How can a film be good if the execution is bad? Fair enough Anakin's fall was good but everything else was atrocious. When you have to ignore the writing to enjoy the story you know something's up

The choice that presented itself to Anakin wasn't that bad, It's that all the shit leading up to it was stupid, and Anakin's character never once endeared himself to the audience. He was just an emo douchebag that Natalie Portman somehow was supposed to fall In love with, despite the myriad of red flags surrounding his personality.

I like the general concept of movie 1, but it had a lot of bad shit in it too. The entire Anakin and Jarjar plots should've been cut out in fact, and had it just be a Qui-Gon + Kenobi deal with trade federations problem movie. Count Dooku, General Grevious, and Darth Maul were all fine villains. The idea of an unknown enemy influencing the senate is neat.

Have Anakin show up in Clone Wars, no need to introduce him as a kid.

Dark Souls 2. A good game on its own that expanded and explored more ideas of the original. But then people keep complaining that it isn't the original. So then you get a mess that reverts back and jams everything people remember about the original into it (DS3/Nu Star Wars).

So a game that was objectively shit but it was a big part of people's childhoods and some people still replay it because they legitimately liked it?

You missed the point. It Dodged what made the originals great in the first place and therefore has little to no reason to wear the name.Thats the point of sequels, being better not worse. It could have been calles slashy souls 2 and noone would have said a shit. Same shit with metal gear survive

I loved the Prequels as a child, but fell into the meme contrarian hate trend that everyone was doing too. Now I regret the fake hate I did, and I still love the Prequels because they are the perfect Space Opera. Over Dramatic and fun, but serious when it needs to be.

Prequels may be shit but they're way better than the NuStar Wars shit we're getting today.

Having Anakin was essential to tie it into the main movies in an impactful way though. Without Anakin the movie is just "the Obi Wan backstory movie" and it would have probably been a better film, but would have been bad for the brand. It would be called a spinoff and people would be questioning why it wasn't just made as a spinoff rather than part one of a trilogy.
