does this game live up to its ratings?

Attached: file.png (570x300, 383K)

no, nintendo clearly doesn't care for its left handed fans.

Attached: 1484812966951.png (294x258, 85K)

Yes, but it's desperately in need of a port or remake to the Switch so you don't have to deal with the chore of actually playing it on the 3DS. When it was released it was bundled with a stand specifically because playing it without one is harder/annoying.

>We cant have one Kid Icarus thread without handlet switchtards ruining it
>Using the stand
Jesus fucking Christ.

>handlet

The game was actually hard for me to play because my hands were too big.

Attached: Palutena Bath.jpg (715x1000, 298K)

You're an actual retard and likely weren't here when the game was popular because everyone complained about the game's controls.

People were asking for it to get ported to the fucking Wii U too.

Attached: 1397430441884.jpg (1000x750, 374K)

This. I mean I played and beat the game using the jank ass no stylus controls, but still.

heteros leave

not him, but he's spot on. We either need a Switch port of KI:U or a sequel to KI:U. Remember, it was originally supposed to be a console game in the first place. So there is no reason why one of the most underrated games of the decade shouldn't get more exposure. Improve the controls, add some more difficulty levels and some extra content and you got yourselves a magnum fucking opus.

Attached: Hades.jpg (792x825, 321K)

No. It's average at best and an absolute insult to the series.

>We can't have a Kid Icarus thread without Uprisingtards ruining it
Jesus fucking Christ.

Idiots complained about the games controls while everyone else mocked them.

no

Attached: medusa.jpg (1100x1600, 647K)

my primary concern is the weapon mechanics
every weapon you get always seemed so arbitrary, and fusing weapons into seemingly random combinations and by random i mean junk like blade+blade=orbitars; it makes no sense only adds to the confusion
it ends up being really tedious in getting the one you want, much less with quality stats or perks

and the fact that some weapons are locked behind accomplishments only makes the tedium worse

Attached: file.png (258x130, 37K)

Nah the controls are pure shit. Seriously, try to defend the fucking item switching controls, I dare you.

>Being this mad Sakurai stole characters from Chinese knockoff metroid

>Improve the controls
>By bringing it to a couple sole with to resistive touchscreen and only one touchscreen
The only way to improve the controls would be a PC port. Gyro aiming is not as good as the touchscreen aiming of KI:U. It's not as accurate, it's not as fast, and it can't do 180 flips.

We've had this conversation a million times and it always ends with you idiots proven wrong and then bitching. Just fuck off.

Attached: 1519687561662.jpg (807x659, 42K)

A sequel for the Switch would be awesome.
Fuck off.

Attached: 1401509185692.png (500x425, 146K)

Medusa is cute. CUTE.

Console with a resistive*

Fuck I'm retarded
No resistive*

Attached: 1404963542575.jpg (1590x1488, 1.26M)

You're all fags, the controls are a fucking dream.
You don't need to bang your hand like an idiot, you just flick and tap and you can aim incredibly quickly and precisely. It's the single best use of a touch screen in any video game.

The port should have been on the Wii U, the switch would dumb down the controls.

the only random thing about weapon fusion was which abilities and stars got carried over, the actual types and variations that were made as the result of two inputs were always the same. There are guides online.

Can you play it on citra with a mouse properly?

Being one of the few who enjoyed the control scheme, I would much rather see a sequel. Mostly because I just want more of the characters, I loved most of the cast.

It's cool as hell. Would be better with a port to Switch of a sequel. It was great in retrospect to see the director Sakurai do something again that wasn't Smash because he's so talented.

>The port should have been on the Wii U
this is so true it's a sin that it didn't happen

right right, i had already clicked post when i remembered that
it's just the heart grinding that's the problem for me

and chapter 20 on 9.0 really doesn't cut it

>The few who liked it
It's literally the same few retards like the autist who's upset Uprising wasn't a sidescroller coming into the thread each time.

>Chinese knockoff metroid
Kid Icarus was an amalgamation of Mario, Zelda, and Metroid with a cool as fuck Greek Mythology theme.

You fuck off.

Attached: 1389326369669.jpg (500x500, 83K)

So are Komaytos metroids?

Attached: Komayto.png (200x227, 100K)

No, don't be ridiculous, they're completely different and to suggest otherwise is absurd.

