I like my Switch but I have to say that there's been a bit of a drought of games.

Literally no new games other than indie shovelware (also available on every other console).

Nintendo were pushing ports of relatively recent and fairly niche games as their system seller in February, what do they expect?

Well of course, it was only sold to three groups realistically. The Nintendo faithful and idorts who buy anything, and the ones who bought the switch's marketing scheme. There are still stores here in my state who have launch stock they've yet to get rid of. Despite Nintendo's marketers, the Switch despite its initial boom isn't as huge a success as they'd have you believe. It's maintaining that momentum of the first year they have to do now, which it's already not doing. Nintendo is hitting yet another drought caused by their shitty hardware. The one thing you need for your platform IS those games that make sales for it. They make your platform relevant.

There are just some titles Nintendo will never see, no matter how dumbed down the games graphics are, because the switch simply cannot handle the assets, and its not worth the monetary investment for these companies to remake the assets for the Switch. Already simplistic games like Doom 2016 will make it, because visually they're unimpressive and simplistic enough to be dumbed down for switches hardware by removing lighting, particle effects, toning down textures, and removing objects/enemies. Whats funny is even then, the game being COMPLETELY optimized for the hardware now, it barely maintains 30fps which is sad.

It's going to come down to, Nintendo pulling their heads out of their asses, dropping their JAPANEZU PURAIDO,and competing with hardware again. You HAVE.TO.HAVE 3rd parties in the modern era, games have become too complicated. Nintendo thinks they're playing special snowflake with their gimmick niche, they're just diggin a grave of irrelevancy.
