>Before starting, a player has to decide how demanding the game should be.
>God of War’s four difficulty settings includes one that it is so intense that it has a separate save and can’t be changed after the game is started in that mode.
>It allows players to play the most challenging mode without having to sacrifice to play through the game’s other difficulties, which includes one that is meant to essentially covey the story.
>And that fourth, hardest setting isn’t simply an algorithmic increase in difficulty, God of War creative director Cory Barlog says. “We did a ton of stuff to make it a genuine challenge, not a cynical increase. Enemies are all changed up. We changed the attack patterns of things; it’s hugely different.”
This game keeps getting more anti-soy by the minute. This is going to be a lock-in for GOTY.
Caleb Wilson
sorry but I've already made up my mind that I don't like it
Lincoln Powell
Yup
Evan Moore
I haven't played it but it sucks
Eli Thompson
>Doesn't even include a link
Sony please. We're not buying your mutilated franchise. This game looks fucking horrendous and is an allegory for everything wrong with the modern video game industry. The business men are slaughtering everything with no survivors.
Joseph Morris
yeah damn soyboys it really takes a true man to be good at pressing buttons
Carter Sullivan
I have played at least one previous God of War game, and because of its quality, I'm disinterested in this newer title.
Somehow they managed to make this cringe. I just lol each time the kid runs as if he is trying to chase the deer. What anl wonderful cinematic gaming experience
Brandon Murphy
Those graphics are gorgeous
Dominic Roberts
looool
Aaron Ross
yeah cgi films have come a long way
Lucas Taylor
Helps transition from one area to the next without loading screens. That's why all the doors in Uncharted are so heavy, it's strictly utilitarian.
Christian Cook
Is the whole game an escort mission for his wife's son? Sort of like Liz in Bioshock Infinite?
Sebastian Johnson
Can't wait for the collector's edition
Brandon Ward
oh no, that's actually a game runing in real time on a ps4, its a common mistake cause only sony games can pull this amazing graphics
Matthew Nguyen
screencap this post for when GoW sells 10 million units
Alexander Collins
Game looks good. I might play some GoW 2 tonight before I go to bed since I'm kinda excited.
Ryder Clark
sounds too hard for me, i'll watch it on youtube for free instead.
Austin Morales
>journalist talking about how hard it is dark souls is hard to these fuckbois
Jaxson Martin
>sales = quality Out of all the things you could have said in response, that's what you say to him?
Cameron Gutierrez
enjoy your soylate
Asher Gutierrez
Me too
Henry Kelly
He could easly jump up there Kratos is just teaching the little shit to not be useless. Clearly he's strong as fuck in the rest of the game also I heard something about that being disguised as a loading screen.
Hunter Long
>disguised loading screen that's exactly what it is. it's a smart idea and doesn't bother me too much but you'd think someone would have come up with something new by now.
Luis Perez
Are we talking about ps2 era "hard" or 2018 "hard"?
Luke Jenkins
>enemy makes you flinch for 2 seconds instead of 1 >OMG SO HARD 10/10 DARK SOULS OF DEVIL MAY CRY
I can already smell the GOTY awards obviously not paid off by sony.
>instead of looking at a loading screen you're looking at shitty ai companion climb 5m and waiting for him to drop you chain so you can climb it too >all of this in a franchise where you literally climbed out of hell
Josiah Harris
It's a reimagining of the franchise. I think it's fine.
Julian Nelson
Is it damage control from "Press Start to skip boss fight"?
Xavier Perez
This marketng statement has been repeated for i dunno how long now. In the end the higher difficulty will just be more enemy HP.
Owen Perry
Climbing is still in. But it's too fast to disguise a loading screen.
You better hope Naughty Dog comes up with something new for Part 2 or we're stuck with this shit for a few more years.
Jonathan Ramirez

That sounds really promising. One of the worst and laziest things you can do to increase difficulty is to simply just up the parameters of enemies without changing anything about them or changing absolutely nothing about enemy placements or mob patterns (like Dark Souls).
