>It's a tournament when there is literally a (working title)
>yfw it's salmon run: smash edition and you can't play it for 90% of the year
most retarded thing ive seen this year if serious
Bring back Adventure mode instead of retarded shit like subspace emissary or smash run. If I need to bring singleplayer a bit to unlock characters then at least make it enjoyable
The working title IS the invitational.
Are they really going to have a tournament at the same time they show the game off for the first time?
I'm trying to remember if they did this for 4 or not
What are you talking? Subspace emissary is the best thing ever
So what was BotW Link?
Why did Sakurai say he was working on it for two years?
Why would they be so secretive about it if it was just a tournament?
They had reveals gameplay videos in the reveals, gameplay at E3, and then the tournament the year after before it's release.
You niggas stupid.
Not sure if it was the first playable demo, but they did have a tournament with around 20ish characters revealed.
Will Sakurai finally appeal to tournyfags?
I hope not.
When Brawl came out most everyone online felt that Subspace had bad level design, damage sponge enemies, a nonsensical plot, and was even lacking in fan service. Now all the 6-12 year olds from Brawl's release have hair on their private parts and think Subspace was great. They think when people bitch about it they're only referring to the Great Maze.
I encourage you to go back and play it solo.
>no source
Into the trash.
>BotW link
He is a character from Nintendo, Yes? It doesn't say the character will appear in a new game
>Why did Sakurai say he was working on it for two years?
He never said he was working in a NEW SMASH GAME
>Why would they be so secretive about it if it was just a tournament?
So that it could be a surprise?
Holy shit
I hope he doesn't. Why would he? They are already happy with Melee.
Is zero gonna stall the time out like a little bitch again?
The cinematics were good.
The gameplay itself was a chore. It was like Kirby gameplay, but shit
don't fall for this fucking bait again, no body who has the brain capacity to use a computer believes this
>He is a character from Nintendo, Yes? It doesn't say the character will appear in a new game
Well if he's got nothing to do with Smash, and he certainly has nothing to do with Splatoon, why have him in the trailer?
Just played it solo last week, it was great.
It'd be better for the game's life as a whole, so yes.
It is not perfect mind you but it could be improved upon. The best thing about it are the CGs scenes.
And not good fan service? Putting Link vs Mario is a dream for a lot of people.
Why is it great, man?
I played every smash starting with the original on N64 and unironically loved Subspace Emissary.
Smash is, mechanically, a really well-constructed action-platformer that's being used to contain a fighting game. It was cool to see its mechanics applied to the genre they were derived from, even if it wasn't executed perfectly.
Because its fun.
Could you elaborate on the things you like about it?
I like this
>It would be better for the games life
Unless Smash Switch becomes a platform, catering to tournyfags won't do shit for Smash's life. People love to say Melee is still alive, but that means literally nothing when the game receives 0 support from Nintendo itself.
To celebrate that a new tournament will begin. Like an audience.
>nooooo stop having fun! its shit shit shit!!! You're not allowed to think different than meeeeee
holy shit i want this to continue to see what you can come up with, this is incredible
I play Subspace Solo from time to time and enjoy myself a lot. It's not perfect but it's still a fun mode. Adventure Mode is done 10 times better with Smash Run. Just allow for interactions and Adventure mode is even more obsolete.
>start wondering why they would release a new game when the last one just came out
>realize that Smash 4 came out three and a half years ago
The WiiU's lifespan was a blur
I'm only asking you to elaborate on why you like it, man. I'm not even arguing with you.
who /e3/ this year
Smash's new SP mode should be a combination of Adventure mode and Great Maze.
>had bad level design
It was serviceable for a fighting game.
>damage sponge enemies
How else were they going to make them? If the enemies went by knockback instead of damage, it would have taken even longer. All the bosses have health bars, anyways.
>a nonsensical plot
Its a fucking Nintendo crossover game. The story is the absolute last thing you should be worried about. That said, suck my balls, the story was cool, and thats all that mattered.
>and was even lacking in fan service
LOfuckingL
Samus realizing a creature was in danger and saving Pikachu makes me smile to this day, and when Pikachu returns the favor by hitting Ridley with a Thunder is the hypest shit ever to me. Forget the Dragoon, forget Snake, forget Dedede, Luigi, and Ness shenanigans. Samus and Pikachu are bros for life.
I hope there's a demo, I need to see how it feels to play Smash with the joycons
Yet for some reason they made the actual platforming trash in SSE. Like, the physics just felt WORSE than playing Brawl regularly and even as a teen I instantly noticed it.
