How many games use DirectX 12? Serious question.
No one cares. DX-to-Vulkan is already a thing, and many games already run at near-full speed on it. AND IT'S NOT EVEN OUT YET.
Three (3).
All Windows Store "exclusives". All mediocre-at-best trash.
Exactly 12
>Vulkan
DOA
It's going to be optimized for Volta
DirectX 12 exclusives:
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
Forza Motorsport 6: Apex
Halo 5: Forge
Forza Horizon 3
Gears of War 4
Halo Wars 2
Forza Motorsport 7
Wiki pages say more than 28.
>practically everyone and their mothers adopting it
>generally works better than DX
>open-source and platform = no OS requirements
>Wolf2 was Vulkan only
...so how is this thing "dead" exactly?
If anything, DX12 is the new DX10 here: fucking stupid and pointless.
very neat, although the sampling rate is quite low and it desperately needs de-noising.
the EA demo seems to have higher sample rates but that framerate looks like shit.
idiots itt not realising how long people have been dreaming about realtime raytracing
Vulkan is going to be like Open GL, forever behind MS's DirectX
So 28 released games use DirectX 12 and only 7 of them use it exclusively.
I'm curious if most devs use older versions of DirectX or if they use alternatives like OpenGL and Vulkan.
The DX12 is going to be more used as Windows 10 is getting more used.
they use older versions, duh
most PC gamers are still on windows7
>Remedy demo
MY DICK
QUANTUM BREAK 2 WITH RAY TRACED LIGHTING
Vulkan is more stable then Dx12 though, and hardware assisted raytracing is more for the CAD and professional modeling world then it is gaming.
A lot of devs just aren't comfortable yet with DX12. Quantum Break originally released on the windows store with DX12 only, and it ran like absolute crap on Nvidia cards IIRC. Then a steam version came out with DX11 only, ran a lot better on Nvidia but iirc was about the same for AMD cards. The windows store version never got a DX11 or performance update, and never will.
No it fucking won't, dude. It's been 3 years and 7 mediocre Microsoft forced exclusives is all there is.
And what graphics card am I supposed to use this with?
>tons of artifacts
Why even bother? Nobody will be able to use it except for pre-rendered content and for that realtime performance doesn't matter.
>Vulkan is going to be like Open GL, forever behind MS's DirectX
If you say so.
It's already ABOVE the DX in practically all possible ways.
MS' shooting themselves in the foot harder each year. They just announced that they're introducing a W10 update that'll make latest OGL and older DX versions incompatible with the OS.
No way they'll fucking do that. DX9 and 11 are far too essential... games still come out using those APIs.
Vermintide 2 just came out
>No way they'll fucking do that.
They can, and they will. It's just another console-gaming trend they're trying to jam down PC bros' throats now: remove the "backwards compatibility", for the sake of selling new games AND re-releases of old games for the customers.
AMD already cut DX9 support from their latest GPUs. Not shitting ya.
And it keeps getting worse: Now MS is stating that soon ALL PC games will be RENTED from their 60$ / month gaming service.
>he actually believes this
haha wow
>tfw still on my gtx 660
Waiting was worth it
It's $10 and can be $2 on sales at CD ket. try harder cuck
You sissyserious?
what is dx, vulkan etc even?
a graphic driver?
3d libraries
if you don't know what a library is, google man
>They just announced that they're introducing a W10 update that'll make latest OGL and older DX versions incompatible with the OS.
Source?
That sounds like bullshit fearmongering, provide sources, nigger.
ugly
>yeah, lets just fucking use dx11 until 2030
