>some upgrades are ridiculously hard to acquire, and that's not for challenging purposes, they're just stupidly hard because devs thought so. There was a specific heart container I just left behind because it wasn't worth it. Remember the Shoryuken walkthrough in MMX2? Much worse.
Nothing, but it still did shit better than ZX:A.
both are pretty average games when you put them next to Zero series, but yeah, the first one did some shit better. The 2nd game had better boss fights and a better sub-weapon/transform system.
>Shitting on advent
off yourself
The map system, it's the only reason I don't replay it more even though I replay the Zero series pretty often.
I didn't like the transforming system that much. Would have liked it more if you just got a weapon like most of the games.
Wait I thought this was a what went wrong thread fuck
Definitely not the map.
Everything but the map.
Big clunky transformations suck ass.
I liked this game right until they took away your cool blue armor.
Skinsuits.
>X armor is lost until a second playthrough
FUCKING LAME
I love this guy art, it has that doujin feeling to it.
Because he does do(u)jins. Glad he's coming back for Inti's new game.
The doujins he has done are fucking perfection.
I was talking more in the sense of "independent work" but it's okay i guess. care to share
Most things.
third playthrough. you have to play as both Vent and Aile to get it back
>Biometal X is three times as hard to get as Biometal OMEGA
fuck off
ZX artist was Makoto Yabe (the guy Wayforwad hired for Pirate's Curse), Dragon Marked For Death is bringing Toru Nakayama (Zero series and a fuckton of porn) back.
Mega Man games are meant to be beaten over and over. Hiding Biometal X behind two playthroughs is basically nothing.
Not the "removing the japanese voices" part, but otherwise lots of things.
So long since I unlocked it back I even forgot you lose it. That was pretty lame too, yeah.
>ZX artist was Makoto Yabe
I-It wasn't Toru?! Fuck.
I just hate how biased Inti is towards Zero.
The idea of a Mega Man metroidvania is great and it would have been perfect if the map in ZX was actually helpful. Also I really liked that unlike the Zero series, you actually get concrete rewards from bosses in the form of Biometals.
ZX3 never ever.
It took the MMZ gameplay and did something that was actually decent with it.
Actually according to one of the developers that's her skin, not a skin suit
She is a reploid, after all.
Honestly that game was great and it had tons of good ideas but fans didn't realize the amazingness of Biometals.
Imagine a Zero game but instead of having Zero as the only playable character, you start with Zero and unlock Harpuia Mode. It's the same game, but you can play as Harpuia, which has a vastly different moveset. Well, there's also Fefnir Mode, Leviathan Mode and Phantom Mode. Also X Mode if you're nostalgic.
If Inti announced MMZ5 would have Zero and the Four Guardians as playable characters, people would lose their shit. Biometals are so much more than what they appear.
Everything but the useless ingame map. Best damn Mega Man action-platformer.
>that's her skin
Why would her face be a different color then?
Also Aile is a human, just modified to live longer somehow. I'm pretty sure she still has flesh, they're not full on androids now.
The problem is most modes outside of Zero and Harpuia suck ass, and the new weapon energy system is shitty.
It was Inafune that was still calling the shots then, Zero is his obsession.
The only mode that is inefficient is Leviathan. Phantom and Fefnir are really powerful options and are pretty fun
This is from the 25th anniversary art book
>He wasn't good enough to get boss skills
No one gets A and S ranks on their first playthrough of Zero 2. No one.
Also I eventually did get them and found out I wasn't even missing much because most of them are shit and nowhere near as good or fun to use as Zero's abilities in the X series.
I'm still mad we didn't get his Biometal
Maybe he wasn't strong enough to make a Biometal out of.
He was just a weaker X though. Even Zero says so.
Wouldn't see any reason for there to be a Copy X Biometal when there's a Biometal based off the real X
I don't care about lore, I just want to play the Ultimate Armor in Mega Man ZX.
ZX's engine >>>>> X4's engine
Lewd.
I liked that they ditched ranking and cyber elves, but I think the "don't damage the biometals" system was even worse. I wish they just went with Z3/Z4 cyber elves.
Also the map system wasn't "confusing". It was an abomination.
Thank goodness you realized your mistake
>fans didn't realize the amazingness of Biometals.
Individually they're alright, but they don't work well within the game. It feels like shit having to switch between them, and ZX is too effective compared to the rest most of the time.
>If Inti announced MMZ5 would have Zero and the Four Guardians as playable characters, people would lose their shit. Biometals are so much more than what they appear.
I still say they need to release a MMZ0 with playable guardians. They already have the entire engine from ZX/A.
>No one gets A and S ranks on their first playthrough of Zero 2. No one.
You just replay the stage until you get A/S you idiot. Doing this is what makes you a better player. You're not supposed to just charge through and survive the stage. You're meant to ace the Zero games.
I thought the ZX series was an improvement over the Zero series. Also, the Zero games are NOT hard. At all. It's standard Megaman difficulty.
>replay the stages until you get A/S rank
That just sounds tedious as fuck, why would I do that on my first playthrough? I just hate the system in Z2 and Z3. Imagine if you had to get a good rank to get boss weapons in Mega Man 2.
I'm glad Z4 at least made it a guarantee that you get EX Skills if you play the harder version of the stage. See, that's a good tradeoff.
This is true mostly because you can airdash out of a ground dash. The fact that it didn't work in the x games bothered me to no end
>MMZ0
>Mega Man Zero Zero
Wat
>That just sounds tedious as fuck, why would I do that on my first playthrough?
