character gets some sort of modification done to their body

the best
>plot point happens
>the world map + music changes
>get far enough in game
>title screen changes, letters in the subtitle ominously melt away and a message appears telling you that a party member is lying to you
ucking airy
Idea was great, but both good and evil UIs were total eyesores compared to default.
>new characters show up on the file select screen as you meet them

Humanity didn't deserve the Zero series
one of the literally who games I play does this kind of thing, the title screen changes with every boss killed.
>plot point happens
>world map music changes
kind of vaguely relevant
This is one of the best things about Xenoblade 2
>plot point happens
>the entire soundtrack changes
>opening vaguely spoils the very ending but doesn’t seem like it because of how well it fits with the themes of the game
I haven't played the demo yet, but is there buddhism stuff in there?
Everyone's all up in arms with the title, but Octopath is fine.
>receive final ending
>main menu changes
>final boss music is a more upbeat remix of the main menu theme
Name 2.5 games that do this.
>final boss theme is a remix of a song from a different game that’s unrelated
name 1 game
please
>boss is designed so that the most climactic thing happens as the music reaches the crescendo
NeiR: Automata
Spec Ops: The Line
>plot point happens
>game's name changes
Bravely Default
This is what Nier Automata should’ve done. It would’ve been cool if it was marketed as “Automata” and been revealed to be a NieR sequel after a certain point.
I love how Snake Eater didn't show you the intro when starting the game until you reached Operation Snake Eater.
>Defeat Final Boss in true ending
>Title Screen changes to show him
>plot point happens
>ending theme begins
That would have been extremely stupid.
Undertale
How so? It would’ve been cool
undertale!!! :D
People who cared about Nier might not have given Automata a chance.
The link between both games is mostly irrelevant.
Most people would be like "the fuck is a nier" when the twist happens.
It adds nothing besides a cool moment for a greentext thread.
Your idea sucks, sorry man.
Let it die

KOTOR 2 shows Kreia in her Darth Traya appearance after you finish the game
>Plot point happens
>Main hub changes completely due to a character situation and location
>Even the music
>Goes back to normal with another plot point
>After beating the game you get to switch between them
God I love KIU
>Asura's Wrath having multiple press start screens
>Madotsuki's room in Yume Nikki Dream Diary becomes more and more messy as you play the game
KIU?
To add on to his points, they definitely could've lost a ton of sales, therefore MONEY (the only thing the publisher gives a shit about), all for the "twist" the first user already provided examples of being silly.
>Have to play the first mission again to revert the game's opening theme
*staticky overdriven Star Spangled Banner plays*
Look at this slut eating her slut food for sluts
Half-Life and it's sequels.
>that's 4, 5 if you include BM
Kid Icarus Uprising
I miss this game so damn much. The atmosphere was amazing.
Me too, man. I hated that 2 did away with everything 1 did in order to make Bad Company elite soldiers in generic US vs Russia war instead of having them remain as a bunch of thieving fuck ups running away from the war.
Oh yeah that game rocks
Par for the course of Drakengard games.
>*phosphorus screams in the distance*
N-no, it's not "par for the course" because it hasn't been done in any of them.
>new character joins party
>new instrument added to main theme
Oh user...
>character is clearly the author’s self insert
>Character is clearly the author's waifu because he has a crush on the voice actress
>creator becomes overly attached to the character and puts them in every project
>character is the worst character in the entire series and is completely unlikeable
Wild Arms 3
>new character joins party
>entire overworld theme changes
I'm pretty upset how the fanservice intros died during part 4, the intros up until Crazy Noisy Bizzare Town tried hard to throw little clues about plot points in and they just kind of gave up. It's like Bleach and Naruto all over again, the more popular it became the more generic the intros became.

I'm still distraught over NieR:Automata
Ah man, I forgot about how catchy this was. Forgot there was a time where Battlefield had great intro music before WUBField 3 ruined that.
Trails of cold steel.
>plot point happens
>nothing happens
But Narutos OPs peaked at 16 and Bleach manages to be one of the few long running anime with consistently good OPs.
Fire emblem: path of radiance
As much as it pains me to say this, Lightning is not the worst character in the entire series.
Isn't Silhouette that last good one? And it was only like the 4th last OP or something
Yeah, Silhouette is 16 though I'd argue that Kaze - OP 17 is passable and the last good one. After that its downhill.
Yea but isn't that just like, 2 OPs after? That doesn't seem like all that strong a statement.
