Ni No Kuni II

For those that have the game already, how is it? Did it live up to the hype?

Certainly did for me, except that the fucking sound is cutting off everytime i step on a falling tile in a Trial.

better than the first one that's for sure

I think those that have it already are playing it right now.
Meanwhile us PCMR have to wait until tomorrow 6PM CET, it's just not fair.

What hype? The game is complete liquid dogshit like the first and confirmed shit.

Dude you're not fooling anyone, it has a 88 on opencritic with some troll reviews pushing it down. Between sea of thieves and a way out being total crap, it's the one major game from this week that does not disapoint.

based contrarian

plus it will get the streamer bonus. A few big streamers will be playing it.

It's better than the wait for NNK1.

>game is too easy even for game journalists
>story has no stakes and characters have zero development
Face it, Ni no Kuni is mediocre factory produced garbage. If it wasn't for ghiblishit it would be panned everywhere since it's boring garbage.

>He finds Action JRPGs challenging
lmao, face it, them being easy is par for the course. In fact action RPGs both western and Japanese are easy.

Deference between being easy and braindead. Ni No Shitty is exactly that, simple mindless trash for toddlers.

So now the problem isn't that it's easy. It's okay for a game to be easy, this is just easy but in a bad way. Pretty weird distinction you've got my man, but more power to you.

>factory produced garbage.
What does this even mean. I've seen you in multiple threads trying to push this.

Are you retarded? Actually don't answer that we already

This fucking "ground is too soft i wish more of my bones were broken" mentality is getting on my nerves, not every games have to be dork souls.

>IT'S EASY SO IT SUCKS
>lmao the genre is easy
>YEAH WELL EASY IS FINE, THIS IS DIFFERENT EASY THAT'S WHAT'S BAD
Please get a better argument my man. Dislike the game all you want, you really don't need to justify that, but when you make terrible justifications for it anyway you sound pretty stupid.

>Meanwhile us PCMR have to wait until tomorrow 6PM CET, it's just not fair.
Bitch at them on Twitter until they move it up to at least midnight ET or PT, complaining here won't solve anything. They've done midnight releases on Steam before so there's no reason they can't do it with NNK2.

This guy gets it.

Some people don't want difficulty. Some want a fun experience.

>just turn your brain off...

This is the capeshit of games.

>JRPGs really make me think

Do you not understand english? "Even" as in a major problem and journalists find it insulting No wonder you enjoy this slop if you're so dumb to read.

time for free games boyos

I'm saying if you go into this genre for challenge you're pretty fucking retarded. Sure there are outliers occasionally but the VAST majority of the genre is easy enough for children to play.

>But journalists say it's easy so it must be super easy!
So? Once you hit the threshold of easy, it all becomes pretty by the numbers, frankly the difference between easy and the easiest ever is marginal for anyone who actively plays games.

No pokemon no buy.

>difficulty concerns about babymode combat
>troll reviews

>He finds Action JRPGs challenging
Post your Ys Inferno playthrough so we can all laugh at you faggot

>Pretty weird distinction you've got my man
Not as weird as "artificial difficulty" my man

>using faggot as an insult

Why do americans and people from shithole countries do this? It's embarrassing.

>Visually the game is stunning, with the character and environment design equalling the films of Studio Ghibli. Nothing brought this point home for me more than the design of Ni no Kuni II’s female characters, however. The women and girls Evan encounters out in the world, as well as those that join his kingdom and his party, are all dressed in a way that makes sense and are treated as equals for the duration. There’s no arbitrary hot spring scene, there’s no older male character that’s constantly hitting on a younger female character, no ridiculously sexualised outfits and no bizarre story quests involving maid costumes. Ni No Kuni II is above all that. Not once did I roll my eyes or cringe at the treatment of any of its female characters. There was even one side quest in the kingdom of Broadleaf (the most technologically similar to our world) where three weapon-loving women were discussing how hard it is to be heard in the workplace, and how they’ve adopted militaristic language as a way of getting ahead. When compared to other JRPGs and indeed a lot of Japanese games in general, Ni No Kuni II is feminist as hell and I love it.

fuck this shit, order cancelled

ugh...

If there's really nothing fappable in this game there's no way I'm buying it.

>some troll reviews pushing it down

I read the one over at Slant and it was hardly trolling. Lots of people went in like it was the end of the world though. Now THEY were trolls.

You can't have fun without challenge.

lol

What challenge is there in sitting on a rollercoaster?

Challenge can be fun, sure, but neither are mutually dependant on each other.

>I've had tghe game for a couple hours
>it lived up to the hype since I've been spamming these threads for months!
You don't say...

This your first JRPG?

>he has to use his brain to play most games
Are you legitimately retarded?

I'm going to buy it anyway

Please list some jrpgs for steam with cuhrayzee anime combat.
Got my first taste with the ffxv demo and it's so stupid it's great.

It's generic weebshit for numales.

>>But journalists say it's easy so it must be super easy!
Considering journalists are bad, yes it's brain dead garbage

So? Once you hit the threshold of easy, it all becomes pretty by the numbers, frankly the difference between easy and the easiest ever is marginal for anyone who actively plays games.

Just ignoring the answer to reiterate the argument doesn't achieve much m8.

SPOILERS
the blue-haired boy in Evan's dream is the villan's son who died. Now Villian wants to make Evan his new sonfu

We were already spoiled about the guy ages ago and it's not the case.

>characters have zero development
Someone confirm this. It was my biggest problem with the first game. I can't even remember the name of one of the party members because he flat out didn't matter. The main characters didn't develop or have any degree of interesting dynamic between each other.

Wait and see, most people aren't playing yet. Even those who are are at least a day away from a solid answer to this.

cant speak for others but ill buy it if its good

>wants to create a world without wars
>goes on a fucking genocide crusade to unite the world
my fetish

I got it on digital download for PS4, so I have to wait 11 more hours.

the game's too easy.

i tought it was out in three hours?

the game's not just easy, it's ultra easy hyper mode.

Midnight in his local timezone, that's usually when PSN unlocks shit. Don't quote me though I've not bought shit off there for a while.

Still too easy for journalists

I got it through Amazon so it releases 12 AM Pacific time, or 2 AM my time.

I'm so excited. The first game was the best rpg in years.

Honestly if I judged games by what Journalists found acceptable, I'd be playing Gone Home "the most thrilling experience of my life!" right now.

>Reviews
>Meaning anything
>EVER

I want to be annoyed at this but this is just standard game journalism at this point.

>they must learn our peaceful ways
>BY FORCE

What the fuck is wrong with the world map? The game has this amazing artstyle then you get onto the world map and it looks like some indie game made in unity. It was gorgeous in the first game, how did this shit happen?

Attached: 123234.jpg (960x540, 130K)

It's not the worst, but yeah it's a distinct downgrade. They're not a Ghibli style game this time so they went in a different direction, they're now a Ghibli influenced game. Don't actually ask me why they made that choice, but it's just what it is. I don't think Ghibli owns any aspect of the style, but it might have been some weird contract stipulation.

Is it really that easy?

Game journalists say it's too easy, and game journalists have proven time and time again to be complete and utter fucking morons, so I'd assume so.

NNK1 was garbage even when it was released. What's different about this game?

Just about everything.

That's a bummer. Wish they would add a difficulty choice at least for these games if they can't make it hard.