It is my dying wish to go to E3 at least once. I'm trying to line up a union job that would get me decent pay and generous vacation time, maybe next year or the year after I'll finally get to go.
Question, do you go alone, or do you have friends you go with? Or do you meet up with people?
Like I said, flawed execution, but a good enough concept to be fun on its own anyway. I still enjoyed it
I go with a small group of friends
its fucking expensive though
>Platforming
>Only Two Jump heights
No user it was awful the only good thing about it was the boss fights with modded characters.
wait does that mean we can triple the third party cameos? Because that's sort of what it suggests.
>yfw portniggers get BTFO this E3
If you’re not press or industry it’s not fun. Most of the shit you wanna see is by appointment only and the stuff for general population takes a few hours in line to demo.
You’re better off at pax, twitchcon, PSX.
Are you retarded?
>it ends up being a port of melee
My bet is the same
You will never convince me that a Link running with Mario cutscene is not the hyppest thing ever.
It's a port of Sm4sh and you're going to like it
This was boring, it sounds like something anyone else would say. Say something that'll kill more of my brain cells.
>Melee
>With inklings
I'm fucking down with this
nintendo is "card board and amiibos and joycons" levels of dumb
but this level of dumb? i find that hard to believe. this will literally make the internet explode and hate them forever like happened with Electronic Arts
Accept it man. When the tourney begins i will love seing you cry.
I hope you know that's just because the controls are not meant for platforming across long distances. It's not like there was a worse control scheme they implemented for SSE. It just played like shit because the control are meant for battles against other similar characters.
Would suck. You ever notice how most post Melee newcomers have a load of unique mechanics attached to them? It's to compensate for the lacking core gameplay so they have to give characters gimmicks to make them actually fun to play.
Not him, but I guess. It's a good thing lack of content was certainly not Brawl's problem, in which case, the problems of the SSE would be more apparent, as in they spent a long time on it to sacrifice other things.
Yay, there it is! Thanks, user!
I'm talking about the physics themselves in SSE. Everything is even slower and floatier and it was annoying. It's extremely noticeable with CF or Sonic.
Hm, maybe it's slower now that I think about it, but the main problem with the controls is using controls that are (debatably) fine for the multiplayer proper, again against AI, and then applying it when you have to platform and fight multiple enemies that are basically damage sponges.
So you're saying inkling would be fun to play if they were to be added to melee? how is that not a good thing?
even against AI*
Please no.
The fact that they haven’t outright said it’s a new game even after press asking for clarification is very telling that it’s probably a port.
And don’t even do the “hurrr original game copyright Nintendo / HAL” original game is referring to Smash 64/the game concept
It bums me out that there is a human being as full-on retarded as you.
Holy fuck, you're fucking stupid.
>they made a new logo for no reason despite every other port using old ones!
I'm sure you're right honey.
Why would they have a tournament for a game that's been out for 4 years? 5mash confirmed a new game.
>I hope there's a demo
There will be, at your local Best Buy. What? It's 5 hours away? Fuck you!
No, it was a fucking slog to get through. Cutscenes were great. Actual game was a fucking nightmare.
My mother ask me all the time about my future and i never respond. This doesn't mean i don't think about it.
>They just throw in every ridiculous character they can think of
>The invitational determines who's in the full game
>even after press asking for clarification
Where?
That's not how the English language works
every year we'll get a new smash bros invitational game with 1 or two new characters and stages, it'll be like ea sports.
>It's a tournament with a new Link, Inklings, and a working title
How do we remove you retards from the universe?
How does it work them?
Yes.
see
and
"Working title" means "a tentative name for a video game we are going to release."
nintendo.com
And? Working title could be for anything. Like a name of a film or a tourney.
>Like a name of a film
Yes.
>or a tourney
No, retard, it can't.
Put a fedora on him and a katana on his back.
Portfags are btfo, please help spread my autistic inforgraphic around
>smash 5 won't have a title by e3 for some reason
Is you fucking retarded.
I certainly know that's how I felt, bring back the short Melee story mode with different level paths any day.
Most retarded statement to date regarding this
>smash 5 won't have a title by e3 for some reason
What does that have to do anything? "Super Smash Bros. Invitational" is just the same event name as they used for the Wii U invitational at E3 2014. It has nothing to do with what the new Switch game will actually be called.
>Melee
>13 months
Seriously? If Nintendo is solid now, then they were straight-up magic back then
Who are you to say what can or can't be done?
It was easy because melee was an enhanced port of 64 (that's why it's called DX in japan)