I'll wait until some reliable folks on YouTube (like Bick Benedict) beat this difficulty. If great GOW players like them say the difficulty is good, then I'll get the game.
Jacob Sullivan
It's fucking with certain people's opinions and hope for modern vidya. This is a very bad thing depending on who you ask.
This is just regular Sup Forums shitposting though. There's nothing about this game that should suggest some kind of bleak future for the industry. Nothing worse than what we're already dealing with, at the very least. Unsure as to what your concern is.
Aiden Price
The only thing I've seen so far about the game that I don't like is the fucking UI in the upgrade/crafting screen. You can't possibly be more lazy and uninspired in your UI design than that. It looks like a mishmash of every single soulless open-world UI of the past decade, blending Assassin's Creed, Skyrim and Shadow of Mordor.
And on that note, I really don't like how the game is now an Action RPG instead of just an Action game. With the inclusion of stats, it also means that enemies will be balanced around the existence of stats and levels. It means that it's possible to overlevel and underlevel. If you overlevel, you can trivialize the game. If you underlevel, the game will feel frustrating and the enemies will feel spongey.
Otherwise, I really like everything I see about it thus far. Barlog directed God of War 2, the best game in the series. I trust what he's doing.
Adrian Allen
>no puzzle >not big fight >send up so 5 secondas later he drop a rope What is the fucking point? Just make it a ramp/steps. holy shit that's stupid.
Kratos spends so much time climbing all over impossible stuff in the previous games and now he can't fuckign get over a small wodden wall?
Even the new Lara Croft games let you climb up something that small.
Brayden Hall
>before he would rip off wings of some fucker and use that wing to fly across lands >now cant even climb up the rocks
Wyatt Nelson
Yes I agree. Too many developers are shoehorning in RPG elements without much care put into the system. Not every game needs to be a damn ARPG but people like numbers. The UI is pretty poor too. Gameplay looks good though, seems unique despite what the rest of the hivemind will tell you.
Jonathan Edwards
Yeah nah I ain’t buying this
David Rivera
>God of War will have a Very Hard difficulty
Woah fuck son slow down, I can't handle that much innovation all at once.
Christopher Miller
> Not every game needs to be a damn ARPG but people like numbers.
Also, the reason why RPG mechanics is so popular among casuals is that it allows for tangible signs of progression. Having your character go from (say) LV10 to LV11 gives you the feeling that you've made progress in the game, and may even allow you the feeling that you've gotten better or more skilled, even though it's just a pure number increase and doesn't represent personal player skill at all.
It's part of the reason why Injustice 2 was so successful among casuals. It's precisely because it incorporated RPG elements in its singleplayer campaign through the gear system.
Yeah this is bullshit >B-B-BUT THEY SAID THE DIFFICULTY WOULD BE AS HARD AS DAS! Never would happen. DaS is a niche series compared to God of War which is a huge seller for PS, it's to get soyboys hyped up for cred and because they dropped those game. Realistically you're going to have lower health and enemies are sponges
Chase Martinez
He's older. Lost most of his divine powers after killing the whole greek pantheon and losing his old weapons that made him stronger etc.
Benjamin Rivera
These previews have really proven how shit nu-Sup Forums is. I never expected such shitstorm for game that was mostly hated here, just for the fun of shitposters eho also dont even own the console.
You can do that when nothing's going on so you can siphon everything into individual leaves instead of things such as enemies or components to a puzzle.
Hudson Rodriguez
>bottom of the screen instead of the top GOTYAY WHAT A GAME CHANGER BRAVO
Here we have yet another MARKETING THREAD. Please report these threads and sage them. Everyone and their fucking dead grandmother knows this: game is shit and it doesn't matter how much you advertise the so called "difficulty" here. After the launch it's going to be forgotten after exactly two weeks.
Caleb White
you mean viral?
Landon Wood
reminder that a journo said this, he may mean hard tutorials for all we know
Mason Walker
All my friends hate TLOU but love God of War. If they fucking say to my face how much they love this new game I will fucking flip.
Christopher Rivera
One can almost taste your butthurt through the screen I can almost imagine what kind of retarded waifubait games you must shill on this board
