What the fuck is wrong with you, you morons!

What the fuck is wrong with you, you morons!
Why did you tell me this game was bad when it's the best fantasy rpg in a long, long time. This game is the greatest thing I've played this year. It's a beautiful journey, where the experiences can go from humbling and heartwarming to an epic spectacle of colossal proportions in mere seconds. The characters are the best in a Final Fantasy title in a long time, finally they are vulnerable and have actual feelings again. You get to experience joy and sorrow together with them, because the game is set up in a way that lets you accompany them for entire days from waking up to bed time, and this leads to levels of immersion never seen before in the series. I'm looking forward to more content and mod support now, who else is?

What are the best JRPGs you've played in the past 10 years?

Sounds like that's his first JRPG.

You guys are just faggots with no taste.

>PC keks

op please stop sucking dicks

Idk what they've changed since I played, but what I played was shit, and I didn't sign up for final fantasy early access, so fuck square enix

XV-kun...

I'm curious, used to like this game then they updated it with a God mode you can turn on with the press of a button. Destroys the difficulty and engagment I had

>difficulty and engagement
XV has never, ever had this.

fpbp. FFXV is the the Skyrim of JRPGs

literal pasta OP, XV-kun still at it as much as marketer-kun is with RE7 threads. Starting to think they're both the same retard.

I agree with your character immersion part.
I don't exactly enjoy their characters but they are believable and feel like actual persons.

>tfw sometimes drive myself because I feel like a dick always letting Ignis drive
Only a few games can achieve that with me

>FFXV launches
>the majority of Sup Forums agress that it's rushed and extremely mediocre at parts
>argues with one autist and a few copycats for an entire year
>releases on PC
>it's suddenly good
do PC players just take what they get because they're starved for games? is it because they've never played a JRPG? how can they have such shit taste?

>playing game
>suddenly get abrupt montage of hometown getting attacked
>looks pretty higher quality than usual too
>find out it's from a movie
what
why

I downloaded the demo on steam and uninstalled it 10 minutes after the tutorial. Why the fuck did they think the best way to advertise their game to potential customers is by making them watch 4 anime girls push a car through a desert

>hated the game because the devs don't know shit about advertising
what?

It's just XV-kun.

>liking an offline MMO with combat where you can just hold a button down to win 95% of fights in a completely empty open-word
>thinking you have taste

So basically, you have zero opinion because you already had the idea in your head about hating the game so you can be different.

Dude, just fucking kill yourself already. No one needs you from your manual labor job. Just let your family be released from the burden of having you.

>what
They patched it in after having released the game.

>why
Because even to this day, they have no fucking idea what they're doing.

just wait until you get the hamfisted omen trailer that literally means nothing and is never mentioned

>Why did you tell me this game was bad when it's the best fantasy rpg in a long, long time.
we were unaware of your terminal shit taste. deepest apologies

>PC version is packaged with every issue fixed from Sonybro version
>wonders why it's good

huh.

This. He keeps fucking making these "YOU LIED TO ME Sup Forums" style threads everyday.

>badly putting together a straw man
>accomplishing nothing in the process

To be fair, the PC version is completely different from the early access release on consoles. It's still not a great game though, just better.

>not having an argument so you use a buzzword you don't understand
>makes himself look like an even bigger retard in the process

They can’t fix the story or characters from the base game

>completely different
Let's stop perpetuating this lie, please

Weeb retard

It is. The ability to character switching brings a whole new element to combat. Now I'm not saying the combat is suddenly good, but it's an improvement. Stop being so desperate to hate the game.

It feels like a frankenstein game.

