Because it's not on PC.
dude horses lmao
Because it's really really good.
Add to it the fact that you can count every open world western with one hand and yea, it's not a surprise really. PCbros and Nintenkids are the only ones who don't like it.
The ending. People also really like cowboys
low standards because there are not that many western games
same thing with pirates and AC4
It's a decent simulation of a pretty boring ass world. Shooting is alright too I guess
SOY ALERTTTTTTT
RDR multiplayer was only fun until they patched heat seeking throwing knives. prove me wrong
Good history, gameplay and multiplayer mode.
...
Because you don't care for it and the world exists to troll you.
fpbp
I'm mainly a pcfag but I had an xbox for a while and I finished the game fully. It was really great. Hell, I even enjoyed undead nightmare.
Because it feels authentic. Everything from the GOAT physics, to the GOAT side activities to the GOAT setting.
Compare a recent open world juggernauts treasure hunting to the one in RDR for instance.
Witcher 3
>Find note describing a trasure
>"Hmm, winds howling"
>QUEST UPDATED
>Follow red footprints to the "hidden treasure" located 10m away
Red Dead Redemtpion:
>Find a map with a vague geographical hint
>Go find the treasure
No other open world game immersed me like RDR. The random encounters make even mundane things like trotting on your horse (which still to this day, are the best controlling horses in vidya) from one town to another will have a bunch of interesting things that may randomly occur, be it a man being hanged, a cannibal trying to eat you or a whole slew of other things that add to the immersion of the game.
Or why not ride down to Thieves landing and play Poker?
None of this even factors in the fantastic story mode.
TL;DR - It's an open world done right without the #1024041024 check lists that most open world games nowadays fall into, even BoTW with its cancerous shrines/Korok Seed shit.
It's really good.
because it's good, you fucking crayon eater. I know your generation venerates Minecraft and that's your standard, but it set the bar so low i could trip over it.
CDPR livin in ya head rent free
Because westerns are kino.

Because it's one of the best games of the last gen and it's even better enhanced.
>Sup Forums shits on ME for renegade/paragon
>Sup Forums praises RDR for an even worse version of renegade/paragon
Nah it was still fun
No fucking idea. It's a solid 8/10 because of the fun gunplay but that's it. Story is interesting too but it's not a fucking movie. It has the most boring open world imaginable.
This is why I love it. Sucks knowing 2 won't have this, and will most likely have physics as terrible as GTAV.
>Open world without survival/building/crafting shit (okay some crafting but the good kind)
>Cowboys, western and even more interesting by picking the last days of the wild west
>Actually interesting side activities like playing cards and dice, horse racing, cowboy shit
>Great story despite being cliche
>even greater ending
>Rockstar game, before mictrotransactions and GTA:O business model
>Gunplay done right
>Amazing soundtrack
>and i could fucking go on
I mean, it's pretty obvious why it was great. Might just pick my old xbox up from my parents some day to replay it before the sequel releases
