Any anons here use a projector for gaming? Would you recommend?

Why the fuck would anyone want to use a projector? They always look like shit, and the colors always look awful.
Besides washed out colors like the other user mentioned, you usually have extreme input delay, ranging 200+ms or more.
Imagine trying to play a fucking twitch fps or rts with 200 ping.
OP. He projects pretty damn hard on Sup Forums.
projectors sound pretty autistic for home use
What??
retard
>tfw giantess fetish
>had to buy a projector just to jack it to 10ft tall women
maybe its a meme u cant grasp newling
Same
>no shame
They got better recently, but only at the high end
you have to spend big, its not really worth it
Wait for proper OLED with dolby HDR
....Wh-why not just move your face closer to a monitor?
Real talk though, whats up with giantess fetishes?
Like what started it and what about it turns you on or something?
I legit am curious to understand.
I was born with something called Depth Perception. Miraculously, I can tell the size of objects and people despite their distance.
hes talking about angle of vision though
worth it just to laugh at the idea of a dude doing this.
The bulbs are more expensive than gallons of printer ink
I hear the bulbs need replacing after a while.
That true?
IT DOESN'T MATTER , here I drew it out for you. Getting closer to the screen does not work.
Enjoy your input lag
3000-5000 hours roughly. They cost from $50 to $150 commonly
I have the Epson 5030ub. Very bright, even usable in reasonable light. Projectors actually have less slag than the majority of televisions. Epson projectors also have very good positioning controls compared to other manufacturers, you are able to move the whole image right/left and up/down making it very easy to center on a screen or wall. I will never but a TV again and will always go for projectors.
This holy fuck I could just imagine playing a 30FPS console game.
user, first of all thank you for taking the time with drawing that, It's hilarious.
But i was just trolling with the first question. Feels bad making fun of someone's fetish.
But seriously it would actually help us understand a little if you answered this
Optoma 1080GT owner. Shit’s great. Input lag fags have no idea what they’re talking about. As long as you’re not a knuckle dragging shit for brains, you adjust quickly to it.
Take a field trip, find out for yourself
What is it with Sup Forums being incapable to answer an honest question with some fricking manners?
He was already unsure and was asking for opinions, It wasn't like he was already using one for 10 years.
People on here are out right wrong about projectors and latency/input lag. They are faster than the majority of TVs.
Yeah that's nice and all that, but im at work slacking off.
i'm just curious why.
Projector prices are still based around the idea that they're absolutely necessary for the home theater experience, that is to say, ridiculously overpriced. Meanwhile TVs have gotten exponentially better, larger, and cheaper.
Projectors can still get you a "bigger" screen than most TVs but unless you're willing to shell out thousands of dollars it'll still be at 1080p and require proper placement and light control.
I suppose an upside to a projector is that you can tuck the screen away when it's not in use so you can free up some room, while a big TV plus whatever it's sitting on isn't going to go anywhere once you're done gaming on it.
Replacement bulb costs are also something to consider. And even more worrisome is future availability. I've had a friend with a projector who used his sparingly and by the time his bulb died and he was looking for a replacement he learned the manufacturer was no longer stocking them at MSRP and the only options were third party sellers who bumped the prices up considerably.
tl;dr Unless you've got deep pockets I would choose a TV over a projector in most situations.
>Would you recommend?
yes, IF you can find a good deal on a good one. most of those are overpriced into the exosphere though. start price hunting.
Oh shit, the bulbs ARE like ink cartridges. I know the answers "never ever" but Id love some industry standards with these things
Lord almighty that gif always gets a good laugh out of me.
Optoma W2000 here, input lag is something like 34ms. Colours are better than your average monitor. I wish I had s bigger room, so the black levels would improve.
>this user learned how to turn all porn into giantess porn, and basically you're just fucking retarded
LED projectors might alleviate this issue a bit since they have much longer lifespans than typical projector bulbs.
Unfortunately that doesn't change how expensive they are and they require more light control since they're often not as bright as their lamp bulb brothers. Combined with projector development in general being slow as fuck, I still see a catchall solution for projectors probably still being a long ways off.
Holy shit user
Seriously what the fuck, there are high end projectors that A) have less input lag than most smart TVs and B) have amazing color reproduction (assuming you're projecting onto a high quality screen).
Anyone who hasn't played on a high quality projector in a home theater setup with surround is missing out big time, especially for more cinematic games.
Anyone here owns one of those pico projectors? They seem cool and is cheap enough
Kek, thanks for the illustration user
Back in high school my friends and I used my teacher's projector to play the game for a few hours. It was fine but the only problem was that the bulb blew out the next day. The teacher talked to us saying that the bulb was expensive to replace and that if we wanted to use it then then to pay up to replace it ahead of time. We didn't get in trouble but we never used the projector after that.
Fucking
I'm sure the boys over in /d/ would appreciate this
Do you even play with a projector u faggot. I bet you dont even have a wall big enuff in your cuck shack.
I laughed so hard at that pic. But at least you have style user. And why not VR pron have you considered that.
