I see this a lot on steam. Especially for the really popular games. In fact, I think every single one of the top 10 MOST PLAYED games on Steam have "Mixed" or worse reviews.
How can a $20 game provide you with literally thousands of hours of entertainment and then at the end you're like MEH.
If something is able to hold your attention for more than a hundred hours, and you say you hate it, then you're retarded. It doesn't take me a hundred hours to realize I hate something.
reddit spacing probably some political oriented review though

This.
Also, this happens because games change these days. They are never really finished products, especially online games. Any game is one update away from being a total piece of shit.
Jack Young
>enjoy game >it gets updated >changes or adds something that makes you not enjoy it anymore
Because some games change, you retard. A game might be initially good and then get fucked over by retarded updates. Further, it could just be some fag who plays the game a lot and gets personally offended by something that changed or was introduced.
Christian Roberts
People need to shut up about how posts are spaced.
Nolan James
Except that 90% of the time the people downvoting the game are still playing it every day. I just think that we've entered an age where big companies can release a $60 steaming pile of shit and get a free pass, and something can cost $20 and give you a month's worth of real-time gameplay, and if it doesn't finger your asshole during the happy ending, it's a downvote.
Adam Bailey
Probably because there was a patch that changed the game, maybe it fixed an exploit that the person liked to use.
Josiah Cook
To save other faggots their hundreds of hours journey you stupid faggot. How is that so hard to understand?
Cooper Brown
You'd be surprised at how one patch can ruin a game you loved beforehand.
Connor Sanders
Reddit spacing is a dumb meme pushed by people desperately trying to fit in, but OP's post uses awful and unnecessary spacing.
Ethan Gonzalez
I honestly don't even see the problem unless its

>someone plays a game for thousands of hours >"I won't take this rating seriously despite reading the reasons why he does not recommend it, as well as his time to come to these conclusions" The only people who cannot understand these kinds of reviews are the same brainlets reviewers are trying to protect from making a bad purchasing decision.
Why in the fuck would someone require hundreds of hours to know they hate a game? What the fuck is wrong with gamers these days? I remember when SNES was the #1 console on the market, I needed fifteen minutes to know if I was having fun or not. I didn't need literally hundreds of hours to "figure out" if something is fun. I hate this new generation of gamers so much. Faggotry hasn't been this dangerous since the AIDS epidemic.
John Lewis
Working in marketing I can tell you it's because people are 100% retarded and don't know how they feel about anything.
Andrew Gonzalez
most people who smoke tobacco for a long time also say that its terrible, and wish they never started, but they continue do you know why
Dominic Evans
Steam reviews are temporary you can change them at anytime. Most people review games based on current state now. Like this:
Carter Davis
I dont know, why did you cut the actual review for your image? Is it because they laid out a reason for their negative review? Like, for example, an update to the game?
Dumbass OP
Jayden Ramirez
nah mate it's really is true i've seen it
Lincoln Brown
How do so many faggots hate cocaine if they spend thousands of hours tripping on it?
David Wilson
No, I cut it out because I didn't want to make it seem like I was shilling for a particular game or that this was about a particular game. If I had included the review, it would imply that I was butthurt about a specific game and not a problem in general. But if you're that curious, here is the full review, in context.
Games can be popular and addicting but objectively very bad. In fact this trifecta is very profitable, so capitalism makes it ever increasingly common in the current industry. MMOs, MOBAs, team shooters, and most mobile games strive for this, and many acheive it.
Jonathan James
you either finish the game while it's fresh, or play long enough to nitpick
Carson Morgan
I've played Stellaris for probably something like 300-400 hours, but when patch 2.0 hit (which was lauded as the big gamechanging patch to fix EVERYTHING) it introduced a fuckton of new bugs and mechanics that didn't even make sense, or were flat out not finished or thought through. They're slowly fixing it but as a patch released alongside a new DLC, shit was in an unacceptable state.
That's a legit reason to complain, for example. But I am sure you don't really give a shit and just want to rile people up.
Ian Walker
You gotta remember that games can be patched these days. A little change here, a little change there and over time a game can mutate into something that is inferior to what it was. And that's just the little stuff. Take Team Fortress 2 for instance, so much shit has been tacked on since release that it feels like the game is pulling you in dozens of directions and none of it feels that well thought out as when considered as a whole. I don't think I've ever touched that Mann Up (?) mode with the grappling hook and the powers or whatever. Team Fortress 2 these days is a good game largely in spite of itself because the gameplay foundation is still so solid.
Jordan Mitchell
>here is the full review It's the full and shit review alright.
>in context. No, we don't have context for the review.
Kayden Ross
>Leave shitty game running while I’m not home >wait a few weeks >write a negative review that actually seems like a played it
>Pay for a license to rent game specifically from Steam on Steam ftfy Why do so many mentally ill people give money to Steam?
Michael Torres
This one happens to be pubg. But pick any game from the top 10 most played. ARK? TF2? DOTA 2? Doesn't matter. It seems like every single most-played game on Steam is filled with people who hate the game but spend thousands of hours playing it anyway. I hate using the word "entitled" but that's what it feels like these days.
