the game itself was released in a broken state. there have been multiple 15+ GB patches in the last month and it still has tons of issues. it's not terrible, but people calling it the "best rpg in years" are fucking deluding themselves.

kek, this pretty much sums it up.

i've spent about 50 hours playing so far and i think i've been in combat maybe 10 times.

there is a lot more fetch quest shit than there is actual fighting and combat. it's not like games where there are enemies around every corner. most of the map is empty.

seriously, better writing than witcher 3? come on now. how the fuck could you possibly say that? the main story is pretty meh and very few of the side quests are particularly memorable.

best combat in an rpg to date too? that's crazy. the combat system is slow and easy to manipulate to your favor. after you get the hang of it and learn how to do combos and perfect parries it's near impossible to get killed except for runt, who you can one shot in the face with an arrow anyway.

i mean if we are counting bloodborne as an action RPG (which we should) then the combat in bloodborne is a million times better.

the writing makes me feel like im in a episode of GOT and the combat is reminiscent of m&b but vastly improved.

Every smoke cloud on the map is a bandit camp you can ride their repeatedly for fights. I pretty much have to get in a fight every time i play im 40hrs in and in the monastary mission inside and its hard for me not getting a fight in.

the only rpg where i didn't skip any cutscenes or dialogue
and i found henry very likable, just the characters in general
new vegas was close but i had to skip some shit

bloodborne is my favorite game period
and i dont agree with this

i like it because there's no magic and the combat is decent. there's no doubt the game in a rough state though. the shitty part is while combat is fun there's just not much of it and some parts of like master strikes are broken.

How do I git gud in combat? Am I essentially stuck with using my unlocked combos to do any damage? Loving the game so far but every fight drags on and on. I'm not sure if I am doing piss for damage but I don't come across any better weapons in shops or on enemies yet.
