Got to get eggs

OT but why did we never get a fully realised open world Simpson game with the same graphical style as the series?

People wank over alternate styles in games, and the Simpsons style would give people a literal heart attack.

No such thing yet, they all have glaring issues.

Xenoblade Chronicles X
Zelda: Breath of the Wild

>nostalgic because mom let me play the GTA clone that was T rated
>"god tier"

What's the best way to play Hit & Run?

It's just an image. Not my God tier game.

xboxhueg

pc version

project harder

Simpsons style just doesn't translate well to 3d.

BotW. Anyone who disagrees is a console warrior sad they can't play it

Don't know. Most open world games are pretty shit by design.

does monster hunter: world count? genuinely GOTY imo

Witcher 3

Homer we're in Undertale

>console warrior
>best version is on pc
hmm

Even worse then. Makes it look like Sony Bronies can't even afford a decent PC

would homer be attracted to a 3d woman like we are attracted to 2d women?

are 4d women attracted to 3d?

Attached: 1519597450985.png (680x788, 145K)

I AM YOUR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!

what if 3d women are like a constant timefreeze porno/smorgasboard to 4d men?

>user mentions PC version
>Still find a way to bring up Sony
You got to be a falseflagger, no one can be this obsessed

Attached: 1502960568121.jpg (691x625, 236K)

I'm attracted to 2D women. Does that count?

even worse is that you think that botw is a good game.

Crackdown

So(n)ymen absolutely seething

>can't deny it
>better post my wojak

I can't imagine ever being so dedicated to any company, let alone a gaming company.

When your mom can only get you a PS4 might as well defend it to the death

>own the literal childrens console
>try to talk down to others by calling them children
really bings my wahoo

bad opinion

Not open world no.

but it's a world that you can openly explore and go on expeditions in

not one big continuous map but it's about as open as a segmented world of its kind gets

Unironically top 10 games of at least the last decade.
debate me

Attached: Subnautica.jpg (616x353, 73K)

el pollo diablo...

I don't know what you mean by that

> implying any console isn't for "literal" children

looks like "the chicken devil..." to me
I think

OH are you making a le 56% face joke, because of the cuck devs?

wrong opinion but it's probably the best early access craft survival game i've ever played unless factorio counts but thats more of an autism game where subnautica is a muh atmosphere game done right.

>talking about pc
>brings up bing wahoo
Very obsessed

i get what your saying but one company makes rated e cartoon games and the others make rated m "mature games for mature gamers" movie games. there's a difference.

TLoZ
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

It's segmented and has a hub town. Open world generally implies an interconnected world where towns and NPCs are laid out across it. Diablo 3 isn't open world either. Neither is Destiny.

I've never played Zenoblade but BOTW was more "interesting" then "God tier". I know I'm not the only one who feels this way; The map feels like it was blown over original proportion once they realized how little content there was to the main storyline. They illusion of a living world expires pretty quickly once you start seeing the same gags and boring AI routines all over the place and MOST of the shrines are so simple in concept that they end up feeling like stop lights to the gameplay. It's easy to tell that they were all designed by different people because some are very clever but most feel like tutorials for the capabilities you have with your powers.

I know I'm ranting at this point, but the last thing I had an issue with was the story. It is bad. More, it is mediocre, but everything good about it feels like it was added in to try and sell the "Zelda" brand otherwise the game would have some generic writing.

I can't remember anything anyone said in this game but I do remember how they talked.

Link
>...
Zelda
>Link! Link! you.... you really are the hero of time! I was so alone for so long *sobs* Thank you!
Birdman
>HEH, don't even bet on taking me on kid. I'm one of the best around! I'm a bird man!
Gorgon
Big brown lady
>You really wanna get in that don't you? All the time just chasing that tail never getting none.
Gorgon
>I'M HARD AND READY TO ROLL
Ganon
>Yeah okay, let's not give one of the best characters in the series any lines because he has to be this menacing malevolent force of pUuUuUUure evil and is impossible to sympathize with because he has no characteristics what so ever

>shrines are so simple in concept that they end up feeling like stop lights to the gameplay
shrines were literally the only gameplay in the fucking game. it's the overworld that's the stoplight of one giant climb and glide experience.

butt plug IN, chastity cage LOCKED

The Grand Theft Auto series has pretty good open worlds. I particularly like San Andreas and Vice City.

