But as I pointed out, Drill Man isn't from either of the first two games. He's from MM4, so the RMs they're including in the series doesn't appear to have a set limitation judging by the image we have here. Wave Man could just as easily be there too.

It really doesn't look like it. And the other RMs don't even look radically different from their original designs. You can still tell Guts Man is Guts Man, and Ice Man is Ice Man. They just look kind of shitty and weird. The same applies to Wave Man.
