Shoryuken is invincible so he won't get hit before it comes out but I'm pretty sure that the claw player is coming in at an angle where the shoryuken will miss and he'll just get hit.

Looking at the webm. I think the Shoryuken would've been able to hit at least a couple of claws cross-ups. Eitherway the Ken player should've at least tried it.

You can see he tries to dp the first 2 and it gets stuffed. It just doesn't work vs Claw, he doesn't get hit by the 1st part of shoryu and the invuln wears off while Claw's attack is still active.

ST is a pile of glitchy crap that for whatever reason the washed up old veterans seem to love.

It isn't just 1st frame, you're correct. However, Claw is outside of the actual hitbox of the dp and Claw's hitbox remains active. So the invuln from dp wears off while Claw is still in the air and active and Ken takes the hit. Claw can actually do this from both sides and it's why you see the Claw player hovering basically directly above the Ken until the last moment, it forces a safe 50/50 that sets up the same situation

It's probably because they are playing super mario street fighter. This is exactly why this shit isn't taken seriously, because there are various different versions that play differently.
That's why people hate DSP because he won a tournament playing some shitty broken street fighter when he's obviously a scrub who should have been eliminated in the first round.

No it’s because the reversal frame gets skipped by the turbo algorithm. St didn’t buffer skipped frames like the later games with turbo.

It’s actually not a dp. It’s a tatsu. Damien is an execution autist and loves to do the os where’s it either dps one side or tatsus the other. But tatsu isn’t an invincible reversal, so it gets beat by walldive.

His options are to guess as block or guess and DP. Unfortunately that claw player was Mao and is one of the strongest claws that travel and play ST.

The thing is his best option was to avoid this situation entirely and he picked O.Ken to do just that. O.Kens fierce DP completely shuts down claws wall dive outside of a setup to start this blender.

What current fighting game players need to learn is that there are times when the best strategy is to not get in a situtation in the first place.