Breath of the Wild.

Saints row 2

This, except whenever I say it all I get is "lol sonyfags literally seething bet you didn't even play the game."

Games with excellent movement mechanics in which to make base world exploration feel satisfying, so games like Gravity Rush or Mirror's Edge Catalyst. Conversely, games that don't waste your time with needless space and focus on compact level design and points of interest, so games like Banjo-Kazooie or Super Mario Odyssey.

I agree with you funny enough, but I still hate most shrines. What's sad is really do like the game, but I just realized at once how many issues I had with it too. It shines mechanically and for the first 20-30 hours it feels fresh, but it's not going to leave an impression on me at all in a few years. I'll briefly remember it in the sea of open world games that follow this formatting and how it stood in in some ways, but it's nothing special. I want the open world, but their needs to be a reason for it to exist aside from it being a hurdle to your next destination.

Shit taste.

Simpsons: Hit and Run is barely open world. The mission structure is extremely linear.

Someone who gets it. The great thing about small levels is developers need to get creative with how the space is used and how to expand into other portions of the game so everything is thought out in depth instead of saying
"Pic related is pretty! Let's remake it in our game!". Thing is, I've already seen it in games over and over and over and over and over and over and unless you put some cool shit over there that catches my eye then I'll have no interest in it at all. Why do developer insist so much on BORING filler? I know it takes effort, but put in the fucking effort instead of showing me a facade of what a game is.

This is pic related. Not a specific example of anything. Just the mindset devs seem to have now

start game
kick wife

>20-30 hours it feels fres
i think i lasted 40 before i realized what an empty shitfest the game was. by then i had fully explored the map and fought every enemy type ad naseum. each of the remaining 100 hours i played to complete the game just further made me hate the game. it's not good when the first 3 hours of the game is the best part.

This

Why do people think that witcher 3 is such a good game. Is it because of the every side quest comes choke full of cut scene thing so you don't have to play with such sterile gameplay? why not just watch youtube videos of it it seems so much easier.

>the others make rated m "mature games for mature gamers" movie games
Is this what it was like to be a Sega fag back in the day?

Rockstar games obviously. Masterpieces every time. Their games are only ever bad in comparison to each other.

i can at least say that rockstar games accomplish what they set out to do which is more than i can say for most other open world games. just the formula is pretty fucking tired and they peaked with san andreas.

I disagree. You type like you're 12 so I'm not going to listen to you.

What are some open-world games with fun movement tech besides BotW?

Hebereke

some of them give me motion sickness
this one too

it's okay user. you're probably 16 and never even played gta 3 yet alone the top down games. i can see why when you started with gta 4 it's not a tired formula yet.

>more fun than climbing and gliding or meme surfing for 15 seconds before your
not exactly setting the bar very high here

Nice one, Gordon.

>no one mentions Sony
>b-b-but Sony
Why are Nintendorks so obssesed with them?

All GTA games made after 2002, except for the Stories ones
RDR
AC: Origins
Just Cause 2
Saints Row
Skyrim

I can't think of any more.

this

People loving Johnny Gat is one of those things I will never understand.
He felt like the blandest badass character ever to me.

Why are you so angry

not angry friend. please explain to me what you mean when you talk about the fun movement tech of botw.

Sup Forums is a national socialist website, and the soyboy devs fired someone for being a national socialist

also the mc is a nigger

Morrowind
GTA San Andreas
Batman Arkham City
Saints Row 2
Mercenaries
World of Warcraft

Sleeping Dogs.

The world is massive and the general character interactions are great. Its biggest achievement is probably its town and city areas which are pretty well realised.

And you can just explore if you want, you'll find all sorts of items and questlines. Wondering through the Blood and Wine expansion is truly magical.
