How do we make Linux gaming better?
Linux Gaming thread
Encourage more devs to make Linux versions for steam.
It's very easy actually, you just need to do exactly as I say. First you have to co
Linux gaming is fine as it is.
It has an established niche and is really the best for the kind of application.
Or are you one of those poor sods with a Windows phone?
Donate money to projects like WINE and buy the Linux version of the games.
Linux is shit.
convince developers to use Vulkan
Sick digits, my man.
Thanks for your contribution.
This really is what needs to happen. Developers need to stop getting conned into using APIs that only work on individual versions of a single OS. It completely ruins portability and long term maintenance.

let my fucking asus z370-i motherboard wifi antenna work
These days most common hardware should just work out of the box. There's still some Linux unfriendly vendors out there though so building a Linux system does require a bit of care.
There's also odd situations like AMD has no good drivers on Windows, but some of the best drivers on Linux.
I'm thinking I have to wait for something with kernel 4.15 for there to be ootb drivers for it cause i'm too retarded to find and install the right ones. Also doesn't help that my mtoherboard has an Intel NIC for ethernet and a realtek 8822BE wireless adapter
4.15 is out already, I've been running it for ages because I need it for my Vega card. Most distros should have it pre-built for you though it may be optional.
A lot of times device drivers are back ported to the LTS kernels as well.
DXVK will be the saving grace of linux gaming, it will make enough windows exclusives playable enough so people will switch and development will grow for linux
Not on Ubuntu 17.10, it uses 4.14 I'll probably just wait to use 18.04 honestly. Solus would be sweet since it's one of the cooler and most sensible distros but for some reason i can never boot from a USB.
>Not on Ubuntu 17.10
I've got it on 16.04, check out the official kernel ppa.
Solus is great. I mean sure, repositories can be barren at times, but it gets the newest kernel, the most reliable nvidia setup out there and even easy gamepad support.
how would the publisher know that I buy a game for its Linux version (on steam or humble store)?
Steam can detect if it's bought through Linux or played on Linux. That's how they determine metrics. I assume humble bundle might detect through browser or they don't care and developers just look at player/install counts by system on steam or GoG or wherever you end up redeeming humble bundle purchases.
you install android
