Susie is a fatty.
Prove me wrong.
>Can't shift the spout attack
It's not fair!
>Previous thread
Don't do that.
Poison was basically just polluted water but yeah same
whoops, OP here. That was just habits from other boards in which I instinctively put a previous thread link.
Demo genuinely bored me. How long do Kirby games take to get interesting? Seems like it's literally meant for kids
Franberge's Return to Gayland
Most Kirby games are fairly easy but Star Allies is a step above the others in terms of braindead-ness.
>Seems like it's literally meant for kids
That's because they are.
Brainlet-kun in the OP was being an absolute dunce, and yet he still won through the helper AI fighting for him. It's not gonna get any harder.
Claycia is the cutest and sexiest Kirby character.
t. lesbian
Kirby games are usually lax till literally the final boss. This new one seems to be especially braindead easy. You can press right and jump occasionally and your helpers will literally carry you throughout the game. You don't even have to try on bosses, they fucking die within 2 minutes and cause no substantial damage to you.
Kirby games get some difficulty in postgame content, story mode is easy mode
Susie's torso is barely 1/3 the width of her head. How is that fat in the slightest?

>Not an argument. I played BattleToads as a kid and beat it. Does that make it easy?
For you, yes, hence why difficulty is subjective.
It's not retarded, it's just highly subjective. Something is "too easy" if you find yourself totally unengaged because you don't even have to try.
He treats it as an objective fact though.
>At least you willingly admit it and I don't have to level it as an accusation, I guess.
I just wanna kill things as a pink blob, I don't particularly have high standards for the series an the only game in the series I genuinely dislike is DL3.
Bring. Her. Back.
I bet these faggots already 100% the game

>an the only game in the series I genuinely dislike is DL3.
Good god, how is your every opinion so awful?
What's your favorite Kirby game? This is your chance to redeem yourself.
Who's going to be your main in Helper to Hero?
bug man
>tfw the inevitable god tier japanese fan art of the Generals, Hyness and Final Boss
>the only game in the series I genuinely dislike is DL3
I haven't been following your conversation but i'm chiming in just to call you a faggot for this shitty opinion.
Paintra is a cutie.
Fuck off Munchy
good ol Rocky, nothing hurts him!
>main
I'm going to use whatever power I'm feeling at the moment, and eventually all of them.
Probably Bugzzy first since Suplex is the best ability in the series.
Thankfully Wheelie is gone so I don't have to deal with those tedious fucking wheel power boss fights.
*stands on top of you*
I think the thing that bothers me most is that what would have undoubtedly been a $40 game on an actual handheld gets bumped up to $60 just because Nintendo regards the Switch as its home console
This isn't a $60 game. I'd have gladly bought it for $40
>not having to patients to wait for an enemy to get off you
Besides, recent games made it so you do damage coming out of stone form, common enemies will die from that.
Enjoy your brainlet clear times nerd
>Super Star, Amazing Mirror, Nightmare in Dream Land, and Squeak Squad all had good speed and good pacing.
And the latter games do as well.
The only game I think controls like as is DL3.
>Adventure and Super Star had perfect difficulty and perfect challenge escelation for this series, the modern games can't even match Spring Breeze. It says a lot when they started off too easy, reached perfect difficulty for an easy series in the following games, then later down the line they got way, way easier and casualized than where they started. The actual levels are the most important part, and they're just brainless and boring now.
I don't see them as any harder, Adventure has some pretty stupid moments in it though like carrying around shitty hammer for a whole level.
>Yeah, originality and creativity don't matter. How far has the Kirby series has fallen if its modern fans actually believe this? Seeing primarily new things, primarily new enemies, primarily new characters, and mostly new music in new games is important, it gives each game it's own identity and it's part of what makes the adventure worthwhile. All of the classic main games could manage that.
Adventure recycled a shit ton from Dreamland, and 2, 3, and, SS would do the game. Robobot is also one of the most original looking games aesthetic-wise.
