Uncomfirmed but... Yes. In the past whenever a character could live or die, they'd be offed usually next episode so they don't need to keep paying the actor and writing for them. GoT has several Lynch pin characters who are key to the entire arc, so they'd have to pay several actors for content many would probably never see.
