That's bullshit. The champions that got reworked play to the same strengths that their original kit had, they just changed skills and how to execute that kit. The only difference is that these champions don't have suboptimal skill sets anymore, so you don't have to be one of 7 people who figured out how to make that suboptimal skill set work.

Sejuani turned from a 5v5 monster that could potentially shut down entire teams with hard-to-land AoE stuns and 5 man slows into yet another single target hard-cc and burst champ for "pro level" chainstuns. Gragas lost literally everything in his kit except the ult in return for becoming yet another single target hard cc and burst champ for "pro level" chainstuns. Galio turned from an interesting antimage into a fucking joke. Eve once had a clear and simple play pattern and now she's yet another faceroll assassin with the "look I negated the enemy's counterengage with my skillset that makes me immune to the enemy counterengage" package

Riot calls it a strategy game. It's a game where you build a team out of hundreds of characters and try to achieve a general goal, but you're only allowed to build one type of team and use one method to achieve that goal.

League's art design has improved a shitload. The game's also extremely optimized, current Rift has less poly's than the old one (tho many of the original problems came from how fucking retarded the original devs were)
The rest is a mixbag of bad and weird things. Balance is ass, they refuse to nerf/change champions purely on playerbase, they ignore many champs that could really get new content/reworks, the ranked system is complete trash, the coding is shit, the lore has been (and is still being) destroyed to no end and they pander way too much with skins.
Also they hired motherfucking Anthony B.
The new loot system and blue essence systems is a double edged sword, but imo I still get as many IP as I used to while getting free skins from time to time, which is good in my book.

Yeah, according to some well known leaker on the /vg/ thread Icefrog stopped balancing for a long time and came back pissed about a ton of shit they changed. I don't know about Malz but Swain was a great rework for me. I spammed Swain to abuse him since he was busted top lane due to retarded E Q AA harass, and that was fun but it was also brain dead as fuck so there were very few Swain mains aside from Quas, could not stand playing him for a long period of time. Now he at least requires more thought to play and it's more rewarding, being able to reactive a full 5-stacked ultimate on a low HP enemy team can be really satisfying.

He is much tankier and his lane is extremely oppressive.
