 hours is a lot of time
>Implying that you’re anything higher than a Yellow Rank if that
>Implying
Keep playing though, we need more new blood

What does any of that have to do with enjoying it? It takes a while to get good at Tekken, so there's no reason to keep playing if you're not having fun.

yes its worth. very fun, perfectly active and popular, and really good deal

Thanks for the heads up everyone.

How well is Tekken 7 optimized? Do you think I would be able to run it on my 940 2GB laptop card, or is it better if I just stick to my 580 8GB desktop pc for the game?

Stick with the desktop. It's pretty well optimized but you need to make it look like absolute shit to run on something like your laptop.

at this point i think no. less than 2k players online today and its on sale

That's plenty for a fight game. I get matches in under 30 seconds easy. Around green-yellow ranks.

50% off where?

let me guess, green and blue ranks

Can you read?

name a better fighting game atm

In terms of player count, DBFZ and SFV. I still like Tekken better though.

are you retarded

It would be naive to assume that a “new to fighting games” individual would find Tekken to be an appealing game to try to break into. Unlike Street Fighter for example Tekken’s gameplay has remained relatively unchanged and so has its player base. By all means I’m glad you’ve decided to stick around but it feels disingenuous to try to act like Tekken is easy to get into for people who aren’t super dedicated. You’re probably just starting to understand what level an above average player plays at and what that entails at 300 hours.

I actually think it's easier for a complete noob. Combos are easier than in SF or anime fighters. Movement is difficult but not difficult to understand. The action is all pretty simple to look at and gain a basic idea of what's happening, as long as you're doing some research. And it's fun to mash in for a while before you actually start to learn things.

My player base would be my friends, tekken appeals more to the "lets hang, talk shit and drink redbull" for me. SFV seems cool but not as polished as tekken

Raven is best girl. Prove me wrong.

Ignore elitists

>drink redbull
You're already sounding like a pro Korean. Good shit.

That’s the meme though. Tekken is not super easy to get into, but serviceable and fun if you like it. HOWEVER, the real game begins after you start to understand just how fucking hard it is to be “good” at Tekken. Once you get past Yellow tank and into Orange and above you’re playing an entirely different game. It becomes less about not being brain dead and actually about being talented. You truly don’t know how bad you are until you get to a level where you run into “Good” Mishima players, GS mixup Kings, iWR 2 Dragunovs, and Steves who know how to do something other than mash.

This. Melee, Tekken, and Street Fighter 3 all have this huge problem of "High level play is pretty much an entirely different game due to advanced techniques and exploits".

If you want to get GOOD at a fighting game, don't get Tekken, as there are other games that have a better learning curb. Tekken is a pain in the ass to get good at, and a lot of it is just busywork.

If you just want a fighting game to play casually, then by all means buy Tekken 7, it's fantastic.

300 Hours doesn't mean a goddamn thing in Fighting Games.

For casual play, none. DBZ can be close if your friends and you are all bad.

For serious play? Guilty Gear Xrd, and SFV AE. I can't include DBZ because online play is so shitty.

This has been mentioned already, but Tekken is really fun on a casual level with friends who are as new to the game as you are.

Her df 2 launcher doesn't support your claim.

imma let you finnish

but third strike is the greatest fighting game of all time

She’s unsafe as fuck, but she is pretty fucking difficult to play against if the person you’re against is smart. She’s an actually good Yoshimitsu with retardedly high combo damage, relatively low execution, and very good pokes and one of the better df1s in the game. She’s pretty gud.

Is Soul Calibur also this impenetrable? I have no real experience with 3D fighters but thinking of picking it up when VI comes out

Soul Calibur is much less damning just for the fact its movement system isn't as absurd to learn.