Because there're basically 2 ways to play Zero games. You can either brute force your way through, or you can basically treat getting a B as a gameover. The game is designed for the second way of playing through. You're expected to grind stages 4-5 times before going for your "golden" run, where you slice through enemies like a knife through butter, dance through projectiles, and manhandle the bosses after having mastered their patterns. In turn, those Ex-Skills make the later game a lot easier.
Inti perfected the Mega Man game loop in Z2.
It is the perfect name.
Honestly I never really needed that many tries to maintain an A rank.
*ruins your story
Your mileage may vary. Certainly there are spots that require more tries/finesse to get through cleanly.
You might as well have just posted this user.
What do you mean ruin? Sure the other megamen weren't super interesting (looking at you Siarnaq) but the idea was fun. P&P getting chumped was weak though.
>story
stop this
No
We got Ashe from it. So it's cool.
ZX art book where?
>everyone has partly bionic bodies, to the level they can swap out their skin if they want
>never meet anyone with dicks instead of fingers
wow unrealistic/10
Id build reploids with a fear of heights and stilts for legs. Or reploids in the shape of urinals or outhouses and unable to do anything but scream
Post best waifus
>A man named Albert wants to unleash Uroboros
I like how it showed Resident Evil 5 plot two years earlier
Reminder that you, in fact, cannot waifu a robot. No matter what Ciel says. She's a biased teenager.
I loved how retarded it was. Specially the retarded voice acting.
That's the spirit.
Sure I can.
How old was she? I don't remember since it's been a decade but I remember her lusting for zero's non-existing cock.
14
Screw her, she's a ho
I want to commit a crime.
Blah, too old
>tfw you remember the internet trying to paint the fanbase as sexist during the MN9 debacle when all they've ever wanted was more female protags.
So she was like 17 at the end of the series right?
bad
>not being able to use Model X on it's own after acquiring ZX
WHERE THE FUCK IS PRAIRIE
WHY THE FUCK IS VENT/AILE THE LEADER OF THE GUARDIANS NOW
WHY ARE THE GUARDIANS LITERALY WHOS
WHY FUCKING LEAVE THAT CLIFFHANGING ENDING THAT SETS UP ACTUAL CONNECTIONS AND NEVER DELIVER AGAIN
CAPCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Inafune left the company, that happened.
Funny you post Aile because I think she's 18 by the time of ZX Advent
I don't remember how much time passed between Zero 3 and 4 but she's around 15-ish by the time of Zero 3.
ZX was pretty great. It's a little jarring going from the super somber tone of the Zero series to what feels a lot more OG upbeat series, even though ZX had some pretty grounded theming going on.
But the fucking map. Who here found that fucking stair to get to the burning city on the first try? It stands just out of fucking reach. If you're not using Model Hx to air dash around you'll be running like an idiot around the map for half an hour I know I did
ZXA could have been much better and half the pseudoroid transformations were fucking useless in battle and not fun to use. Who the fuck ever used bifrost? But I'll admit that the level design of ZXA was super fucking cool and I wish that was the world ZX started off with.

>Those leg shots and voice
Unf.
>Ciel was a fucking teenager
God damn it. I was so fucking convinced she was in her early 20's at most through those games, it just seemed to make sense. What the fuck Japan
Still the superior mega waifu
Model H. This and its sequel are great, very solid level and boss design all around, gorgeous and my favourite soundtracks in the entire MM series. Prometheus & Pandora and Serpent were awesome fights.
>Because there're basically 2 ways to play Zero games. You can either brute force your way through, or you can basically treat getting a B as a gameover.
That's literally any game with ranking system. What a dumb declaration.
>hey guize did you no that it's hard to get bestest rank on every mission in [video game]?
what the fuck is this digimon shit in my mega man?
She is a genetically modified genius, so I guess I can give you a pass on mistaking her for a consenting adult.
Her whole thing was being a super young smart girl. She was only 8-9 when she made Copy X too.
>bro her iq is like 220 dude it's legal
>aile canonically shows midriff
I want to lick it.
Who's gonna call you out on it in this barren apocalyptic wasteland of a world?
I'm still gonna ignore that and just think of her as a 20 year old or something
Not even for waifu reasons, I just think it's stupid otherwise. 20 year old is still pretty fucking young for all the genius level shit she pulled, but it's mostly about how mature and dedicated she is throughout all the games. She acts like she's got her shit together most of the time and it just feels more interesting like that.
When and where did she get juiced up on genius augmentation, anyway?
Looking at her official artwork I would have assumed she was around 15 or 16. Ciel isn't even an outer:
>Roll Caskett and Tron are both 14
>Heck the original Roll is practically a 10 year old
She was more or less genetically made to be a genius since birth.
Let's put it to rest.
Omega vs Zero or Weil Vs Zero, which was more hype?
>That's literally any game with ranking system. What a dumb declaration.
Sure, any game with a ranking system, and the entire skill system is based explicitly on the rank, inability to back track to redo stages for better rank, rank is computed based on a lagged average of scores rather than per stage and doesn't even reset when you start NG+. Almost as if they want the penalty of not Acing a stage to be basically permanent and lock you out of skills as much as possible.
Boy that sure sounds like every game with a ranking system!
Vat grown. Well maybe not necessarily grown, but she was modified from before she was born.
By who and why, though? Was Neo Arcadia just really into genetic modification? And if she was an experiment how the fuck did she end up in the resistance, you'd think they would keep a closer eye on her since she could literaly make their Supreme Leader at 8 fucking years old
I've been meaning to play at least one of these but I'm pretty sure Metroidvania's don't hold me.
It was pretty clear she wasn't far along.
Yes. Getting top ranks in any game is hard and takes multiple tries. Wow, you've uncovered the secret of the universe.
