Atelier Lydie & Suelle getting released on PC next week

Atelier Lydie & Suelle getting released on PC next week.

Are you looking forward to it? Did anyone even play the previous 2 games?

I own 7 Atelier games and I've only played 2.

I enjoyed Sophie and I'm liking Firis so far.
I hope the port isn't garbage for once.

>pc
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

btw what happened to the gust general on /jp/ ? Did the mods nuke it ?

Sounds legit, I've thought about buying L&S even if I never played it.
I enjoyed them too but 3 games in the span of like what, 1 year? It's a bit exhausting.
I don't expect the port to be any different from the usual.

Gust should just slow down I think. What are their next games anyway ?

No bully.
I dunno, I don't think people talk about these games at all though.

They're making a mobile atelier game, I don't think their other IPs really worked out.

There was a few discusions along with a couple of Ar Tonelico autist who knew everything about the lore.

I 'm not a big gust fan but this was a comfy general, I miss it.

I don't think people go to /jp/ at all nowadays, let alone for niche games like gust.

Lesbian Vampire 2 tanked (rightfully so as it was worst than the 1st).
Blue Reflection did kinda ok.
Lidye and Suelle also tanked in Japan apparently, because nips didn't like Firis being a complete shitshow in term of performance before the patchs.

Oh, I just checked the thread is back. They just didn't make a new one for two weeks.

Reminder that even the Mysterious series low sales it still did better than Iris or Mana khemia

I've heard that L&S didn't do too well in Japan. Partly because Firis was buddy due to being rushed out and partly because of franchise fatigue. Gust said that Atelier is the only franchise that makes them money though so if they don't release games they can't stay afloat.
It's pretty sad overall.

>tfw no exa pico game anymore

>buddy
Buggy, this was a long day.
It was a pretty big shift going from the pretty dark Dusk series into the bubbly cute Mysterious series. I dunno how much the PC releases helped Mysterious out though.

The age of PS2/PS3 jrpgs is pretty much gone now. If Gust doesn't have the personnel and skill to develop modern games then they'll just get left behind the times. Maybe they should just go the Marvelous route and make porn games until they can make enough money to start making niche games again.

They're announcing the next Atelier in May or June.
>I enjoyed them too but 3 games in the span of like what, 1 year? It's a bit exhausting.
The Mysterious ports have caught up with the console releases now, so it should slow down to the usual one game each year. Unless they start porting the earlier arcs too, which I wouldn't mind since I preferred them to Sophie and Firis.

True, they were just all rolled out on PC at once. I'm not sure if they would port earlier games. I don't know how much porting costs but if they can do it there's no reason not to.

Ded gam ded thred

Is there some overarching lore between each Atelier ? Like some kind of timeline ?

Nope, each trilogy is it's own separate thing other than recurring characters like Pamela and Hagel

Honestly I'm not a 100% on the lore. I think each trilogy is it's own world but sometimes characters from other series appear too. Maybe they're parallel worlds or something.

Will the next Atelier be about the true Hermetic tradition ?

Hopefully they go with my suggestion and make ecchi games.

Well, Date A Live already turned the Tree of Life into a fucking harem story so it's not exclusive.

The concept of alchemy porn games isn't a particularly new thing but atlier could be very easily a dating game. Maybe just except for the fact that most mcs are female.

Attached: Atelier-4.jpg (1280x720, 284K)

I too have 7 Atelier games, and I've started most of them but finished done of them. I just can't finish games any more, I'm always bouncing around to something else

>have to craft gold
>yfw the ingredients are shits, sweets, and sperms, all from the same person

I'd feel like Atelier being a dating game would ruin the serie, I don't really know why. I've only played the first two games of the mysterious serie but I'd prefer more lore.

That's pretty pathetic considering how many platforms Mysterious was released on.

Same, especially with story oriented RPGs, when you're so far into the story it gets hard to keep track.

They should consider spin off games that have different playstyles, perhaps? I'd like to see a purely management style sim in the Atelier world, like Recettear? Manage your Atelier, hire adventurers to collect materials for you. Buy and sell stock.

At first your goal is to just make enough money to pay rent but you eventually decide to be the best store in the city. You meet new characters who join your team and expand your store to sell different goods. Like, from being an alchemist potion store to basically Walmart where you can buy everything in one place. A chef joins your team and you have to manage food on top of potions. An investment banker gets involved and now you need to deal with handling large amounts of money and investments. Soon you're juggling 100 things at once. You can create homunculi to try and get them to take some of the workload, but you still need to be present in every department.

>Even MORE high impact sexual violence

Sophie had a lot of lore though. It was an ancient powerful alchemist teaching alchemy to a young, energetic but otherwise untalented girl.