Yeah I'd say so
Charming humor, fun gameplay once you get the hang of controls, weapon collecting/upgrading is enjoyable, great difficulty slider, best multiplayer game on 3ds

Good game that doesn't get the credit it deserves. Like many suggest a remake/sequel where the controls are improved would be absolutely fantastic.

But they look almost identical.

>control complaints
Are you guys wristlits? My fingers are long and thin and I was still able to play the game fine, and I much prefer that control setup over twin stick.

Attached: Older Viridi.png (600x1220, 795K)

Merely a coincidence, there are plenty of animals with four teeth-legs and a jelly dome. Besides, Metroids typically have a green dome whereas Komaytos are typically blue.

I must be some kind of freak since I had 300 hours in Kid Icarus and 1000+ in Monster Hunter on my 3DS and my wrists haven't exploded

>People want a port instead of a sequel

Attached: 1466481962675.png (700x586, 309K)

Phosphora for Smash.

Attached: 1502644340685.jpg (751x1063, 110K)

I thought it was great
Online was surprisingly fun
But yeah, we need either a switch port or a switch sequel
I know it's a dead horse being beat, but while you do get used to them
Kid Icarus Uprising + better controls will make a near perfect game

Attached: 1414119721070.jpg (500x549, 161K)

>That chapter where you slowly fly around Medusa's ass and side cleavage.

I fucking love this game.

>Not having a Nerf case for the grip.
>Not changing the controls to go stylus-less.

I could literally play it for hours and I have big hands. Same for Street Fighter 4 and MonHun. The problem is with the system itself and not the game.

>Not wanting both

Attached: 1466984422315.jpg (539x552, 30K)

>left handedfags seething to this day
OH NO NO NO

Attached: 123.jpg (1245x703, 167K)

Yes, one of the best games on the 3DS. If you are left handed or have tiny hands don't bother. The controls take some time to get used to but once you do you are in for a ride. Great use of the 3D effect, probably the best one on the 3DS games, amazing music, good variety of enemies, cool characters, okay level design. pretty long for a 3DS game, actually hard in the hardest difficulty, lots of collectibles like trophies and shit, fun online (at release), some fanservice to other Nintendo games and alot to the first Kid Icarus game (if you haven't played it I recommend the 3D Classics version), and god tier UI.

I'd rather have an new Kid Icarus by Sakurai than a new Smash

tfw multiplayer is dead

>left handedfags seething about how companies don't want to cater to their 10% disability

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 77K)

Live up to? More like the ratings undersell it massively.

No better game has been released since, on any platform.

Look at all these AR cards you'll never ever have.

>Chico from Peace Walker died and became a wise-cracking angel with enough dakka to literally kill gods

It's honestly kind of an amazing thought.

Attached: 1381619421357.jpg (1440x810, 218K)

I still use the fucking stand it came when playing other games like Ace Attorney. Use it with my phone and the Switch too. Convenient as fuck.

Also yeah Uprising was amazing.

some of them were rare and japan exclusive so I didn't bother. atleast there's a database and you can scan them online. I'm also happy I got Pit, Dark Pit and Palutena on my copy of the game

The chapter 14 boss fight on 9.0 is impossible to do with something so slow as gyro aiming or replacing the stylus with the right stick

Attached: Kid Icarus Uprising playthrough.jpg (641x359, 27K)

I see a lot of praise for its writing, but aside from Hades and the one Pittoo joke I hated most all of the dialogue. It leaned way too hard on lampshading tropes. If I know otakus fucking slurp that shit up, but it didn't do it for me at all.

The core gameplay was really fun, and it gets a lot of mileage using the one button. If Soccerguy didn't decide to limit himself to one button I think he might've been able to make something truly special, but what's there already is good enough to carry a full game.

Attached: please use the wiiu gamepad.gif (320x213, 1.3M)

That stand does work well with the Switch? I should break mine out.

>slow as gyro aiming

I'm left handed and I didn't mind the controls I had

move with circle pad
shoot with L
aim reticle with ABXY
powers with d-pad

i do wish nintendo would at least consider the old 2D style again
it was like nintendo's own version of megaman with a dash of zelda
combine that with the weapons of uprising and it'd be a hit

Attached: Screen Shot 2018-03-18 at 10.45.12 PM.png (1316x1148, 489K)

It's downright sluggish compared to touchscreen
