Don't diss sailing simulators, it somehow worked for Nintendo 15 years ago with Wind Waker.

Better than playing Dad of War will feel, for sure.

I'm having fun with it. Genuinely the most fun multiplayer game I've played in the last few years

This

t. soyboy

Doing what? Please do tell me.

I had tons of fun with it. Got really drunk and shot the shit with people I've never met while I got shot to shit by people I wish I could meet so I could much them in the teeth.

I know it's gonna get boring but everything does and I got it for free so why not enjoy it while it lasts ( for two weeks)?

OP states very clearly his message is intended to be read by the people who were dumb enough to pre-order it. Of course you're more than entitled to have your two weeks of free artificial fun.

Careful user, you're not allowed to enjoy games on Sup Forums.

>artificial fun
Kill yourself. For everyone's sake, including your own.

Pirating other players
Stay upset this isnt your ebic new tortanic

It literally is, though? Even Reddit is bashing this "game" into oblivion.

Is this actually a bigger scam than No mans sky?

i have fun with it
>no u don't !
ok

>Play without friends
>Got into a boat with three random strangers
>Ended up befriending and having fun with them

Ironically fun if you hit the jackpot.

>Game has everything it said it would have with open development and multiple betas
>"Is this No mans sky?"
You're an idiot.

All true, but he forgot the most important thing:

>FOUR OUTFITS

in a game that has 100% cosmetic progression.

The basic skellington of gameplay is fun, but it needs more shit to do.
Puzzles and traps on the islands maybe.
Right now there's absolutely no point in exploring an island that isn't part of a quest, other than for the tiny chance that there could be a chest somewhere on it.
That's it.

I did make the most ultrachad pirate though despite how annoying the pirate generator is, so there's that.

I agree, I can't stop playing. I like the sailing in the game

I played through the betas solo and with friends. The sailing is fun with 3 others for sure but by the end of beta weekends I had already had my fill with the repetitiveness. I just don't understand playing with no end goal or upgrades to attain. You're literally just pirating for pallet swaps and even when we lost PvP fights and our loot was stolen I was never THAT upset being that it was just a cosmetic I was saving up for. I'm not saying anyone is wrong for enjoying this game I just genuinely do not understand how people can play this for more than a few days, even with a full crew, and not get bored of it's repetitive gameplay.

It was marketed as a Sailing Simulator the entire time

If anyone thought they were buying something else please tell me why?

They sound like they're shillbots.

Newfags want every game to be the new "tortanic" or "nu-male's sky", to fit I guess.

Thank god we can finally admit this is just a Sony (nigger) term for anyone who isn't a Sony fan (nigger).

Oh don't get me wrong Microsoft wanted this to be big and to get the hype, but it was still just a sailing sim at the end of the day so it might very well be, but there was nothing deceptive aside from the marketing bots all over the net

This might actually be a decent game if they cut the price down to 25-30 bucks max and put it on Steam. I'd pay that much just for the sailing/ocean simulation while playing shanties. 60 bucks with a Microsoft store requirement is a fucking joke though, and hopefully it fails miserably as a result.

I wouldn't be bashing the game If it cost like 90% of it's current price
But 70 bucks for what feels like a beta of a game with great potential is pushing it.
The base features are really polished (ie Sailing, Weather System and Water algorithm) but everything around it feels so fucking barebone that I almost want to make a food analogy.
There's nothing to do, there's no objective, you just fuck around with friend and even that wont last more than a month at best.
And If it had cost like 20bucks that would've been fine, but right now this game is a joke.

Seriously I feel like this game is an elaborate ploy to get people to buy the Xbox game pass thingy (which I guess almost 80% of current players did)

i like pirates.

That's the whole point. There's not enough game to justify its price tag, we've essentially been scammed into buying an Early Access product.

meh, I paid like 3 bucks for this thanks to instant gaming

I'm glad I didn't waste my money on this garbage, I'll wait for Crackdown 3.

I'm frustratedly addicted to it because it has legitimate fucking problems but is still a ton of fun to play.

Same. We had great fun with me crew but at the same time i'm angry at those fuckers at Rare.

They just released an update video about the problems, so at least they're acknowledging and communicating about it.

its a flawed but fun game

I love the way to control a ship.

>not a minority

BLACKWAKE FANS SEETHING

did you mean 56 euros?

not rly, still comfy on w7

An open world multiplayer pirate game with ships that require multiple players to man has been my dream game for a long time (same goes for one like it set in space like the old Star Trek MMO that never got released was supposed to be before Star Trek Online was made). This game does a really great job of realizing that dream in regards to just the sailing mechanic. It's very cool and feels like proper teamwork to navigate and fight other ships. However that dream is shattered by the lack of content, and what content there is is mostly terribly simplistic, boring, and childish. The combat is ass. There's nothing to do but grind getting gold to buy cosmetic items that don't change the game at all. I Don't understand how they could get the core mechanics so right, and then just sort of let the rest of the game become a pile of insignificant, underdeveloped diarrhea. Possibly the biggest disappointment in gaming since No Man's Sky and Spore to he honest, and even those games are better because they each have tons more content and variety.

This game is gonna turn into a nigger sim soon
devs announced a death toll for the game. tl;dr version that you'll lose gold if you die seaofthieves.com/release-notes

lol true

Fuck that, this game is already grindy as hell with everything being expensive as shit without losing money upon death.

and think of this, /sotg/ already has fuckbois who takes pleasure off ganking people on this game. This is a gankniggers wet dream

I got ac4 instead I am not going to diss Microsoft for trying something different but I don’t need another online only game after the division I am fucking done with that shit.
