Indie thread

I feel like this year and the last are new indie renaissance years, like there are just so many polished indie games either coming out of early access coming out in general/getting sequels this year or and the last on switch and PC, games that are (in my opinion) good enough to make it on the top ten in genre or at least be a game that gets recommended to play for a long time from now on. Like, seriously, I can name so many that are pretty good/very promising.

>Slay the Spire
>Dead Cells
>Crosscode
>Iconoclasts
>Spelunky 2
>Super meat boy 2
>Monolith
>Into the Breach
>Rain World
>Factorio
>Sonic Mania
>Battle Chef Brigade
>Oxygen Not Included
>Bloodstained
>Slime Rancher
>Cuphead
>Celeste
>Pit People
>Siralim 3
>Hat in Time
>Hollow Knight
>Enter the Gungeon AD&D(I wish).

and etc, the list is pretty big

To the top

Subnautica

I HAVE PLAYED MANY SLAY THE SPIRE AND I DESIRE FRIENDS FROM THE INTERNET'S Sup Forums TO DISCUSS IT

Bought LISA and Oneshot since they were on sale. Anyone played Synthetik? How is it?

calm down user

I'm sorry, I just got worked up because last time I tried to get some people to talk about StS with nobody added me and it was very upsetting.

I'm right here user, no need to shout.

That's the spirit I wanted in this thread, go get'em user

I played it, and it's really good, the combat is really fast, the graphics are great, and (I know they aren't for everyone) the difficulty sliders are good.

Also, seriously user, you should make a dedicated thread for it if you want or go on the roguelike thread on vg, StS dominates the frontpage of Sup Forums often

Slay the spire is probably one of the dumbest indie games ive seen in a while and im surprised its being mentioned here. Theres like 1 song in it. Its basically a low effort flash game made in a single day.

I was avoiding Celeste because of the IGN rating being meme tier, but I was honestly very surprised by how "decent" it is. I now understand why they gave that perfect 10 score, it's not that the game is mind blowing awesome, but it's so well put together that saying bad things about it feels wrong.

If anything the only negative thing I'd say is the game does get a bit tiresome at some point, just repeating the same formula like 3 levels in a row with some minor change at the end. So I'd reccomend playing it in 2 or more sittings, marathonining the game might be more frustrating than intended.

I played it, and when I finished it I went "eh it's okay, 8ish out of 10", but then I found out about all the bonus areas and the door that needs 4 hearts and thought it was a pretty great experience actually, then when I beat that 4 hearts door I found that 15 hearts door and found out there's actually a third layer of super duper bonus areas and a lot of secrets and agreed with the 10 rating.

Like, the game is really big and never feels badly made at any point, and all the areas feel tough, but fair, and you always want to see the next challenge.

You weren't there for me when I was looking for StS friends, and now I'm bitter and angry. Society shunned me and now it must pay the price. The price being me not having Steam pals who enjoy talking about a children's card game.

I made a thread on Sup Forums a few days ago, not much happened. And I assumed roguelike general wouldn't approve since last time I looked in there they were largely DCSS or bust and ree'd at anything roguelite rather than like.

What are some vidya that you were looking forward to but will never ever be released?

Anyone else played Flinthook? I've sunk around 20 hours into it and am having a good time. Some nice pixel animation.

Also playing slay the spire a bit. Got all the unlocks for the Ironclad. Music's great.

t. normie who doesn't understand that games are about gameplay

I actually forgot to list it, which is weird since I have it right here

It's pretty good, but it felt short to me.

Wait, 15 hearts?? how the fuck you get that many shieeet.... glad I didn't uninstall it yet then.

Is Legion TD 2 worth it?
I want to play it but can't really justify 20€ pricetag, especially with a small and potentially shrinking playerbase.

There's one different heart for each side of a map and there's A-Side(normal), B-Side, and C-Side.

C-Side is such a well hidden secret I legit didn't believe it when I found out there's something even harder than B-Side, for every level, it's a big part of why I bumped it to 10/10.

What do you guys think of Dead Cells, I like roguelites and everybody seems to love it, but I can't help but to find it dull.

Along with StS, it's one of the best indies of the year IMO.

What makes it so fun is that there's so many weapons, there's maybe 50 weapons and they all have different attack patterns, looks, ways to get a crit, there's lots of things to unlock, there's 4 bosses which are all very hard.

It just has a lot of different things to look out for and try and that makes it fun, IMO.
