Name one reason it isn't the best game ever made.
Persona 5

Not long enough
The one thing I really hate about the game is it takes away control too often and for too long.
So many story events eat up an entire week or more at once before deciding you can do what you want again.
Other than that, this is a straight improvement from 3 and 4.
It doesn't have da man.
Also this. They gotta give you your entire party by the midway point so you have time to grow attached to each of them.
By the time you have Haru the game is almost over.
it's a turn based RPG
completing a dungeon early makes characters go "do you think this is gonna work?!" for 30 days
crappy final boss
worse cast than Persona 4
It's not on PC.
>it's a turn based RPG
Not an issue, this is the best kind of game.
>Not an issue, this is the best kind of game.
It's not but I still like Persona
It won't be until Crimson/Rose/Rouge version is released
Pic related
>Makoto
>Akechi
I gave you two.
How about you have a little accident in the near future?
Akechi is no Adachi but he's not that bad
Makoto is genuinely the best party member though
>Nuclear, so you don't have to
>Phys all
>Equal phys/str, respectable damage both ways
>comes with Diarama right away
>Energy Rain for Futaba's palace
>enemy stat buff purge
It's not on the Switch. Yet.
Makoto is a jack, she's not the best at anything.
How about you kill yourself?
P3 is better
And yet it's always Joker or Makoto ending battle ASAP
Akechi really is discount Adachi though
>with that randomly generated dungeon
lol
the pacing is fucking terrible
the cat gives me cancer
shitty translation in a story/text heavy game (ME NEAR OK)
I cannot put into words how beautiful she is. Fuck, I love her.
Mementos is literally reverse Tartarus and why the story is so short
>always Makoto ASAP
But that's retarded.
>Enemy isn't weak to Nuke
>She crits with Phys instead
Pretty retarded, yes
>Makoto ending battle ASAP
Aside from Joker only Ryuji and Anne can wipe out enemies ASAP. Haru have crits for days so she's good too but not as good as them
>thinking nuke matters
>critting with Flash Bomb
o i am laffin
Mementos is filler grinding. It's MAYBE 10% of all dungeon time, and even that feels like a stretch.
>Keeping flash bomb
Added effect doesn't proc nearly enough to warrant the extra cost lad
Then what would you crit with? Vajra? Her regular attack? You'd be better off bringing Morgana.
>How about you have a little accident in the near future?
No thanks, last one I had caused his mom to kill herself.
it's Persona
>Name one reason it isn't the best game ever made.
it's weeb shit, there easy ^_^
>You'd be better off bringing Morgana
But I do
And you know she starts with two medium phys all skills?
I don't even know why you're debating me on her usefulness, when all I did was report that she's been extremely useful to me.
Morgana and Ann are practically healbots when I don't feel like bringing out Yusuke to get hit with fire because damn near everything seems to carry fire.
It's not even the best Persona game. It's still really fucking good, but not the best.
Crappy story that uses elements of P4 without making them work holistically.
Best Turn Based JRPG Gameplay for me though
>Implying Tartarus isn't peak comfy
I honestly don't think Tartarus was that bad, I liked the feeling of progress
>explore lower floors for gold shadows or rare items
>that constant never ending squealing
Comfy is not the word I'd use.
the space station
Mediocre story and shit combat. Next question.
The school life aspect sucked compared to 3 and 4. Most of the villains were weak story wise and the card/mini games was way more enjoyable than negotiating for demons as the conversation were meh.
Of course school life sucked. You're seen as a criminal by your peers. They probably wouldn't let you join their clubs even if you begged them.
The criminal thing only mattered for like a few months, then it was barely ever mentioned
>Name one reason it isn't the best game ever made.
The same issue all these rpgs have.
>Unlock characters as story progress
>Game ends
>NG+ doesn't allow you to just have access to them from the start and focus on gameplay and fuck all story.
They need to be made selfaware of this shit.
BASED DETECTIVE
Technically Joker really is a criminal.
That rumour about him carrying a knife is true, as you're always ready to go to the Metaverse at any time.
Why don't you play a REAL Shin Megami Tensei game, OP?
Story isn't all that if you think about it and the last bits in mementos was a slog
I assume you've literally just finished it and haven't had enough time to really analyse it without bias AKA OP is fuckin retarded
Great characters, weak story, it's essentially "kidz rule adults drool" and thats about it
Shit story fucking terrible pacing, boring gameplay, dull characters. Only good palace is Kamoshida's and the game falls apart after getting Futaba. Shitty asspull ending.
>Only good palace is Kamoshida's
But then why was Madarame's palace the best
It wasn't. The music, and overall aesthetic was boring as hell.
