how many games have you made, user?

Here, here!

*starts rapping on legs*

But that image is 30KB

Do you like every game ever made because you've never made one?

>30 KB, 360x360

>going on the defensive
but I make games, user. Die mad about it. :)

FUCKING DELETE THIS RIGHT NOW

it says right there in the image that it's 410kB, what the fuck are you retards on about

Are you a dumb phoneposter

Lol

did you finish your first gamemaker project last night or something? :emoticon:

Iirc phones display file size anyways

But that image is 382 KB.

I'd rather trust the image than the edit you added below

>382KB

Got im coach

That's irrelevant and spreading the argument. Just because OP himself may not have the talent to make a game by himself doesn't mean he can't criticise the industry on an invidual or macro level. Vaccine was made by just one Spanish guy and is one of my favorite games. There is no excuse for lack of talent in western studios where they have every resource at their disposal unless they got conned by Devri University. No excuse.

?

you can criticize all you want, doesn't make your opinion valid.

Get some experience under your belt and maybe I'll listen to what you have to say.

Sure but your image wouldn't be a reflection of that anyway. They worked with what technology they had, within those means. Maybe next time post an example that shows they had to use creativity or talent to work around the available technology. You already messed it up with the file size anyway

I can't compete with Edgar Allan Poe. Doesn't mean I still can't tell a good author from a bad one without writing my own book.

That goomba killer millions

>killer
I see the sleep pills finally kicked in. I obviously meant "killed"

HOW

Though it may sound like a fallacy, this comment isn't exactly 100% wrong. Developers are not made by just one person. There was probably this one guy who had great ideas and lots of talent, only for the rest of the guys making the game saying "nah man you are wrong" or "nah that's too much work".

I honestly think the real problem with today's games are the size of developers, and the influence of publishers. Videogames are going through a Hollywood Golden Age phase, where games are very similar and not exactly innovative.

>tfw new music by tim follin is boring

Post programming witchcraft.

We must go cheaper on the bytes, it's too much.

Have fun with your automated contrarian mindset at evidence that rejects your views because of nationalist and/or brand loyalty being butthurt that you never owned a N64 and sympathize with equally untalented yesmen in the field they chose for a living.

Gtfo. Toxic sheeple. This is between me and him. If you want validation for existing go somewhere else and stop projecting your existential insecurity unto others.

>Developers are not made by just one person
Well yeah obviously. Would be kinda weird if your Mom and Dad were one person.

And 99% of them are nowhere near as fun as SMB

>The picture resolution for the NES is 256 x 240.

Nice fake image OP.

>devs used to actually need to put effort into managing filesize youtube.com/watch?v=IehwV2K60r8

Being that games had to ship on physical media, devs had an incentive to reduce file sizes--codecs specifically designed to compress voice samples, 16-bit textures, tracker music, in-engine cutscenes. And a lot of games back in the day would stream assets from the disc.

Can you imagine being Australian, with the game industry the way it is in 2018? With their internet speeds and data caps? Jesus. Time for a new hobby.

Nice shoop faggot

Someone do one of these for this
come on it'll be funny

That image is 30kb user.

da joke is image compression gotten better in time.

And there's no reason for them to be
Fucking compress your games or no buy

Can we ban "BACK IN MY DAY..." posting yet? or at least contain them to /vr/.

Titanfall is made of uncompressed audio because "we though the 3MB of ram and CPU-optimized audio decoding would slow down the game".

Thank god this shit is dead.

>game file sizes less than 100gb are considered /vr/ now

Attached: 1440432898920.png (330x310, 5K)

the PS3 is technically a retro console.

god is dead.

lul

Can we ban obvious underage b& complaining about oldbros yet?

wrong on both counts
>With the release of the 8th generation of consoles, the Sega Dreamcast will now be considered "retro", though the remainder of the sixth generation (Xbox, PS2, GameCube) will not

But how you know if you are not just pretending to be on an arm chair

I'm aware of the /vr/ rules, I'm just referring to what /vr/ represents in the minds of Sup Forums posters.

it still surprises me that /vr/ came out before the ps4 and xbox one
I thought the board came out in 2015

I mean, the average there is around 25mb/s lines. So a 100gb game would take like 10 or so hours to download. That's not great, but that's not exactly unusable either. I think their nazi, kneejerk censorship/outright banning policies are much worse than their internet speeds.

not via Sup Forums rules, via people and sellers in general. 10 years from launch is retro.
