Dark Messiah

100% this
you need perfect depth perception, and its fucking hard to tell how long your sword/spear actually is in first person.

Condemned

t.ladyboys

Escape from Butcher Bay

Vermintide and Dying Light are the only two first person games I've found with really meaty hits. When I swing a big ass fucking hammer right to left, I better see shit fly

go back to mobile games soyshit

well at least this time you posted an opinion and tried to make a point instead of resorting to shitty buzzwords. Although it is a moot point, it doesnt matter how long ago or how many games use first person melee, they are all inferior to the glorious fighting game format.

>tried and tested

Yeah, and that testing revealed that it's shit.
Melee combat has never been the strength of the first-person perspective.

Why is it that games like Vermintide do it so well then?

I thought that dead island successor game did it really well for the most part
With unbreakable weapons cheats it felt good

Kingdom come is mostly good, but some of the finer mechanics let it down. The combos suck and are not generally worth doing when you can just clinch/head-smash every fight.

Oblivion

This. One of the many reasons Riddick is great.

>furiously mashing leftclick untill the opponent dies
no oblivion combat is worse than skyrim's

It's kinda ironic that, making this argument, you're posting a picture of one of the few games that did first person melee right.
