>nintendo had one failing console
>"they're going third party!"
They had 2. Gamecube was a dud. Nintendo have been floundering in the core gamer home console market since n64
The issue is Nintendo’s third party in general so the Wii U tank made the already noticeable shitposting even bigger
ironically Nintendo is so stubborn that if they kept failing they'd just take their IPs with them and use them in other media outside of games rather then let other people have them
It's just autistic Segafags who never got over the early 2000s
MAYBE IM FOOLISH
And then they bounced back with the Wii being a huge success.
It wasn't even shitposting. Everyone outside of Sup Forums were saying the same thing.
At least Switch got Doom...
The only worthwhile game in that chart was already ported to Switch.
As they should, don't give your enemies the satisfaction of victory.
>Gamecube was a dud
>made more money for jewtendo then the box or soystation for their parents
This. It even implied that Mass Effect Andromeda was going to be good.
>Someone seriously thought Nintendofags give a fuck about Ass Effect or that anyone would care about it not being on the system
>Gamecube was a dud.
Nintendo made a crazy profit on GameCube, especially with licensing from it's proprietary disc medium.
Meanwhile the original X-Box lost Microsoft about $10 BILLION.
Your idea of 'losing' is warped.
Their console were selling worse every year, but I legitimately think they'd just disband the company before going third party
Nintendo games sell as well as they do because they adjust the criteria of quality. No one judges Nintendo games based on their visual fidelity
wtf was this picture trying to even imply
>both of these pictures assuming Mass Effect Andromeda would be worthwhile
They still have enough Wii bucks to launch five more failing consoles before going broke.
Keep dreaming.
>Their console were selling worse every year
160 million DS units don't count!
100 million Wii's don't Count!
70 million 3DS units don't count!
Isn't the only thing on that list that's on switch doom?
>Their console were selling worse every year
Didn't the Switch completely obliterate the,WiiU's lifetime sales in the first few months?
The only two Nintendo consoles that have been legit profit losing failures for the company are
the virtual boy, and the Wii U.
That's it.
Everything else have been moderate successes such 64 and GC to mega-hits like the DS and Wii. So far Switch is trending to mega-hit side of things even.
People actually thought the NES would fail.
Nintendo: Doomed since 1985.
"Nintendo needs to lick the assholes of Western devs or else they'll be out on the streets in a few months"
With the exception of the Wii, the mainline consoles sold fewer with each successive generation.
Not selling poorly (except for the Wii U) but selling worse, largely due to having more competition and shifting tastes
>were
>past tense
The game cube sold less than the 64 which sold less than the SNES. The Wii is the odd man out but generally the increase in competition has had the most dramatic effect on Nintendo. Thankfully, the Switch has been fixing a lot of that
To be fair. The North American market had just crashed and everyone though it video games were just a fad.
And is Nintendo any closer to being third party?
>the Wii U
If I recall correctly, the Wii U itself wasn't a profit failure, in the sense that as usual the console was sold at a profit per unit and it did support several profitable first party games. Probably even made good bucks off their lesser titles due to being first party, a major reason to be a hardware manufacturer. The overall posted losses came more from having to seriously restructure the company and R&D being needed. I guess the way to look at it is Nintendo relied upon the Wii U's profits being high enough to offset their other costs that did not have short term profits attached to them and it seriously under-performing cost them there.
It was back at a time before the Switch came out and people thought it was doomed to be another Wii U flop. One of the reasons people thought it would flop is a lack of third-party support, just like Wii U, and that Nintendo was at a serious risk of going third-party themselves if they didn't have enough of a draw to the Switch.
3 Actually
>Virtual Boy
>Gamecube (albeit sold alright)
>Wii U
>Will the Switch get a Bethesda game that isn't 5 years old.
I don't think any console is getting that in the foreseeable future.