Landon Wilson
Your thread is shit and you're retarded, OP. It's time for some Ito up in this bitch.
>game comes out >it's fucking amazing Rate it 10/10 >devs "patch" it >adds bugs, shitty microtransactions, and overhauls gameplay >it's shit Rate it 0/10
This isn't difficult to understand?
Andrew Ramirez
You mad bro? im going to thumb down all my games now just to spite you
Andrew Watson
>Romanian Found the problem, OP. Third world nigger.
It only sold because it had "Grand Theft Auto" in the title. If it was a new IP by a no name company it would be in the gutter where it belongs.
This makes literally no sense. You have played games for over 700 hours that you doin't even enjoy? Why play them then? The fuck is wrong with you? There's more than 5 games out there. How shit must your life be that you spend 700 hours of optional time doing something you don't even enjoy?
Jayden Peterson
you haven't seen a game get totally fucked by balance change patch then theres plenty of reasons your just not thinking of them.
I bet you're the type of person that thinks TF2 right now is the same TF2 we played back in 2007-2008. Pro tip, It isn't.
Reviews change when they change the game into trash.
Even CSGO went through this with the lootbox trash and completely fucking up how the game feels. Don't forget shit like the tec9 rape, shit deagle, and the Revolver fiasco that basically turned the game into a western for a week.
Want reviews to stay positive? Don't completely flip the game on it's head for extra shekels.
I play them habitually, it passes the time until i get to sleep again
Aaron Wood
What makes you think they never enjoyed the game? You're being obtuse. Clearly at some point people dislike the game for changes made by devs, or they lose patience with the devs. In the case something like pubg I would put money on the latter. At a certain point I'm sure plenty of people are just done waiting for things to get fixed, they drop the game, and submit a negative review as they move on to Fortnite or whatever the fuck
Isaiah Bailey
>you haven't played it long enough to form an opinion about it! >if you didn't like it why did you play it for so long?! you can't win
Eh, whatever. To each their own. Usually, if I don't find a game fun, I don't put 700 hours in it. It's ion these moments I remember that more than 1 game exists in the world.
Isaiah Rodriguez
What annoys me is how people on Steam are so quick to defend games. >Its still early access >The game just launched >You're just a troll making up shit >You haven't played long enough to say its bad >You've played too long to say its bad >These are just indie devs >The game's not badly optimised or a shit port, its just your machine >Don't complain about bugs or glitches in the reviews you have to do it in the discussions forum >I bet you're just shit at the game
Fuck off, if a game is bad then its bad and no excuse will stop it from being bad.
Ryder Perez
this desu
Juan Wilson
Then why did you keep playing for another 680 hours? It's just baffling desu m8
I've not had fun in a game in a long time, and i own several hundred, i still put 70-100 hours in every two weeks, it's just a habit that i use to pass the time
Nathan Cook
>Newfags pretending they are not newfag using buzzwords Wew.
Austin Scott
What else am i gonna do to pass the time until i can sleep?
If someone played hundreds of something and they still hate it. Then you can understand that the game doesn't get better X amount of hours in.
Lucas Garcia
Play a game you enjoy? Certainly the thought must have crossed your mind, no? This cannot possibly be the first time anyone, in all of your life, has ever raised this idea?
Imagine you liked some kind of food. I tried a bite of it and said, "This is garbage." and started telling everyone not to eat it. You don't want the food provider to stop turning a profit and shut down so you defend it. Then I make a retarded comment like this . How does that make you feel?
Jackson Green
They want to enjoy it. They really, really want to enjoy it. But it doesn't add up. They've played with thousands of people and they hate almost every one of them, horrible balancing makes certain weapons impossible to counter (they know, they've tried everything), and for as much as they can kill time on it, they can't say that it was really fulfilling, they can't say they want more of it, they can't say that they stop playing the game every night happy rather than pissed over how bullshit something in the game was or angry over a loss.
Basically, a game that's good on the first playthrough but then all its flaws shine through. Like Dark Souls 3.
Sup Forums is like the biggest, blackest dick. I can't contain myself anymore, I have been spoiled with freedom of speech. Other sites will ban you and report you to the police or your employer for the shit I can post here without consequence. My internet pussy is so stretched out I can't feel other websites anymore. I have the ace of yotsuba tattooed above my womb. Don't forget, you're here forever.
If some autist was actively going around and trying to prevent people from eating at my favourite restaurant then I wouldn't especially care because who gives a shit. Besides, wouldn't this be more like someone giving the place a bad Yelp review? Who the fuck cares? Food is mostly subjective anyway, and if its objectively shit then it deserves to be shut down even if a few shitlovers like it.
Gabriel Adams
Because some games have faggots telling you: >It's gets good after 200 hours bro. I found this to be the cause with Civilization games. You get to turn over 9000 and you are still watching grass grow until you win. All the build up just leads to disappointing game play.
