I didn't play this game. But, Sup Forums exaggerates everything and focuses on the negative while ignoring anything positive or finding it neutral instead of positive, this much I know for sure. Any negative elements will be blown out of proportion as well. I bet this game is a 6/10 instead of the 2 or 3/10 most of Sup Forums thinks.
>got cucked into buying bethesda's season pass
>half the content is crap
>almost all of it is already free on the nexus
>they stole a fucking mod from new vegas and added it as dlc
>haven't finished nuka-world
I don't think I'll be returning, game looked alright visual wise.
It's been a fun 200 hours with mods.
>Be braindead casual normalfaggot
>Sup Forums tells me game is shit but play anyway
>be pleasantly surprised that I like it
>user says Sup Forums says a game is shit but it's actually pretty good
>it's actually shit
Every time.
>play the game for 200 hours
>"yeah I had fun but this game sux"
Fucking Sup Forumsedditors.
this game was terrible and i actually enjoy the fallout series but dont kid yourself, this game holds no torch to fallout 3 or new vegas.
I swear the same people play a AAA moviegame for 40 hours and claim it's phenomenal
Ethnicity of this poster: Todd Howard
A game doesn't need to be 10/10 to play
if that were the case you wouldn't play a single game and neither would anyone else
Sup Forums just hates anything popular and latch on to old shit
Yeah, I'm not sure what they were thinking with the DLC most of it was horse armor tier garbage.
The fact that they increased the price of the season pass was top jew.
What dlc is based on what NV mod?
>fallout 3
I feel bad for shitting on it all these years after playing 4
I only recently got a ps4 and FO4 is the only game I got with it. I've been a fan since fallout 2 and loved New Vegas. So far it's met all my expectations and exceeded them in many ways. It looks amazing and plays smooth like butter. A survival mod makes it even better. It's an awesome game. I think allot of gamers these days are jaded and over exposed to vidya. I'm a poorfag and if I want a game I have to save for it and I try to squeeze as much enjoyment from a game as I can.
Show us where he claimed the game had to be 10 out of 10.
right there
You're not going to get any pity from me considering you were so fucking retarded to buy a season pass from bethesda. You're a literal jew enabler.
Google Autumn Leaves
>this game sucks
>lol i bet you didn't even play it
>but i did
>lmoa why did you play it when it sucks
youtube.com
I'm not seeing the connection to fo4 here
>pretty good
It was Fallout fucking 4! is was supposed to be the second coming!
No, it really isn't very good. Todd please
It's not that he played it, it's that he played it for 200 fucking hours. Do you know how many things you can do in 200 goddamned hours? You can learn a fucking language in that much time, instead he spent them playing a fucking piece of shit game. I've played shit games to try them out and after a couple of hours where it was obvious it was a shit game I stopped playing and moved on. Wha the hell is wrong with you people, you sound like battered wives.
I agree user Fallout 4 is a masterpiece and you should buy its VR version. It is phenomenal how great VR works with the exciting gameplay of Bethesda games.
Sup Forums is in denial about how bad NV was so they tell everyone F4 was shit as a distraction when really its just slightly worse then 3 and much better then NV.
Disapproval you’re used to
10/10 game
pretty much this. average fun game. gets repetitive after a while though.
on my first playthrough at 150 hour mark now and i'm level 61 and have developed a good chunk of the settlements into places that look like people could live in and belong in a fallout universe.
i can see what they were trying to accomplish with settlements but it took most of that time to understand reasons why i would want to develop them as well as forgetting the majority of things that make a good fallout game to me.
the base game has way too many issues with pacing that left me wondering where the heck i left off or where i should logically go next, i assume by design so you can stop questing to help settlements and develop them.
far harbor had really good pacing since it was just a short DLC on an island, no settlements or other bullshit distracting me. i finished it all in one go. the atmosphere is super good. i liked it.
Sup Forums exaggerates everything, but in terms of FO4, it's only superficially "good". the way i'd describe it is that all the individual pieces are pretty decent & fun can be had (the gunplay is good enough to be fun, exploring the reasonably dense world is interesting, settlement building can be fun, etc.) but unfortunately they all seem to exist totally separate from one another and as a result the whole game starts to feel pointless after just a few hours. there's lots to explore but nothing worthwhile to actually FIND. settlement building is entertaining but it serves NO purpose as far as the game itself and even on survival mode all you really need is a water pump and a bed. all the armor/weapon mods were good in theory but none of them are interesting and most are just plain pointless (why would you not just maximize damage 99% of the time?). etc etc it's a shame because the potential is all there, but bethesda only knows how to make walking simulators without any finesse when it comes to designing a GAME.
fun game bad plot, bad skill system.
the biggest improvements besides graphics were the movement and shooting mechanics and the salvaging mechanics. Before fo4 a majority of the clutter you saw on the map was pretty much useless cept for memeshit like chems and survival consumables. It also felt pretty nice having a chill abandoned garage to live in.
oh and also power armor finally feels big and powerful now, despite the lore-raped batteries.