It was honestly the only palace where I felt like I was going to steal something.
The motivation behind it was pretty weak coming right from Kamoshida but I liked the palace and felt like they were blowing their load early.
i don't like it.
Because I don't like weebshit
>The music
>boring as hell
Shit taste.
It's not even the best Persona game
I got bored halfway through
Bad writing
Terrible pacing
Awful dialog
Party has no chemistry whatsoever.
90% of the combat is just some shitty ass stealth minigame where you press X for awesome and kill everyone in a all-out attack
Music isn't as good as previous installments.
Characters lack depth and their still relegated to SLinks stuff, which hurts them a lot.
It's a solid 6.5/10 game, but extremely overrated.
Because Bloodborne exists
>unlock door or press button
>10 minute conversion ensues
I was thinking about this the other day, as I go through my second playthrough I really think it's becoming my favorite game of all time
That cast is so boring though.
I respectfully disagree, though some characters are definitely more boring than others
This.
I blame Makoto disrupting their chemistry though.
Peaked too early and went downhill fast.
>worse cast than Persona 4
No JRPG will ever accomplish this feat.
That pic reminds me of a question: Why was Goro the "Justice" confidant?
Does the Justice card have some other meaning besides the obvious that applies to him?
Or are we supposed to believe that his deception extended to the cosmic level?
+Engaging, interesting story
+Better party members than in 3 or 4
+Wonderful city life
+Superb visual design
+Ingenious soundtrack
-Senseless, boring dungeon design
-Less time to do shit than ever before
-Forced grindfest
-Still next to no consequences to your choices
-The combat gets real old towards the end
A solid 8/10
Indeed. I don't know how Persona 5 managed to be almost as bad though.
I dunno, maybe they just ran out of confidants or it was a blatant red herring
>Engaging, interesting story
Don't even need to read the rest to know you're full of shit.
It's so goddamn boring.
I want to like this game but I'm not even out of the tutorial. I have bought and pirated other games I've completed before even getting back on this game. I'm like 6 hours in Jesus Christ
I'll say this much, P5 is one of the only games that kept me engaged for the entire length of my playthrough. If you can keep my interest high for the ENTIRE game, then you've done a real solid job
mokota and cat. can't shoot groo in the face. Best boy doesn't make an onscreen appearance
>Engaging, interesting story
>Better party members than in 3 or 4
Stopped reading.
That is what annoys me about young people: total lack of experience. The last game you played was the best ever.
I liked P5 by the way.
Some people are just impossible to please and have unrealistic standards for the type of media they consume
>Forced grindfest
You must be really bad if you needed to grind in P5
Slow start but the "tutorial" bit is really the worst up until halfway through the first palace. If you can get past that it picks up real quick and you get into the swing of things
>this entire post
>not long enough
nigga its like 20 hours too long at least
that knife is probably fake just like his guns
I enjoyed the story in every EO games I played, Persona 5 is just mediocre garbage.
this. Madarame's the only one that actually feels like a heist, complete with convoluted multilayered plan to steal the treasure that requires all members to do their job exactly right at the exact time. Everything after that was a disappointment
You're full of shit, that's what
This is canon. I'm pretty sure Iwai says something about how the knives he sells you are worse than butter-knives (probably when he tells you he knows you're a Phantom Thief)
yeah i love that conveniently placed hook
what a great game
All the firearms are convincing looking models, and remain convincing because you can't really see it at a distance. Why they have limited ammo I don't know. Balancing I guess.
I think a demon would know your knife is fake when it doesn't actually penetrate them, though.
>It was supposed to be shit
Thanks for the shilling, you can go back to Atlus headquarters now.
Because this exists.
It's the grand display in a narcissist's own shiny golden museum. He clearly hopes to one day have a grand masterpiece, and something so wonderful would clearly be blown up to ridiculous proportions in his mind. It'd need a crane to move it.
Combat is pretty weak overall. Hell, IV:A was a shitty official romhack and had better combat then P5.
The soundtrack is excellent but the game is really shitty about spreading songs. I feel like the same five songs played in every location almost.
Falls victim to the jrpg problem of introducing a new character, establish and overcome their main motivation, then not really doing anything with them after that sadly.
Goro is pretty badly written in all honesty.
Little replayability but I guess that's whatever when the base game is 100 hours or so.
>I think a demon would know your knife is fake when it doesn't actually penetrate them, though.
that's the thing. if the demon doesn't know that it's fake then it will penetrate him just fine. such is the power of metaverse
>have to cover 98% of her face for her to be remotely attractive
Not the face, just the 10head
Haru is 12/10 when wearing a hat, her hair and forehead don't work without one
Why would I lie about enjoying a game story ?
