Dating is usually what comes to mind for a new Animal Crossing feature, but it's very delicate territory that I'm sure Nintendo will never every try to implement so long as AC is an E-Rated franchise.
More realistically, they should be at least trying to add more variety to Villager dialogue. Even if they have to recycle a ton of sequences from previous titles, it will certainly be better than the soulless hash that was Pocket Camp.

I've got some theories about what they'll do with the next game. Nintendo from what I've seen likes to throw around some hints at what they plan to do in future installments- so to keep it short:
>More utilization of the RV (ie, "semi"-open world game divided into sectioned areas like Pocket Camp)
>Can take villagers along with you on trips in your RV, along with being able to customize it
>With the """"""help"""""" of Tom Nook, you can build up your own town from the ground up, and you're able to have the friends you've made become villagers
Maybe some more Happy Home Designer-like stuff, like you can actually perform the same "design a room" minigame and get bells for it. I dunno.

It really is. It's the only game where you can pull it off. In other games the male characters are either too ugly, too buff or their clothes change appearance depending on gender. Dresses in Animal Crossing giving you a dainty walking animation regardless of gender just seals it.

In a game with no voice acting, there's really no excuse for having a handful of personality archetypes with identical dialogue.
