To draw 2 cards
To be banned forever.
stfu, WE ALREADY AGREED THAT THATS NOT WHAT IT FUCKING DOES
You have to draw some cards if I remember correctly but I don't know how many.
You realise Yuhioh has many games, right?
>as you dig into your POT OF GREED
It exists solely for Chris Chan to use as part of his Sonichu-verse.
Graceful Charity > Pot of Memes
it's so fucking dumb how it's banned almost everywhere
ooo, you can speed up your deck slightly faster, big fucking deal
To summon the forbidden one.
Is this bait user
In order to use it's effect you first have to draw it, so in reality you only get 1 free draw.
You say that like a free +1 is a bad thing
It's banned for a reason
That's still insanely overpowered.
If it wasn't banned literally every deck would run as many as allowed
thank god I switched to magic the gathering over this weeaboo jap shit, where nobody bitches about playing a card that gives you the slightest bit of draw power
by that logic everything should be on topic in /lit/ since there's a book for everything.
Because magic has a resource cost to balance pure draw cards
are you dumb or something
But it has the effect of effectively shrinking your deck increasing the probability of getting useful cards to pull off strats.
Otherwise, I don't know much about Yugioh, what is stopping someone from having 55 pots of greed and an exodia? Limits to 4 of a type of magic card?
To weed out jews
What if you encounter a deck that destroys your deck, then the pot of greed would be useless since you wanna keep as many cards as you can.
>not using graceful to draw into pot of greed
What is the One with Nothing of YGO?
you can only have three cards with the same name
what does this even mean, pot of greed will always be a free extra card for no cost
when you run a 40 card deck focused on drawing quick like an exodia deck it makes your deck a 39 card one
YGO's ban system has 3 different card categories: Normal(3 cards per deck max),Semi-Limited(2 cards) ,Limited(1 card),and Banned(Self Explanatory).
Reminder that if a card is viable in every single deck possible and is used in pretty much every deck seen a tourney, it needs to be limited or banned.
non-limited cards are 3 max for all cards. any +1 in this game is stupid powerful because of how much you can get going. graceful charity is another card like POG but better believe it or not
When's Ash Blossom getting banned
What? No. First of all, mill decks are not viable and never have been. Second, you'll still want to use Pot because then the cards go to your hand instead of the graveyard, giving you a chance to make a comeback.
Into the Void is closest I know of
Nothing personnel user.
>when is a card with 6 easily main deckable counters (in a couple days) getting banned
You just hate it since you're poor
Like I am
Firstly, Greed would STILL be good since you would have card advantage. And card advantage now is WAY fucking better than maybe outplaying a shit strategy later.
Secondly, you can't be fucking serious. Mill decks are terrible, and to counter that you could just include more than 40 cards in your deck to make up for the cards that Greed drew into.
I cast reborn the monster targeting my biggest monster you just put into my graveyard
>Turns a 40 card deck into a 39 card deck
>Never a dead draw
>No cost
>Can go into any deck except Infernities
No, it deserves to be banned
One good card does not a viable deck make
;_;
>I build my deck with 43 cards.
There. Now I have hand advantage, your shit mill strategy affects me just as much as it affects every other deck, and PoG just turned my 43 card deck into a 40 card deck and made everything more consistent.
It makes your deck smaller which is OP OP
>Running 43 cards and PoG
The entire point of PoG is to get to your good cards faster, putting more than 40 cards kills it and makes the deck clunky
this is why vidya is better than card games
if something's unbalanced, you don't have to ban it, just apply a global patch
IT ALLOWS ME TO CHECK THIS 2 AT THE END OF MY POST. YOUR MOVE KAIBA
nice try
Yugioh does that.
But what if I use this too, delightfully devilish user.
It was an example of how PoG is literally never a bad card, to the retard that was trying to say PoG was bad against mill.
And a 43 card deck with 3 PoG's is better than a 40 card deck without 3 PoG's.
Of course, a 40 Card deck with 3 PoG's is the best.
boardgames.stackexchange.com
>The simplest terms I can think to put it is:
>Your deck requires 40 cards. Imagine you could have a 12 card deck - your 4 best cards, 3 copies each. You'd probably win every game against those 40-card deck losers, since you're always drawing your best cards and deploying them.
>Every card you put in your deck makes you less likely to draw those game winning spells. So you replace them with some themed cards to bide your time until you DO draw into them. So it makes sense that a 15 card deck is weaker than a 12, and a 20 weaker than a 15. The important fact is that a 37 card deck is stronger than a 40.
>Now imagine Pot of Greed just said "draw 1 card" instead of 2. What it would essentially do is let you get take your 40 card deck down to a 37, because every time you drew Pot of Greed, you would immediately exchange it for the next card.
