No, not broken. People overuse that term badly. It was originally meant to refer to things like ST Akuma, which genuinely "break" the game in the sense that he reduces the entire game to Akuma vs. Akuma if he's included.
Abigail's damage output is bullshit for a character who is not only not a glass cannon, but has the highest HP in the game. No doubt about that. But he is not "broken." The game is perfectly functional with him included. It's just needlessly frustrating.

Look up vesperarcade and ultrachentv for good beginner's guides. For written guides, look for Gief's Gym. Other than that, take some time to get the bare basics down. Get used to movement, get used to special input motions, just try everything. You can learn this game with just about any character, but I'd maybe avoid the ones that have complicated game plans and/or heavy execution requirements like Menat, Zeku, or Dhalsim.

Naw no way, big/huge characters in fighting games are never OP unless if they're a boss character or something. They're too easy to lock down, too slow, too vulnerable to projectiles, etc.

Rashid is really strong. You can pretty much stay in free with spinning mixer and look up some tutorials
Zangief has been nerfed, but he's still a scrub killer. Basic walk forward and grab/headbutt still works.
Once you get to Silver or Gold you can look up some serious tutorials and start looking at frame data or whatever.

Literally just take the guard break. That's the secret to fighting Abigail. Unless you have a really quick reliable multi-hit move to bust through the armor of his charge punch, just block and take the guard break. He gets so much less damage off of it. People go wrong by trying to jump or worse attack and they get counterhit for a fuckton.