>"muh buzzwords" while also not having a real argument

>>PC version is packaged with every issue fixed from Sonybro version
>bad and poorly gameplay
>progression is almost non-existant when compared to other RPG
>empty open world
>TERRIBLE boss design
>gladio not caring that his father died
>noct going on a date with a girl the day after his father died
>every single side quest is still shit
>summons system is still shit
>nifilheim empire is still shit
>luna is still shit
>hunts are all are "go here, kill this" with little to no writing around them
>the entire 2nd half of the game is rushed
>DLC still isn't intergrated into the game, . you have to leave the game and navigate menues to access them
>gladio's dlc is just shit
>prompto's dlc has the worst final boss in the entire series
>cor is still a literally who
i could go on but i'm sure you get the point. i don't think it's the worst thing in the world. i'd give it a 6-7/10 with all the new patches (i haven't touched the game since ignis' dlc). but seeing as how all the new cutscenes look like asspulls youtube.com/watch?v=1INzUNhyhPI&t=2s, i'm still not expecting much

I already gave my argument. You're the one who quoted my post without a counter-argument, and still don't have one.

>Sonybro version
You do realize it wasn't a PS4 exclusive right?

>noct going on a date with a girl the day after his father died

This always fucking bothered me really badly. He literally doesn't give two shits about his dad.

meant for

I wouldn't say that makes it *completely* different though. You've said just as much in your post.

You are tiring me. The way you wan't me to address what you wan't me to address is tiring. To be brief, the game is simply not as you described. I enjoy the game.

>simply not as you described

You seem to be having trouble explaining how though.

The fact you enjoyed it isn't an argument, and you haven't even addressed any of the cons I mentioned.

Attached: hmmm.png (660x620, 757K)

>badly putting together a straw man

I'd say all those points are pretty spot-on actually.

>prompto's dlc has the worst final boss in the entire series
That title confidently belongs to Leviathan.

>liking an offline MMO with combat where you can just hold a button down to win 95% of fights in a completely empty open-word
Are we talking about FFXII again?

>be Tabata
>get put in charge of a mainline FF game
>could've just completed Nomura's game for him, with a few because we know you can't into convoluted stories
>decides to waste resources on FUCKING FOOD
>later comes out and says they didn't have time to finish other parts of the game
>WHEN HE HAD ENTIRE TEAMS MAKING VERY DETAILED MODELS OF FOOD THAT DON'T HELP THE GAME IN ANY WAY
these teams could've been used to expand the later areas of the game, what a waste

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 143K)

Sorry, even XII required thought compared to XV.

All these points are legitimate.

It's not bad. If you think FFXV is bad then you haven't played a lot of video games, and no actual bad ones. There is a lot of fucking garbage out there.

Don't be that kid who spits out premium caviar and asks for chuck-e-cheese.

Attached: 1350452665513.png (838x720, 293K)

playing it right now. it's pretty mediocre. it's kinda nice to explore the land and enjoy the sights, and exploring dungeons can be cool. although it sucks that every dungeon I've explored so far has been regular caves.

combat feels really bad and chaotic for the most part. you basically just need to switch to the weapon the monster is weak against, keep circle pressed in and press square to dodge attacks occasionally. if you get hit you can just use potions whenever anyway. use ally techniques whenever they're ready if you want fights to be over faster.

doing side content makes you outlevel the game FAST. I'm nearly level 30 and the main story quest I'm on has a recommended level of 10. The behemoth build up implied that it was gonna be a tough fucking fight but it died in 10 seconds. Don't make a huge open world game that you're supposed to explore then punish you for actually doing it instead of rushing story content.

music is alright, I expected more from Yoko Shimomura. The problem is that the combat music is pretty good but every town track is just super boring. I expect 10/10 music from FF games. Even XIII had a really good soundtrack from start to finish.

story seems like shit so far. obviously the biggest issue is that really important stuff happens off camera and you just know that the reason for this is development hell issues. and that noctis seems really sad when he first learns of his fathers death but you immediately go and do stupid stuff with his friends after as if nothing had happened.

Ironically the game is better than I expected since I had REALLY low expectations, but at the same time I'm just having a hard time staying interested.

If you think FFXV is good then you haven't played a lot of video games, and no actual good ones.

How about this, I'm not "debating" any of you faggots (even though it would be pointless), if you don't acknowledge that the game doesn't fit this baity and over simplified description: "an offline MMO with combat where you can just hold a button down to win 95% of fights in a completely empty open-word", cause I can't believe that you are being honest, and not just baiting me into wasting my time.

