How will Ubi fuck up the series even further with the new one?
How will Ubi fuck up the series even further with the new one?
They won’t, it’ll be a better Blacklist with bigger mission areas. Nostalgiacucks can go suck a dick.
yeah right
Can you imagine they used to release games almost every year back in the day? idk wtf is happening.
Blacklist is better than CT
>inb4 triggered CTbabies
But muh Ironside!
If they design the maps like Hitman 2016 but with splinter cell in mind, they've saved the franchise.
>GR:Wildlands, but now in the dark!
>female protag in skintight sneaking suit
GO GO GO
Funny that sounds like the original pitch for Conviction. Everyone hated hobo Sam, but the maps were supposed to be huge open ended environments with lots of paths to complete each objective. Multiplayer too was a bit like Assassins Creed where the spies blended into the crowds while the mercs were cops.
Based shad lad
that just sounds like assassin's creed 100%.
let's be real though, if they ever use social stealth, they should just have the crowds be a tool to escape into the shadows.
Open world. I just have a feeling they'll try to make it open world because that's just what they do.
they will make it open world like MGSV. also all the missions will be during the day and will be 10 times easier if you just run and gun instead of trying to stealth
to be fair, if they modeled the next one a lot after MGSV, particularly the stealth mechanics, added in variable shadows, minus the open world, and make it just open ended like the originals, we'd have something next level.
>also all the missions will be during the day and will be 10 times easier if you just run and gun instead of trying to stealth
That's pretty much cucklist summed up.
Why not just make an xpack for CT? It would be easy, low cost, and it would please everyone.
maxime fucking beland.
>all the missions will be during the day
wrong
>10 times easier if you just run and gun instead of trying to stealth
wrong
Confirmed for not having played Blacklist.
honestly if they released CT remastered I would get it. Was one of the comfiest couch co op experiences ever and some of the best multiplayer memories I've had
>spy running from merc
>goes around corner
>hugs wall and uses active camo
>merc walks by not seeing
some of the most entertaining shit back in the day
You can put Blacklist on perfectionist difficulty and then you can turn off all the UI elements and it becomes better than Chaos Theory.
I like both
and this is laughably false
Blacklist is a great game
>fight me
Piratefag here, looking to play some new games. Which splinter cell games are worth a download?
I'll give you a shave you won't forget.
I’ll back you up.
It may be better than CT, but it’s a totally different game than CT.
Blacklist annd CT
the original 3, PC Double Agent is next level fucked. PT is fucked still, but you can patch it using a wrapper. Post the cutscene files if you ever find them, i want the story.
1, 3, 4 on original Xbox and Blacklist.
2 is ok if you liked the rest and 360 Double Agent/Conviction are trash.
Ehhhh kinda. I still preferred the locales you go to in CT and even DA. Blacklist had a pretty lame selection of settings for the missions.
Great? No. A step in the right direction? Yes.
yeah it will most definitely be open world, there's just no way it won't be
blacklist on hard difficulties is an excellent stealth game. imagine mgs5 stealth and controls but an actually direxted experience
fucking great co op too
>Blacklist had a pretty lame selection of settings for the missions.
I somewhat agree. I guess it makes sense that to remove kebab you need to go to Arab shitholes, but still, some levels were pretty generic. Though several locations were great.
>Tehran
>Gitmo
>that Christmas themed mall
>the Voron facility and the former psych ward in co-op
There's still a dedicated, active spies vs mercs discord community that plays CT through tunngle, i lurk there if anyone wants the invite to ever play again.
I hope my boy Kestrel wakes up.
They're alright, I guess. I just miss climbing high-rises for the most part. Most of the missions in Blacklist also took part in dirty places or run down buildings, now that I think about it. Overall, I liked the game, it was definitely a step in the right direction and I think they can do great stuff in the next one but they really need better variety in locales.
This would not surprise me much. The western market has proven very receptive to greater female representation, especially with character designs like that.
Grim a thicc.
>exclusive to xbox one
is dead yes
>expecting it to be exclusive
>ubisoft
come on user, really?
>rabbids
yes
because in addition to montreal's works, shanghai made PT and Double Agent 7th gen edition. the series isn't as popular as it used to be.
Why would it be exclusive?
>open world
You know it.
mario plus rabbids, user.
the mario part.
>game no one cares about
They really waifu'd her up in BL.
The series hasn't been great since Chaos Theory. So what will it take to make the games great again? No way they are going to go back to their roots since stealth is too hard for nu gamers.
>he didn't play blacklist as ghost on hardest difficulty
BL was goat
I actually really enjoyed Conviction for what it was.
Doing a purist non-lethal run didn't even feel like a splinter cell game
also
>first person segments
>extracting a guy from the mansion segment
>daylight missions
it was either double agent 6th or 7th that had daylight missions too.
>BL
>good
That shit doesn't even deserve to be canon. Nowhere near the greatness of CT.
>Sams daughter will be protag and she'll be less cute than any Siege fem operator
>Sam retires but will somehow be even younger than he was in BL
>Open World
>Microtransactions for stealth camo or something equally bullshit
>M-M-muh nightime only missions
Are you an idiot? How does having only night-time missions make the game better? And don't say story, there's no reason an elite agent should absolutely have to wait until nightime to infiltrate if there's some doomsday plot going on that he needs to stop
what did I miss? are they making a new one?
I've only ever played a bit of Double Agent when I was a babbu on gamecube or some shit, and more recently tried to do a bit of the original on PC and found it unfun and janky.
Is it okay if I just skip to Chaos Theory since I've heard that's the best, and are any of the ones AFTER Chaos Theory even worth it?
