I feel BnHA doesn't even translate that well to a fighter. Characters like Bakugou, Todoroki, and Tokoyami do with versatile combat oriented powers, but a lot of characters are just way more limited.

And this is just from screenshots. I feel that they'll do a good enough to have a varied cast for the first game and build off of it as the anime progresses.
But otherwise I fully agree and I wish it was something else.

Koichi can go fast as fuck and go up vertical surfaces. If it weren't for that, Kazuho would be dead. The point I'm trying to make is that despite how simple they sound, the heroes make do with what they got. Hell, there was a whole portion where Mirio describes something just like that. I feel like on surface level, Koichi seems silly, but there are a bunch of other characters that are just as silly and are doing fine.
