I didn't remember HP3 being so damn linear, it's like 4 missions where you are forced right into the next one with no time to explore between them, not that you need to explore since over half the cards need to be bought anyway and the game throws beans at you.
If you are using windows 10 you need to look up a guide to run it, it isnt that hard though
Nah I'm using an old version, fuck upgrading
I remember the HP3 GBA game being what was all intents and purposes a literal turn based RPG/JRPG. Shit was good
I also remember it being hard as dick, I don't think I beat it.
Yeah Prisoner was kinda disapoitning, especially coming from Chamber wich heavily improved on Stone.
"Deh!"
You can do Quirrell's Flipendo challenge as much as you like, Harry, but you're still stuck in a video game based on the dullest franchise in the history of movie franchises. Each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.
Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody, just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.
>a-at least the books were good though
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."
I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.
LMAO
Based "No!" poster.
>great gatsby in god tier
Not even Scott's best work, let alone god tier literature in general. Fuck right off.
Try reading Steinbeck.
>Ayn rand
>anything but low to shit tier
Nigga please, Even if you agree with her world view, all of her characters are perfect and untouchable in morals, standing tall over the oppositions weak arguments. It's real easy to win a fight if you're both sides.
Meanwile in Dostoevskys work, ALL sides have strikingly good motivation and reasoning, and his protagonist isn't just given a fucking care-free "don't worry, you're right" ride. Rand is fucking overrated trash, and doesn't even deserve to be on the same LIST as Dostoevsky

I couldn't get over this as a kid.
Chamber of Secrets (PC ver.) was cool. I loved jumping from the top floors and exploring the school. I also remember the ectoplasm giving me plenty of anxiety for some reason lol

retards
>your gf is now Filipino
For all the faults of the Harry Potter franchise it still manages to be less hackneyed and contrived than this crossboarder's attempt at poisoning Sup Forums with this, the stalest pasta in the history of Sup Forums pastas. Seriously each shitty attempt following the start of a Harry Potter thread by inbred redditors as they only change a few assorted words has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the unfunny wording, the pasta's only consitency has been its lack of originality and ineffective use of comedic timing, all to make meme magic unmagical, to make OC feel unneeded.
Perhaps the die was cast when reddi/tv/ collectively vetoed the idea of bothering to change more than a few words in the intro; they made sure the pasta would never been mistaken for true original content that meant anything to anybody, just ridiculous cross-promotion for their entry-level shit. The stalest pasta might be anti-Christian (or not), but it's certainly the anti-IMAGINE in its refusal of quality shitpost, subtleness and excitment. No one wants to face that fact. Sadly they still have to.
>a-at least it's still funny though

The writing is dreadful, the pasta is terrible. As I read, I noticed every time someone posted a shitty intro, a fucking newfag instead replied "based".
I began marking on the back of an enveloppe every time this post was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Sup Forums's mind is so governed by cliches and dead memes that they have no other style of posting. Later I read a lavish, loving comment about the pasta on fucking reddit of all places. It was something to the effect of, "DUDE DANK MEMES LMAO HOW DO I INTO Sup Forums??". And it was quite fucking sad. He was not being ironic. When you post a shitty version of this pasta, you are, in fact, spreading the reddit cancer.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINCENDIO
What's actually the real reason Rowling vetoed Spielberg for the movies?
>tfw third game didn't even have fliiiiipendo
I heard it was because he insisted on casting the kid who played young anakin as harry
How about Windows 8.1?
I've only played the PS1 version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
>shit the movies are over, but we need more money from the HP franchise
>should we make a Hogwarts MMO?
>or a cartoon series?
>NAH, lets just hire some kids from deviantart to write a sequel
what were they thinking
Same
Is the PC version very different?
IIRC Rowling only wanted UK actor to act in the movies and Spielberg didn't want that limitation
what a fucking pleb
There's like 5 completely different versions of the game
so there is no ''good'' version I suppose
I think running it in XP compatibility is enough on 8.1
I haven't played all of them, I know that I don't like the PC version due to how the camera works, I can accept it on the PS1 version though since it's a more limited console than what PCs were capable of at the time
I'd recommend skipping the first game and starting at the second one which has massive improvements to the formula, though it doesn't last long since the fourth game is where EA got tired of making unique versions for consoles and PC and started making a single version which is where the problems with the games begin to increase
...
Anyone play the Lego games? How are they?
Among the best you can get for the franchise, though they are more puzzle based than other Lego games
