I'm playing through 5 for the first time right now, currently Shinada. I don't see what people were complaining about other than maybe too many characters. The Haruka section was pretty annoying.
I liked 5, but you can easily get burned out playing it because of how huge it it. I really enjoyed the hunting minigame with Saejima but didn't care much about the other except Kiryu, I am a fag for Kiryu though so that is to be expected.
Yeah, when it first took me away from Kiryu I was not thrilled but then the Haruka section was a lot worse. Not that I don't like Haruka but man, I don't want to keep doing handshake minigames, dance offs, etc.

Yep, there was nothing else you could do in her sessions. I liked the dancing minigame though, didn't have a lot of songs.

I wish I had more good screenshots from my Ishin playthrough but SEGA blocks the capture function everywhere except premium adventure mode. Game actually ran better than 0 and Kiwami on a regular PS4.
SEGA and the Ryu Ga Gotoku team are a lot more aware of how people want more Yakuza, recently their reps even joked something about "Oh I thought there would be only questions about Ishin" or something like that.

Its a game for Hokuto no Ken fans. I am a very big fan of that series.
I fucking loooooove the aesthetic and atmosphere of the first two games (at native PS2 resolution), especially Yakuza 2 had fantastic cinematography. Felt kind of Oshii at times and reminded me especially of Patlabor 2.
Wish they would hurry up with PS4 ports of 3-5 I want to continue playing the series and the Kiwami remakes are taking too long. Trying to sourca a PS3 and games is just way too much of a hassle, and it's going to be ages if they ever get emulatable (currently getting ~10fps in Y3 on a 4.3Ghz i5.)
I don't know about you but for some reason I'm pleasantly suprised whenever I hear Korean in a video game, albeit there's very little Korean lines in 6. Just seems so rare. Great boss theme.

I warn you though, while it has a very great plot and interesting events there is some filler as some later episodes were being made faster than the manga author could publish them. I think around episode 82 theres like 5 straight episodes of kenshiro just "reminiscing" about past events. Thats 5 episodes of flashbacks. useful in 1986 but now a days you can just skip them.

I got the demo from the japanese psn and I had lots of fun with it even though it is pretty limited. Combat feels better than on Y6.
Kiwami 2 definitely has its flaws, and I absolutely don't think that it replaces the original 2 like a lot of fags will claim, but how far must your head be stuck up your own ass to claim the remake is "a worse game"?
Yakuza 1+2 were on Wii U only in Japan but they both looked like garbage and sold even worse than they looked.

It's a great game, but again, I'm a huge fan of the series and will buy anything FotNS related. The substories are great, the story reminds me of 6's in terms of the twists, and the distractions and minigames are standard Yakuza fare. Bartending game is a nice addition. Killing thugs with different techniques never gets old, and you can actually juggle in the game. Voice acting is top notch from the Yakuza cast, and the girls are cute too.

I also miss the locked Survivor Horror style camera. It gave the game and it's areas much more character.