It's a fun shooter, no one would shit on it as much if it was a spin off rather than a numbered entry.
It seems you're under 8 hours in to the game
so true i think this is why NV gets a pass from Sup Forums
New Vegas stands on it's own as one of the best RPG games ever made. Fo4 was Todd's chance to learn from that and bring the series back to some level of quality but obviously we know how that went.
Unironically, its another case of "Decent game, bad X game". If it had been marketed as anything fucking else or held seperate from the main series, it would have been just fine. Considering I got it and all its DLC for 20$ on sale and have like 200 hours in the thing, I can't really call it a shitty game. The dialogue is trash, the story is trash, but the gameplay itself is fairly enjoyable dungeony-crawling where you just explore rundown locations for shits and giggles. Not really any meaningful loot but the world is well made and interesting to fight through and the difficulty is crippling as fuck until you get 10-20 hours in, so I'd even call it harder than Fallout 3/NV. On top of that the basebuilding is fun as fuck and speaks to my inner autist, giving me a reason to actually gather shit when I go adventuring. If they hadn't slapped a 'fallout' label on it and shat all over the lore, dumbed down the previous interesting aspects, etc, it'd be a perfectly serviceable or even above-average RPG with just godawful story/writing.
NV was a shitty mod for fallout 3 , grow up
the main thing it's missing a reason to play once you get past that initial difficulty spike. it needed some kind of "end game", ideally one that ties together the various factions, settlement building, item hunting, etc.
for example, once you've chosen a "side", it would be cool if the endgame/postgame basically made the map a warzone where you could duke it out between factions. even better if the settlement system had been designed in a way where the various factions could "take over" the settlement locations. this wouldve given a player plenty of reason to keep playing, leveling, building. OR put in some superbosses end-game that players can fight against for random, good, unique loot. i think bethesda honestly thought their shittyass story was enough reason to play and good god were they wrong.
I refuse to believe people actually think this.
i refuse to believe people like NV as their favorite fallout game it makes me want to vomit its so shit.
>really want to start a new game on survival mode
>don't want to lose console commands
Just need the scrapall command for cleaning up settlements, saves me 15 minutes at least each time.
survival + is great for that
>falling for this low tier bait
pathetic
i dont think he was baiting honestly fallout NV was one of the worst fallout games , certainly worse then 1,2,3 and maybe others guess it would depend on if you liked 4 (4 was pretty bad guys lets me honest here)
>bait
This place is reddit 2.0, that's not a bait.
>worse than 3
don’t get me wrong I like 3 almost as much as New Vegas but it is behind even game mechanic wise due to moddable guns, faction reputation, throwable weapons. Both are good but calling it a “shitty fallout 3 mod” is bait
Pic related and check my digits
ya but NV is copy pasted half there game from fallout 3 , its hardly its own game hence it being a "mod"
That’s all Bethesda games vertibirds in 4 are reskinned dragons from skyrim.
no quest branching
no pure evil choices
have to spend 50 levels getting mandatory skills
leveled areas and low kill xp means no exploration for you
another settlement needs our help
there are so many problems with this game that it would be impossible to list them all
It is when it comes down to it. They had 75% of the work already done for them they just made lots of guns and the NV strip in the base game.
ya and most of the stuff obsidian made themselves was broken on launch , some of it still isent fixed years later
>this is fallout now
>there will never be another isometric fallout ever again
Fuck this shit timeline and fuck your shitty gamebryo action games called fallout 3/NV/4.
im not a huge fan of the FPS ones either but the isometric fallouts were hugely overrated. infinity engine games came out around the same time and were miles ahead of those shit excuses for games
i liked em both i thought 1 - 3 was pretty good
I enjoyed 1 and 2 but there are hardly any isometric rpgs anymore at all. It’s not surprising
and they only had a year to make the entire game. The brokenness comes with a Bethesda published game honestly. Look at 3, 4, oblivion, skyrim, morrowind. For what they were given it was good. I’m not talking about all that however. My point is as a Bethesda engine fallout game it is good (not as amazing as hyped by Sup Forums) but it isnt shitty
Fuck off Todd
far harbour has settlements
>isometric fallouts were hugely overrated
Except they weren't.
>infinity engine games
Now these were actually overrated
>shit excuses for games
Lmao. Are you the same guy that goes into every classic fallout thread and posts that pasta about 1 and 2 not being games?
There's not a single fun Fallout 4 thread out there. Unlike New Vegas threads where people have a good time except one or two haters.
Fallout 4 was a true blunder.
Yup, agree with the other guy, wasn't awful, wasn't spectacular, but overall was decent fun and kept me entertained for a fair while. Though I doubt I'd go back to it. Sup Forums is full of critics though who would shit on the most perfect godlike game if it was created for xyx reason.
I just hate that you get power armor so fucking early.
sure but you also have to fuel it and keep it repaired. on harder difficulties the game is pretty much impossible to play without it too if you aren't a stealth archer.
Played it on 2nd hardest and you can play without it. The AI is pretty stupid.