>So it's not as good as it could have been, all of the seams and corner cutting show, the lack of good level design, good enemies, and meaningful side content shows.
I don't notice a huge shift in quality.
(1/2)
>not having to patients to wait for an enemy to get off you
Yeah, good luck faggot.
slow and steady wins the race. Have fun learning attack patterns and spamming hammer swing, while I beat the true arena first try.
>implying you won't get pushed off a ledge by collision and die before you can fly back up
plugg
attacks that move you in stone form are rare as fuck. Only one I can think of is the vine move Sectonia soul has
Why does everyone hate this game, it's genuinely my favorite kirby game. Do I just have bad tastes?
>it's a "hater wins the argument" thread
Sad day.
>Blurry and jaggy, too. It looks like a low-res reflection in a gamecube game, and there's no reason something like this should only be 30fps.
>The difference is that it doesn't look as smooth as the previous Kirby games, nor does it play as smooth as the previous games, since the input is 30fps as well.
Again, I don't see the difference at all. Guess I'm not a pro leet gamur like you.
>Not even close, the helpers were just a bonus feature for multiplayer, the CPU helpers kind of helped but they also died pretty fast and didn't do puzzles for you.
I see that as a flaw, why even bother with them then if they're fucking retarded?
(2/2)
Depends. Robobot is my favorite mechanics-wise, and I'm a sucker for them bringing back Mirror and Dark Matter Blade, SS/U is the most memorable, and Adventure I go back to constantly and has fucking god tier sprite work. even if it's mostly nostalgia.
DL3, and Shimomura himself, has great character and memorable moments, but in gameplay they are a MASSIVE step down compared to Sakurai and Kumazaki.
Most of my hate stems from the fact that I just like SS's copy ability mechanics more.
Is there any reason they would add Drawcia over Ado, or is Ado completely secure in her place as a potential dream friend?
Try Dream Land, Adventure, and Super Star if you never played Kirby, they have more difficulty than the latest games. If you find yourself liking those play the 3DS games, and if you like those, then get Star Allies. I guess you kinda gave to be a contitioned Kirby fan to enjoy the newer style.of games.
>not a pro leet gamur
Wow, you sure showed him. Standards are lame and those who have them should be ridiculed
What is this postgame content? I'm super curious
Drawcia is more relevant, I guess. since she's the direct inspiration of Paintra and Vividria.
>Robobot is also one of the most original looking games aesthetic-wise.
I can't believe you're actually saying this after shitting on Dream Land 3 for no yet defined reason.
Robobot barely looks different from Return to Dream Land and Triple Deluxe. It just has more mechanized enemies and more techno music.
Adeleine
Nah it's the best Kirby game. People just dislike it because Shimomura gimped flying so you actually have to platform and play the game the way the levels are intended, but they can't adapt so they complain about it being "slow."
>but in gameplay they are a MASSIVE step down compared to Sakurai and Kumazaki
Not really. Super Star and the games that take after it are basically just 2D beat 'em ups with a small emphasis on platforming, while Shimomura's titles are more focused on precision platforming than combat, hence the gimped flying I just mentioned.
I also like how the animal buddies change up both your movement capabilities as well as how your attacks function, so they work as different playable characters that can be switched out as the situation demands. This element is missing from the later games. Even when characters like Meta Knight and Dedede are playable, they're effectively just Kirby reskins that use the same attacks + one or two unique ones.
ex modes and true arena
Triple Deluxe had an ex mode where you play as Dedede, for example. The bosses and enemies were beefed up, as well as there being some additional bosses present.
What I think is that they may have made the A.I. too smart. A good balance to that self-solving puzzle thing is that it has to notice that the player has been in the same room for like two minutes before the A.I. gives it a shot. Let the player try to meld the clay, and if it's not working out then give them a little push. Still have that net that I think the devs want, while also keeping some of the feeling of accomplishment of solving the puzzle on your own if you figure it out.