It's a decent game that wasted mountains of potential and left an absurd amount of content on the cutting room floor. While there is so much obviously missing they did manage to get a lot of things right at the base design level and the game can hit you with some heavy emotional moments.

>Great settings but they chose to open world meme and wasted all the intriguing ones or put them in DLC
>Great characters but cut most if not all of their story arcs and development
>Great story but gouged out half of it to fit it into a single game and then still cut 30 more hours out

Even ignoring what Versus might have been I still think if XV had been finished and the core issues fixed that it would have been their best ever game, it really had that much potential.

considering the budget the game had and the years it was in development, it's pretty bad

Stop that.

It's an empty wasteland with a broken battle system and a cast of fruitcakes.

alright Sup Forumsros, which of these two boss fights is worse?

>still no argument

Okay.

All the boss fights in this game are so bad. If it's not mechanically bad, then it's the camera.

Lol same here, didn't even bother to pirate it.

leviathan. Worm had Resident evil feeling, i liked it a lot

I won't feed trolls

The soundtrack as a whole isn't as solid as other games but it does have a fair amount of top tier pieces in it, most of them are unfortunately later in the game. The first and second halves of XV feel like two totally different game, you have to experience both to truly understands the rights and wrongs of the title.

The overall world and town themes were big letdowns but holy fuck do they come in with some great songs later on for certain moments.

It's a scale. What do you define as good? It's clearly a passable game. It's above most the shit that is churned out today. I don't see why you'd think otherwise. a 7/10 - 8/10 game is good. If you're any more strict than that then words like great and amazing have absolutely no meaning.

Sup Forums is calling games like nier automata and botw bad too these days. They are really not by any metric. They might not pander to your favourite genre or whatever, but that does not mean that the game in itself is a poor product or that it does not deserve any attention.

All games are flawed inherently. There is not a piece of entertainment that has ever achieved objective perfection. But a game does not have to be perfect to be good.

the mini boss and summon themes are great.

How is it bait exactly? The very first mission is literally an MMO quest of go kill X number of runts and report back, then it's go fetch this and hunt that and come back. This game is nothing but MMO fetch quests., and the majority of enemies can be beaten by holding down a button. The map is also completely empty with only a few small dungeons, samey enemy babes, gas stations, and there' only ONE CITY on the actual map itself, and it's tiny.

Come back when you have an argument.

>download Tekken DLC
>DLC stage
>get to last round
>Skyrim theme starts playing
what the fuck?

Attached: 1521258309353.png (480x492, 78K)

Don't even compare this entitled turd of a game to BotW or Nier:A.

It's a meh to ok game that has some amazing highs and some very bland and boring aspects to it. If you sit down and call it a bad or 2/10 game then you're just being childish.

It'll never be whatever Versus was going to be and it's obvious the final XV product had a ridiculous amount of content cut but what we ended up getting is still an experience worth having.

>amazing highs

Examples?

>noct going on a date with a girl the day after his father died
It's been a couple of months ingame between the date and the death of his father on my save.
Noct ain't got time to dat when there's side questing to be done.

Why can't I? I enjoyed all three of these games. They are different but I still like them all in different ways. You almost seem as if you have some kind of personal vendetta against FFXV or something. Is it because you think it diverges too much from the normal mainline formula? I can see that argument.

I've played:
FF4 - Loved it.
FF5 - Loved it.
FF6 - Kinda lame.
FF7 - Kinda lame.
FF8 - Loved it.
FF10 - Kinda lame.
FF12 - Kinda lame.
FF13 - Hated it.
FF13 LR - Liked it a little.
FF14 - Loved it.

and I love Final Fantasy 15

post link

I'm not the guy who made the post, and I do agree that it's overly shotpost-y, but if you break it down:

>offline MMO
Refers to the insipid side content
>hold a button down
Exaggeration, but there is definitely a lack of functionality/complexity in the combat.
>completely empty open world
It's not a barren wasteland, but it's still poor level design. XV has zero interesting locations compared to other FFs aside from a few dungeons. More than that, the world feels practically dead and there's not a lot of opportunities for the player to interact with it for the sake of immersion.

It's a hyperbolic but apt description.

