As long as they have some sort of CYOA mechanic with endings and shit, then as far as I'm concerned, yes. If they're literally just linear and have no reaction to your input whatsoever other than you choosing text speed and when to advance, then I'd say no.

Her route was so strangely paced. They could have done a lot of interesting things with the different personalities but I feel like they completely squandered it. I still have to play the sequels though. Hopefully they make up for it.

No they didn't. Her resolved mental trauma along with Yuji's stabilizing presence caused her Dissociative Identity Disorder to simply become less prevalent. The only time she shows up is when she lacks the courage to do something, etc. Nothing really poorly done about it.
It's a scene for the goddam ages, seriously.
Eh, it was less about having another personality as it was having the trauma that caused her to gain one. The after story of Labyrinth uses the personality a lot, so they do give you a payoff with it in a big BIG way. It's gone for the most part in Eden except a few times, but that's mostly because she's suppose to be cured of her trauma by then.