Drawcia is more recent. Nothing is impossible, but in the fan sense, people are agreeing that Adeleine not returning will spark a PR fire from the vocal minority.
Adeleine has a decent shot, she's a fan-favorite and would probably just be based on Artist. Drawcia would be a safer, more predictable choice so I think they would add her first, but bringing back Gooey and Marx makes me wonder.
why do the people who leak games suck at actually playing them
They do it on purpose to fuck with you.
>I also like how the animal buddies change up both your movement capabilities as well as how your attacks function, so they work as different playable characters that can be switched out as the situation demands. This element is missing from the later games.
Not entirely. The Robobot Armor fills that exact role, though it's limited to specific sections.
The armor still functions the same as Kirby. It can walk, run, fly, absorb abilities and attack. The differences are that it's bigger and powers through enemies. Compare it to, say Rick. Rick cannot fly at all, but he is relatively fast and has the ability to climb up walls, changing up the way you approach progressing through levels. It's nothing crazy groundbreaking, but it's a nice amount of variety, and each of the buddies mixes things up in their own way.
And like you said, it's only available for specific sections of the game that are designed for it. Meanwhile the buddies can be taken in to any level at any time. In fact, there are puzzles that require you to travel to previous levels for specific buddy/ability combinations for you to get a heart-star.
Speaking of heart-stars. I love that they actually require you to think outside of the box and really problem-solve to get a few of them. I'd like to see a Kirby newfag figure out how to assemble ROB without looking up a guide.
Marketing. Almost no legitimate leaks exist, they're always planned distribution of gameplay footage. You attract more views that way, when people think they're seeing something they shouldn't see. And when you make promotional content footage, it's almost always of someone playing who sucks, because you think "I can do better than that!" while watching and it makes you want to play.
Because it is the way god has intended it for us since the beginning of time.
I seriously thought the story mode and maybe some minigames thrown in would be the whole package, but now I might be a potential buyer
This actually makes more sense. It's all a diabolical ploy.
I have standards, if the game ends up being laggy as fuck I'll be really disappointed but I also don't obsesses over stupid shit like "WOAH 4K 200 FPS".
I care about actually important things like gameplay and music.
>It just has more mechanized enemies and more techno music.
That's my point though, it actually goes for a unique theme instead of being an (admittedly nice looking) rip off of Yoshi's Island's style.
>while Shimomura's titles are more focused on precision platforming than combat, hence the gimped flying I just mentioned.
And that's why I don't like them, I fucking loved Super Star for it's Beat-em-up style then Shimomura just went like "lol fuck that shit let's try to put focus on platforming something Kirby was never focused on!'
Now, this wouldn't be an issue if the playforming was good.
But it isn't. Just, """okay""".
I could honestly just play Mario if I wanted more engaging platforming.
Two bad only Kine, Rick and Nago are fun to use. Most of the animal buddy abilities are incredibly hit and miss, and boil down to "hey that's cool, too bad it's not very practical to use" meanwhile SS and nuKirby 95% of abilities are viable AND fun.
I will agree though that Kumazaki adds in some pretty shit gimmicks, which I'm glad Robobot and SA toned down heavily.
I'd take animal buddies over "Press X to win" any day.
I remember the leaker who was playing Super Mario Odyssey and he was terrible at everything except the mini games, where he managed to do Bound Bowl and jump rope on his first try
Meanwhile at the Legion of Brainlets...
Well if you do buy it you'll be glad to know that this Kirby game seems to have the most postgame content from what we know
If they're not going to add them back in a classic sense, then as Kirby's best friends, Rick, Coo, and Kine should be Kirby's go-to P2, P3, and P4. They have their different attributes and play styles, they're all big guys for you, and they should be able to copy any ability. Rick can eat by running at them with an open mouth, Kine can do a short gulp (perpetual like Kirby's inhale when in water), kine can grab an enemy and turn it into an abity star, then eat it when he lands. All of their powers would be pretty much the same as Kirby's, with some altered moves and unique animations between them. They can have hats or not, I would go with not but HAL probably wouldn't, but they should be able to use weapons like Sword, Hammer, Cutter, Beam, and Wing.