>So if it were draw 1 card, it would immediately be banned because it turns any deck from 40 into a 37 card deck. And if at draw 1 it's too powerful, then at draw 2 it must be even more powerful.
>Another very simple way to put it is this: when it comes to making games fun, the key is to make interesting decisions. Pot of Greed has no interesting decision: you play it, you always benefit. It's not like a burn spell where you choose a monster to burn, or a monster that you choose "should I put this out now? Or wait for him to use up his monster kills..." Pot of Greed doesn't make games more fun. It makes them less fun.
Holy fuck the autism is strong with this one.
KEIKAKU DOHRI
the effects of my cards are activated when they are send to the graveyard
>Holy fuck the autism is strong with this one.
Why? He's completely correct.
I mean fuck, Upstart Goblin, which gives you half the effect of Pot of Greed at the cost of helping your opponent, has and will pretty much always be stuck on limited for exactly the reasons he said.
>except Infernities
Wrong. You can always to set this card to empty you hand.
Meanwhile Heavy samurai can't use this card.
What's the point of Yugioh?
Gravity bind intensifies.
Waboku intensifies.
ATTENTION DUELISTS
Cardfus
>either of those in 2018
>this is what dirty tcg plebs actually believe
Every time they add a new monster type the game gets harder to get back into
Link Summoning is the worst about this
But if everyone has a Pot Of Greed, wouldn't it be accurate to say that nobody has one?
I stopped to play before XYZ, synchro shit was bad enough already and the archetypes were getting out of control.
>one card no costs/drawbacks
>draw two cards
I mean the had to come up with something and maybe it helps to speed up games in the series but after you played some TGC you should know how OP and univerial good this is.
Link Summoning is the only remotely complicated summoning method they've introduced, and even that only takes like 20-30 minutes to fully understand. Everything else is baby shit.
No, then it would be accurate to say everyone's working with a 37 card deck, and up to 3 times randomly throughout the game a player's Draw phase gets them an extra card.
Instead of making every deck essentially 37 cards, they removed it. I wouldn't even say it's overpowered, but I would say that it doesn't contribute to deck building or skillful playing in any meaningful way - at which point why have it?
No,beacause it would mean that anyone who didn't have $100~ to drop on three copies of the card would have an immediate and objective disadvantage against anyone who did.
So you can take it out and say, "and now I play the card Pot Of Greed which lets me add two cards to my hand!" over and over and over again.
>my favorite cards are United We Stand and Axe of Despair
Get a load of this fag
Did you bitch about contact fusions too?
>Summoning on the first turn
I call bullshit.
Realistically speaking a standard zombie deck can't stand a chance nowadays right? I imagine that everything now is overpowered archetypes and long ass effect combos that take 10 minutes each and flood the field with boss monsters.
JUDGE!
damn cheater
Why didn't they just make mill good
Pot of Greed is for brainlets. Intellectuals such as use De-Synchro on a Formula Synchron that was summoned using Tuningware while T.G. Hyper Librarian is on the field.
>mfw plebes will never experience the ecstasy and adrenaline rush of drawing 10+ cards in one turn
Zombie Lightsworn is a really fun combo heavy deck that drops in and out of the meta and it's pretty good right now. But if you mean a deck that just has zombie monsters and bad support cards then most likely not.
Mill is good in duel links and its infuriating to play against.
>With the right 3 card combo your opponent can take out half your deck
This shouldn't be allowed.
how does one get back into the game when they left around the time Synchros came out
I know how to XYZ summon, Synchro Summon, and how Link Summoning works.
>Duel Links
>Yugioh Fags think drawing 10 cards is impressive
Fuck even Grishoalbrand does this better in Modern and that's a meme deck.
Old and busted
>He plays Duel Links
I mean both are banned outside of the OCG anyway. Agreed though Graceful Charity would be better especially in the current state of the game with the graveyard basically being a second hand.
>saying the 4000 year old Egyptian magician
>Nugioh
How do you guys even consider that playing? its all over in 1 turn.
It's not about the results,it's about the payoff and making your opponent sit and watch as you slowly draw 10 cards, gloating and enjoying each and every single one and then losing anyway because you're still trying to play Fables in 2018
>2017+1
>not playing Yu-Gi-Oh! Solitaire format
That's not the proper way of summoning the forbidden one.
t. doesn't keep up with the format
Current format is more varied and interactive than HAT or mermail 3axis firefist format
To summon dark magician with boobies.
Here's your 2
You aren’t trying to smuggle in any Pot of Greeds are you, son?
