If you're rich and retarded, go for it faggot

Are curved monitors a meme?

Just buy two monitors, I don't get it

4k isnt even worth it atm imo
maybe few more years sure

regular ones aren't and can be a bit more immersive
Shit like OP's is purely for people with too much money.

those huge ultra wide ones are pointless but the basic curved ones are actually quite nice.

They're alright, the curve kinda helps and it definitely doesn't create problems.
Op's is a meme though.

>those huge ultra wide ones are pointless
why

Most of your games would be broken on them, for starters.

I want to get four of them with a swivel chair and completely surround myself by screens.

most games dont even support that big of a resolution

and if youre just using it for web browsing, have fun always having to turn your head to look at the corners of the monitor.
only good use for it is for content creation. and i know for sure you dont do any sort of video editing

Wow, is it finally possible to watch movies without black bars on that, or did they make them 2:244 in response?

If you really want an expensive ass monitor, wait untiul summer - fall when nVidia and partners release the BFG displays.

>65 inches
>144 hz
>G-Sync
>4k
>HDR

Basically you won't need anything else until holographic technology/full-dive VR/8K becomes a thing.

Literally this. Easier to multitask with.

>just buy two monitors
>having a fucking edges blocking half your screen
lol

Enjoy distortion

user, I already have problems getting games to run in 21:9 for a good chunk of titles. NOTHING will support 32:9, outside the windows desktop and applications.

65 is ridiculous. Should have been 55 tops, 40 in an ideal world.

The whole point of 21:9 is to emulate cinema. Either watch movies in 21:9 or play games and pretend you're watching a movie. 32:9 makes no sense, there's no content.

Are they all meme shaped?

99% of games don't even work with that size of resolution.

and movies and anime aren't made for it either.

most programs run like shit in windowed mode too, so its a complete utter shit show.

waste of money.

>Do I buy Samsung’s CHG90 is a 49-inch Super Ultra-Wide?
Is this the output of a markov chain generator?

I like ~27" 2k monitors. They reach a good compromise between fidelity, real estate and achievable FPS.

That said, if you're getting a huge monitor like OP then you're probably not worried about having 3G of graphics cards.

I think they want to appeal to console or HTPC players too, but it was kinda dumb not having a TV tuner.

> take 54" UHD with horrid 80 dpi
> cut in half
> sell as 2 49" ultra-wides for $1100 each

hahaha, no fucking way in hell.

You 4k edgeless monitor you poorfag

you still have a crack in the middle you retard

>inb4 60hz
if its not 144hz or higher, don't bother

price range?
those fuckers are gonna be 2k+ aren't they?

Using a 40" 2160p monitor right now, it is a great user experience and in a small room it works great as a media display as well.
This is actually the third large format 4k display I've had, hooked up to my computer probably won't upgrade again now until one with freesync becomes available.

Agree that for most use cases 65" is too big for a 4k monitor unless you're talking about a living room scenario.

>$2,000+

Most likely, they said it would be priced like other high end UHD-TVs in the same size range so expect around $1300 at the cheapest and $2,000 at the most for an accurate price range. Hopefully Nvidia says more about them including release and price along with their next-gen GPUs at GTC later this month.

Best size is 32" but for 4k I'd probably tolerate 40". A 40" ultrawide would be perfect imho. And no curved shit because it fuck up the geometry.

But that's a lie. Most of games support it, more than 50%. And around 30-40% can be modified to support ultrawide, even most of old games.

>2560x1080
that's regular wide.

Except the monitor this thread is about is at least double the aspect ratio of your screenshot

If it works for regular ultrawide it will work for whatever resolution you want.

>The Samsung curved display meme

Dafuq is wrong with Samsung?

>work
your hud will be fucked up in most games, and few even let you adjust it beyond scaling.

Define 'fucked up'. Hud will be in corners, that could a problem for such wide ratio. Is that fucked up?

How do you intend to power 4K/144?

Curved TVs are a meme. Curved monitors are great. The problem with curved things is that they only work for one person. That's fine for computer screens.

What do you mean? Technology is advancing at such a rapid pace in terms of CPU power, and nvidia wouldn't release these unless they had a plan for a new line of GPUs that could power 4K 60 - 120hz on a single card.

If it's not viable this year, it will be viable by end of next year guaranteed.

Friendly reminder that DisplayPort 1.4 only supports up to 2160p/120Hz. To get 144Hz you will either have to compress the image (It's called Display Steam Compression, no idea if it's noticable or not in practice) or lower the resolution.

Bought and ultrameme display last year. Consoles don't support, they're too weak anyway. Most PC games don't properly support it. Those that do look great. Some games can be configured into filling the screen but never look quite right. Thing is bangin' for Excel and productivity tasks.

>GPUs that could power 4K 60 - 120hz on a single card.

You mean the Titan range?

Titan is more considered enthusiast tier on the consumer level. I'm talking more around the mid-high tier consumer level without reaching enthusiast levels of pricing, like a GTX 2070 or 2080.

I'm willing to bet the next-gen nvidia TI cards and Titan models will run 4k 144 hz+ and 8k 60 hz no problem on a single GPU.

Curves on a 24" monitor are almost completely unnoticeable.
