I'm talking about any game with anime artstyle.
Ni no Kuni literally had it's own fucking style developed from the ground up and yet no one actually uses it because Level-5 wanted to keep their own edited engine to keep their style unique.
Arksys should have done the same thing but instead they sold quite a few key graphic designers that were working for Xrd and now we already have 2 fucking games with the exact same look and feel as Xrd in the course of just a single year.
It only looks good and decent now because it's still new and stylish. In a few years there's going to be literal dozens of Bandai games using the exact same style and just like literally every other mainstreamed stylized engine, it's going to get old and boring to look at because of how often you see it.
Case in point, look at the Tales series and tell me that the art style doesn't feel old and uninspired. It's because the graphic engine and settings they used are in every other anime game on the market.
I know I'm probably being a bitter cunt about this but I am legitimately disappointed that this is going to happen.