It got leaked on amazon canada. Besides, its well overdue for a new title and its got the perfect time to come out during the resurgence of TC games with Division and Siege
Amazon listing for splinter cell 2018 or 2019 I forgot
because cameras. splinter cell is supposed to be based in reality remember. cameras have a MUCH farther field of view during the day and it would be virtually impossible to conduct missions.
DA is a shitshow on anything not OG xbox/gc/ps2, and as a hardcore splinter cell fan I loved conviction as an action spin-off sort of thing, Blacklist is a must, play ghost on perfectionist difficulty. You can skip DA
You sound like a faggot, just go straight to Blacklist.
pirate PT, or skip to Chaos Theory. Try the split jump in really narrow hallways.
the ocp is also useful for both cameras and lights.
ring foil rounds also knock bitches out and pops lights.
Except sam has an electronic jammer equipped to his pistol in 3 that can temporarily disable cams... or there are plenty of ways to disable/bypass shit that are more sophisticated than "stay in the shadows". Not a good argument
What happened to the Tom Hardy movie
Oh wait you're asking if you should play only CT and some after? Fuck off, play 1 and 2 before CT, they are still great games and will make you appreciate the improvements in CT so much more
unironically this
By not getting Ironside. But most likely, by excessive hand-holding and mimicking the Bourne and Craig Bond movies with an emotional story where the leader of ISIS is Sam's cousin or something.
i mean cameras that the operator isn't close enough to spot yet. cameras that will set off an alarm before he even reaches his entry point. the OCP only temporarily disables things, for a few seconds at that. wouldn't be enough time. only solution i can think of is to have grimm hack into their network before the infiltration, which also has the potential to set off an alarm and i'm not sure if it's even possible.
my one complaint about blacklist apart from not being able to sneak right past the enemy's leg in the shadows is that drone operators jam your sonar and your night vision. Why your night vision? why not just sonar? your game's dark as fuck, let us see.
SC is a shit series with only a good game (CT). Of course it will be bad, as always
>a few seconds
Dude have you played 3 at all? Stuff is disabled for at the very least 10 seconds, more than enough time for sam to get through whatever corridor he needs to or his next cover point. Furthermore, even if there are chokeholds with cams that Sam can't reach, there's always an alternative pathway that has no cameras. A camera being outside, in the daylight means that Sam is also outside, and so could go through a vent or something. If the camera is inside, Sam just needs to shoot the lights around it. Finally, except for chaos theory, Sam could always just shoot the camera without incurring an alarm. You are trying way too hard to invalidate this
stupid fucking contrarians
While I agree about the drone thing, you have to admit that even if you were in an absolutely pitch black room, you would sense the presence of someone less than 3 feet away from you
well, heres the thing, blindfold yourself, and start walking around. You won't sense anything, feel anything, until you hit it.
there's a lot that goes on before the missions start. in order for maximum covertness, he has to jump from an aircraft several miles away from the target. secure areas typically have guard patrols in the surrounding environment. plus there's cameras facing outwards at you when you finally reach the outskirts of the base/building/wherever. daylight infiltrations only work with some kind of disguise, which has a higher potential for getting the operator caught, and third echelon has to take as many precautions as they can to stay unknown or the president will be impeached for war crimes.
I get that it was OK compared to Conviction but please, it's a "find the route that lets you skip all the enemies" simulator. Plus monkey jumping Fisher was ridiculous as hell. Frankly the game felt more fun to play aggresively than going full stealth.
But the guards aren't wearing blindfolds... your eyes adjust to the dark eventually, maybe you can't see everything but you can certainly tell if someone is within arm's reach.
>Frankly the game felt more fun to play aggresively than going full stealth.
This, panther was fun as fuck.
1 & 2 are terrible stealth games full of forced action-segments and terrible level design that let's you no freedom at all. And better not to talk about anything post CT.
start walking around in the dark then. turn off all of your lights, and start walking around. You still won't see anything until you're so close you can kiss it. It's even darker in areas that don't allow nocturnal light, like for instance what's going on in the games, why so many are set in hallways, dark dark inside environments, etc etc.
stupid
fucking
contrarians
There's a difference between being in a dark room and wearing a blindfold. And even with a blindfold, you could likely sense someone breathing, slowly stepping and shifting next to you.
prove me wrong
>so close you can kiss it
You mean right fucking next to you, as I've been saying this whole time? OP said "walking by his leg"
There are literally daylight missions in two of the first three games, and sam has never worn a disguise. And yes, the missions are of utmost confidentiality but there are scenarios in which sam literally has to stop a nuke from going off or something equally catastrophic, they don't always have time to wait till night so they send him in anyway. Sam isn't a nightime only guy, he's expected to be undetected in any scenario
you'd think that somebody like sam would be able to hold his breath, or maybe his mask hides his breathing. this is one of the more unexplained parts of the game so there's too many logical explanations.
You can sense movement when blindfolded though. You've never played a game as a kid when someone gets blindfolded and has to catch people walking around him?
you sound mad as fuck lmao
that's a game?
It's one thing to sit in the darkest corner of the room for a while, it's another thing entirely for a grown ass man who weighs a bit less than 200 pounds with gear and weapons on him walk right past a supposedly trained enemy in a dark environment.
Another infamous one is the goggles. This is a bad example but why didn't they go out of their way to have Fisher say "what's with these stupid green lights" and have lambert explain "damn it Fisher those are infared green lights we use to track your movements, they are invisible to the naked eye" or something like that. It would have shut some people up, made everyone happy.
Honestly, this is a franchise where the protagonist seems to age in reverse, some gaps in logic aren't surprising.