Gust has made yuri games recently, so why not keep the trend going? Lots of Atelier fans also seem to enjoy Totori x Mimi too, so I doubt they'd be against it? If you want, just have guy options to date too and let players pick whoever.

Well even Recettear had the dungeon crawling aspect. It seems like developers can't really break away from the formula.

Well, I'm not big into yuri but I don't mind it.

Well you had the ancient alchemy and some weird stuff here and there but nothing is explained at all.

I fucking love the art of L&S and I'm still playing the jp demo to this day. I hope the pc port isn't a piece of shit with 100% cpu load bug and low res UI but KT never learns. Also there's currently a free ps4 theme on the US store featuring L&S best girl.

Are they going to include a Japanese language option for the text? I'd prefer to read the original but most of the time they don't include it in these ports for some reason

I really wish they would just fucking port the Dusk and Arland series.

It's been a while since I played Sophie but I think the point is that alchemy is drawing out the natural essences of objects to transform them. Then there was aberrant alchemy? Or whatever it was called that was a lot more powerful but it didn't draw the nature of objects out and forced them to transform.
Plachta would talk about a lot of stuff though, there's probably more stuff than I paid attention to.

Just import it.

The art looks pretty cute and it has best girl too.
I think they only have Japanese audio.

Which Atelier game(s) is/are considered the best? I've only played Atelier Rorona Plus and Totori Plus and thus far I'd say Atelier Rorona > Totori.

dumb anime poster

This is a doll crafted by an old man.

Attached: Plachta_-_Stars.png (1451x1451, 1.06M)

I think it's just up to personal preferences, I've heard people say all kinds of stuff.

Old man is the best

Oh yeah but I mostly wanted to know about the elementals, the dragons, the ruins, the demons and the alternate dimension.

Meruru is definitely at the top, excluding the series before the trilogy of course.

I think that was just stuff that naturally exists in the world, I never really thought about basic fantasy things in a basic fantasy world. I was too busy repairing a music box for the loli and stuff.

nice buttplug tail, real subtle

I'm pretty sure that's her soul gem or whatever.

I dig weird lore way too much I guess. I didn't really care for the characters either. Firis was a nice improvement on that front.

I keep hearing horror stories about the recent PC games and I'm not sure if I can run them anyway, but I hope this is good. I'm going to start the series with Marie since it's translated now.

Well you wouldn't normally wave around your soul in such a vulnerable way so most of the time you would keep it inside your body for protection.

I think there's a notebook where you can see some explanation of creatures, items, locations and stuff but I never really went into it desu. And the quests too have some text.
Firis was cute but it was a little underwhelming that Firis was a natural genius at alchemy. From the moment she got a furnace she overshadowed basically every other alchemist that you meet in the game. The whole journey was just her getting more lexical knowledge but her ability was maxed out from the start.

Do these games have high system requirements? I haven't really had problems but I have a fairly new PC. But you never know with the ports. Actually though one of the ateliers might be the game that bugged out when I alt-tabbed every time. I can't remember though.
The controls are a puzzle to figure out each time though but that's to be expected at this point.
Who would hurt such a cutie though?

Attached: A18Plachta.png (490x690, 116K)

The notebook offers nothing, it's mostly characters joking or talking about whatever you're looking at.

>Firis was cute but it was a little underwhelming that Firis was a natural genius at alchemy.

Yeah, I'm mostly talking about the recruitable characters. They're much better than the one in Sophie, I just wish the pupetter joined for one last travel.
I could run NoA2 on my shitty laptop but it kept crashing randomly after a few hours of play. I think the games are basically PS3-tiers but the ports are terrible. I didn't have any problem with NoA1 though.

GUST has always been shit at optimization. Working on multiple platforms at once has only made the issue worse.

Nice book.

Well I guess that's what you'd get if you didn't have some zoologist and archeologist with you.
I liked Drossel in Firis, Ilmeria was cute too, the rest I didn't care much about.
The PC ports are not the best for sure but they're not unplayable.

Attached: Atelier-Firis_07-18-16_004.jpg (600x849, 244K)

I only have the guys in my party; the historian and the mercenary are great, and Revy's okay. I'd like to put Sophie in the party too, but I don't know who to kick out.

I think I had the chuuni kid for a while, the rest of the guys I never talked more than once.

Is this yuri?

No.

He's the first one you recruit.
Dude in Firis are cool, in Sophie they were just a bunch of fujo-bait.

They're twins you know so maybe

They're related, so probably not
but we can still hope

I care more about the girls honestly. I generally ditch the guys straight away and Sophie had best girl Cornelia.