Kirby should be able to "piggyback" any one of them, and they can do one super move with each friend+ability combinations.
MOTHERFUCKING BUGZZY IN 2 DAYS. I didn't fuck it up this time!
>I care about actually important things like gameplay
This is always highly amusing coming from someone who's defending B-grade filler like Kirby
Good to hear that, cheers.
BASED BUGZZY POSTER
Kirby has fun gameplay, just like Mario and Metroid. And Classic Sonic
you're gay
It's really all about preferences when discussing about Dreamland 3. Some like the beat'em up, others like the platforming. Either way I like both games, but I could see why they each have their pros and cons about them. If anything, I think it makes these classic titles all the more special since they're a variety of different gameplay style while also keeping that certain Kirby'ish design.
you say that like it's a bad thing
COULD A HOMO THROW A MOTHERFUCKER LIKE THIS
Good to know that, cheers
YES ONE COULD
BE THE PROUD STRONK HOMOSEXUAL YOU OUGHT TO BE MOTHERFUCKERRRRRR
While I don't like it, I'm not gonna be a faggot and say others can't like it either, and I definitely won't be that faggot that throws a shit whenever a Shimomura character is posted mostly because his character designs are one of the few things I like about him. Kine is a bro and Dark Matter is fucking badass.
>I care about actually important things like gameplay
Obviously not if you think modern Kirby has fine game design and hate DL3 for not being your preferred style.
Is it just me who thinks there was going to be more to Battle Royale? I mean, why have a stage selection and stage names for each minigame when there is only one stage per minigame? And why are many of the characters who are fully programmed into the game (Bandana Dee, Axe Knight) not even playabe?
FUCK YOU, I WILL WRASSLE FOR VAGINAS AND YOU WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT.
You guys are reasonable people and I respect that.
>Super Star and the games that take after it are basically just 2D beat 'em ups with a small emphasis on platforming
Ehhh... It really depends. The Kumazaki games lean very heavily on the beat 'em up side of things, but Super Star does a little bit of everything, with individual rooms or sets of rooms tending to focus on a specific kind of challenge like skillful platforming, puzzle solving, careful precise flying, navigation challenges, beat 'em up sections with tons of midbosses, etc.
>only Kine, Rick and Nago are fun to use
Coo is fun because he's kind of an inversion of the other 3. He has the best flying ability in the game but you can ONLY fly with him, and it takes a good amount of skill to control his speed and make sure you don't kamikaze into shit.
I did jump rope on my first try.
Well, I got the first moon on my first try, stopped when I got it, then read dialogue telling me to go for 100, and then did it first try. I mean, if that counts.
Okay.
Ehh, I think he's better in DL2, though that's because I like DL2's controls more in general. Out of all of them it's my second favorite of the Dark Matter Trilogy. For me it goes 64 < DL2 < DL3
I actually have yet to play DL2. I was probably gonna play it tomorrow.
>Coo+Cutter in DL2 is godlike
>Coo+Cutter in DL3 is shit
Those sons of bitches. At least they fixed it for Star Allies.
I don't know, but what I do know is that the game was full of missed opportunities. It's one of the few games I really disliked from last year and I was pretty disappointed when they reveal it was all just Kirbies. Also the story mode was really lackluster and the only high point was the final boss, which I really love.
While it still has underlying issues for me that I have with Shimomura in general, I give a lot of it a pass mostly because A) it's a handheld game and B) it's genuinely better than it's predecessor for me.
Another reason I think I dislike DL3 so much is because even compared to DL2 I think it's a step down in quality.
IMO DL3 is just DL2 with more bullshit "puzzles", three more animal buddies, (only one of which is really great), and longer.
