The game takes place in a wasteland again, similar to borderlands 1, but on Prometheus.
The main plot is a war between the major companies who have opened a vault with a device to control the universe. The main villain of which is the Patriarch of the company Jakobs who is made out to be a Donald Trump lookalike. To be less like BL2 the game’s plot revolves more around dismantling the companies that control the Galaxies and what’s left of Hyperion as well, in an anti-capitalist message. The player characters receive help from the Eridians.
The game will have many various microtransactions, you can buy loot boxes with in game money at very high prices for various rarity boxes or buy them with purchasable currency.
The game will be teased in Q4 2018 and released early 2019

Josiah Myers

Nothing, it is canonically destroyed and reformed into a community on Pandora. Although, Blake is still alive, but his position and power in company is unknown. And he is not even an evil character.
>the game will have many various microtransactions
Randy told in public that he is completely against microtransactions in paid games and stated that there will be none in BL3. He might lie though.
Christian Bell
Borderlands is the most soyboy game series out there, who cares
Jacob Wilson
>only played Tales of the Borderlands >really liked it
Should I get into the actual series with BL1? Or should I jump straight into BL2? I have a CFW'd PS3, so wasting money isn't an issue.
John Wilson
Why is there only one trans? As always trans people are being underrepresented. This is unacceptable.
Jack Lopez
Burch family was kicked out the Gearbox entirely. So he is not the script writer.
Wyatt Ortiz
BL is boring trash unless you're in it for the glitches, but even then, Gearbox patched the best glitch in BL2 a year ago.
Brandon Young
Hyperion was literally confirmed to have had a hand in destroying the intergalactic government and had huge ownership over the galaxies. Getting wrekt on Pandora couldn’t have obliterated the entire company but it came close.
Jaxson Hernandez
He could simply have a different definition of micro transactions
Lucas Richardson

Based Gearbox putting wh*tetoids in their place.

It's not about wasting money, it's about wasting time. Borderlands is really awful. You'll notice the only praise it ever gets is "it's better with friends!" which is worthless as a positive because the same is true of almost everything.
>Should I get into the actual series with BL1? >Or should I jump straight into BL2?
Depends on what you want. BL1 is more gritty, stylish and serious, but looks much more bland and dull. BL2 is vast, has a fuckton of content and much more variety, but the visual design might be an eye cancer to you if you are not into cell-shaded comic book style. Also, Burch writing, although it does not stick as hemorrhoids as it is in the Pre-Sequel. Avoid the pre-sequel at all cost.
>a year ago wait what? i thought the last patch for BL2 was in 2015
Aiden Harris
His statement was about that he is against paid progression system in general. Something along the lines of "if you don't like the game, just don't play it."
Adam Cooper
>2015 was 3 years ago Damn...
Brayden Ward
Fuck. Guess I'm not getting into the series then.
Eli Turner
>one is trans that just seems like mental illness with extra steps
Adam Davis
They deserve some credit on making a plot so shallow that it only conforms to people's existing beliefs. I'm sure it'll hit home with the force of one of those tweets everybody was talking about last week but ultimately forgot when a new one came along. Stellar stuff.
Parker Morgan
>The main plot is a Who the fuck cares I just want to hunt Vaults
Liam Brown
If you like diablo-like system of progression and character building, then it gives you variety and some freedom with setups and builds. Plus some actually good superbosses and challenges similar to diablo. For everyone who dislikes that approach, it is obviously will be shit, no matter what. But otherwise, it is very competent for the genre.

>All playable characters are female. One is trans. >I'd play this if they are all hot Same. Hope randy does it right this time. I didn't bothered with TPS and the stupidly cringy memestoryland series. More like BL1, less drama, more shooty and looty.
Hudson Davis
I love how you guys are taking this seriously.
Nathaniel Walker

God I hope this is all true just so I can laugh even harder at Gearbox.
Jonathan Wood
>>an anti-capitalist message. >it's a commercial videogame
Jace Carter
fiona and rhys better be in this.
Mason Robinson
Yeah but where is Tim?
Jose Brooks
What was the glitch?
Jonathan Myers
Dude, borderlands 1 is a great game.
Austin Reyes
I had a lot of fun with Borderlands 2 and its DLC. I don't understand how they have done nothing but fuck up since then.
Charles Anderson
>texas made game is the most SJW of all time lol
Jacob Barnes

Hilarious.

>you’ll need all the vault hunters you can get >next game has absolutely nothing to do with this obvious sequel teasing line and all the vault hunters you can get are four females Okay OP.
Nathaniel Wood
>All playable characters are female. One is trans. (And That's A Great Fucking Thing!)
The OP said it was a war against the corporations, and obviously Vault Hunters are already pretty vaguely anarchistic, could probably be inferring to the 'resistance' they built in 2 needs to be even bigger to keep eridian tech from being abused by the big companies
