This is also the case to a smaller extent with the opening and ending dialogues of Symphony of the Night, especially when compared to the re-done voice acting in DXC which sounds like shit.

The OVA is actual kino, though.
That's how I felt about the soundtracks of Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Xenoblade X, and Persona 3-5.
I used to think it was bad when I first heard it but it really grew on me, I can't imagine OVA sonic in anything other than his slightly annoyed preppy english dub voice.
XBX is all over the place. Some songs are good, some are so bad they loop around to being good and others are just plain bad.
