They've patched in story cutscenes to explain things; I know they patched in a scene showing Ravus' death, so Noctis doesn't just stumble over him. There's more too.
It was never true anyway that it was just Noctis' point of view; there was a whole scene with Iedolas and Verstael and others that Noctis wouldn't have known about. Then there's how they copy pasted Kingsglaive scenes. It was always a dumb wrong excuse.

They created an amazing character an put together a beautiful yet tragic love story, the problem is they cut most of her content. Even after the switch from Versus to XV they still planned for it to be multiple games, with Luna they had to boil her character down as far as they could to get her to fit into the game and that meant nearly all her love story with Noctis and all her screentime is gone. At one point not even that far before release she was playable, still has files in the game showing as such. She was never meant to be a cardboard character but with all the shit that happened she turned out seeming like one with most of her content missing.
As far as that one scene goes she was only allowed to be there to help noctis, as you can see by them reaching out to touch she wasn't allowed any more than that.

It's quite good when you stand back and look at it but uh, it would have helped if they remembered to put the other 90% of their love story in the game.

It really is a massive disappointment, the concept and details to their love story are wonderful but with Luna having almost all her screentime removed from the game they undermined the whole thing.
I would have loved for her to join the playable cast early on to kickstart Noctis in his emotional problem solving but also to explain to the player some of the story points that were also poorly laid out. Even without that they still could have saved this "chase for Luna" idea they went with by having far more child flashbacks and more dealing with the book so we could understand their situation better.

Yeah, there's really not much to convince the player that they actually love each other. All we get are some short scenes where they met when they were children. We don't even know for how long. Could have been for just half an hour for all we know.

It's not shown very well but from what Luna says it would seem they made a promise as kids to get married when they were older, Luna had been holding on tightly to that dream her whole life. They wrote a touching love story and only show us 5% of it so the entire thing is frustrating.
Supposedly there was a lot more of them as children including a scene with Luna getting abused by an Empire general but that wasn't in the game obviously.

Well they are tied together by destiny either way, them being married like some of the other previous kings and their oracles makes sense, even Gentiana makes an offhand comment about how good they are together.
My interpretation of it was that she was going through her duty as the oracle to help Noctis but in the end it was him understanding her love for him that was what truly inspired him to get the job done. Unfortunately the only real look into this is the few lategame cutscenes you get. It also would have helped it Ravus had more content in the game as well, both him cockblocking Noctis and helping Luna.
