Women don't like video games because games themselves don't give them attention or make them feel tingly. They also have a competitive nature which makes it hard to feel special for just doing something everyone else does better. Which is why a "gamer" girl's biggest concern is the amount of viewers and followers she can gain by "playing" something.

This. There are girls who actually like vidya, but a lot of them don't. If you're around them, as a person, long enough, you can usually figure out if they're genuine or not. It's not that there aren't women who like games. It's that liking "geeky" things like video games has become a fashion statement. Just like there are guys that walk around in football jerseys besides never getting near the sport besides watching it, there are girls who advertise themselves as gamers because they want to be part of that crowd.