>FF6 - Kinda lame.
>FF7 - Kinda lame.
>FF8 - Loved it.

Opinion discarded.

>some kind of personal vendetta against FFXV or something

It's most likely people stupid enough to buy it upon release, and got the shitty early access version, which was really bad compared to what's available now.

yeah, we know FF XV-kun. Now go to sleep. It´s past your bed time.

Ah yeah to be fair that is pretty shitty. I'd be pissed too probably. I think that the current state of the game is pretty good though.

this

Don't kid yourself. It's still a turd, just with a bit more polish.

more than half of these were composed when Nomura was still in charge, which isn't a coincidence seeing as how he's been working with Shimomura for more than 10 years and clealry works well with her. more than half of her Versus 13 compositions were scrapped by Tabata

Finally a list without Apocalyptis Noctis or whatever you call it. I hate that shit.

Did you reply to the wrong post or something?

go to bed FFXV-Kun

Is this game finished now or are they still adding more stuff?

Still gonna be more Episode DLC side stories.

Won't be finished until 2020. They've got TWO MORE SEASON PASSES PLANNED. It's literally still been under development for well over a year.

Why do pc shits always have the worst opinions?
This exact shit happened when 13 was ported I just don't understand

Go whirrr post in some meta thread.

how happy do you think she is to be back with Nomura?

Attached: cute mommy composer's favourite scene.jpg (1200x1188, 113K)

Ok man. Fair enough. Most of the side quests are fetch quests, but the combat feels great for me, and if you are not over leveled, you'll die if you just hold A, but what rpg isn't like that(the only difference would be that you are holding it as opposed to pressing it a bunch of times)? Whenever you are walking about doing the hunts or playing through the story, you get to see the beauty of the world and I think one can enjoy a game based on it's art alone, but for me, it was the whole package: the interaction between the characters, the small details, the camping, riding about in the car, seeing the world up close, all of these felt great to me. Then when it comes to the story, I enjoyed it very much, specially together with the movie. So, for me, the only way I can see the game as "an offline MMO", is if I ignore everything else about it, then yes. That description would fit only then.

Relieved to be back with someone who knows how to make good games.

So there is no reason to play this yet.

I like it.
Pros:
-Good graphics, especially for an open world game
-Brilliant OST. Ever since Uematsu stopped doing the full OST for FF games I've been a little nervous but square still hire great composers for their games.
-Fantastic animation. Sometimes the animation syncs for link strikes are off but for the majority of the time they look slick.
-Gameplay is fun. Battle system flows real nice. It could use less of that giant BLOCK and COUNTER prompts but other than that I think it's pretty good.
-The fishing and pinball minigames are fun and enjoyable.
-Summons feel incredible to use and give the sense of power that was lost in the PS2/3 era of FF games.

Cons:
-Chapter 12 and 13 are just all over the place. The story pacing shits the bed and turned a somewhat enjoyable experience sour.
-Some of the supporting cast needed way more screentime. I like how much attention the pain party gets, but Luna should have had way more exposure than Cindy.
-I felt the voice acting in the first 4 chapters of the game was weak as fuck, but improved greatly as the game went on.
-Flying Regalia is a load of shite and a waste of time.
-Chocobo racing is the weakest minigame by far which is a shame since the chocobo mechanics weren't that bad.
-Armour system bound to fashion is weak as hell. Weapons and Armour should have been able to be modified in the main game, and not just by Cid in the MP.
-Although the scenery is gorgeous, there needed to be way more variety. There just wasn't enough in this game.
-Episode Prompto and Gladio were super weak. Episode Ignis on the other had I felt was way better.

Lots of hangups but overall I had a good experience playing this. It's nowhere near the 1/10 Sup Forums keeps memeing.

A solid 7.5/10. A good game.

Attached: 1462495870474.jpg (655x527, 59K)

>but the combat feels great for me
what action games have you played? this is an honest question

Well it depends on if you want to wait for DLC that wont be free anyway. I don't think they're adding anything more to the main game.

>6 pros
>8 cons
>good game

I was nitpicking a bit in the cons though
