No Mans Sky never had that potential. Shaun promised a shit game that was even shittier and lacked more at the core. Sea of Thieves is online and that helps alot. Admittedly hand to hand combat is bad, and that isnt fixable. But it has actual questlines, fun exploring decent ship mechanics, ship combat and actual level design. It has a drive and content. Just not enough of it. It is even fun for a few hours. But it needs actual stakes and more content.

Goldeneye is absolute dogshit that you only like because it was your first FPS as a consolebaby kid. Perfect Dark is Okay on xbox 360. But it has all the same probpems woth just a few more redeeming qualities.
Conkers Bad Fur day is a legitimately good game. The rest are just averahe games that got memed into classic status.

This is what happens when you give devs a free reign over their development choices. MS got a load of hate for turning down bungies MMO (which eventually became destiny and a dead franchise now) back when they are still making halo and then they went ahead and listened to the fans to allow these devs to have more of a choice of their games and this is the result. Rare should be making a new perfect dark or something right now and this shit.
